The finals were between S4 and Ferrari_430 and it was a Best of 3. The three hero’s that were to be played were Puck, Queen of Pain, and Shadow Fiend. I have pulled stats from DatDota about both players past performance, and used Dotabuff to get the stats on the games that were played; I will be going over who had the better chance of winning on each hero, as well as an analysis of the results of each game. For reference, I know who won on each game, but was not able to watch the games because of work, and I waited to watch the matches until I wrote this up. I did my best to make my past predictions without bias from knowing the results.

It's that time of year again. Time for the world cup of  Dota 2 - The International 2014

Today is the last day of the group stages. Sixteen teams have been playing round robin games. At the end of these matches, the bottom six teams will be eliminated. Playoffs next week determine who takes home five million dollars. Last year, team Alliance was crowned winner with a dominant performance, earning them a status as first among peers in elite dota competition. Since then, they've had a bit of a rocky road, as Valve documents in this short video. This year, they arrived with high hopes to repeat their success. However, the first three days leave them with a 5-8 record. Today, they played two do-or-die games to either advance to the playoffs or go home.

After four days with 123games played, The International 4 is passed Playoffs's phase two. Over these days we saw some monumentally good games, fierce competition, and awesome Dota 2 content being poured out. Even with all of those games, group standing came so unbelievably close. The group stage for The International 4 has come to a close with six teams eliminated. Crazy to think that tomorrow we will begin Day one of Phase 3, determining main event seeding and and eliminating a final 2teams. Sadly Alliance, the returning champions, along with Mouz, Empire, Fnatic, Na`Vi.US and Arrow will not be continuing further and will miss out on competing at Key Arena this year. With the conclusion of The International 4 Day 4 we find ourselves almost done the games. The International 4 standings are almost locked after end day 4, but with the myriad of upsets these last 2days, not much is set in stone. It looks like we're gonna have a lot of tie-breakers tomorrow to determine the final seeding. It's crazy to think that after 118games, only Arrow Gaming is for sure eliminated. Today we were blessed with another 12hours of DotA 2, most of which had 4 games going on simultaneously. We had a total of 36games played between the 16teams who made it to groups

With each team having played six or seven matches in total, Team Liquid, iG and VG are currently leading the race of the The International 4 groupstage. On the other hand, Newbee is currently on a 4 game lost streak, while Arrow remains without a victory.

Heroes picks for the first day of The International 2014

All the teams have already played at least 4 games, and western teams have ended up occupying four of the top 6slots. Holding the pole position alone is Cloud 9, Cloud 9 finished the day with a 4 - 1. Interestingly, their only defeat came in the hands of Mouz-only won one out of 4 games yesterday.

In what seemed like an almost routine series of games, Liquid defeated MVP Phoenix in the grand final of the Wildcard playoffs. They will now join the rest of the teams in the The International 4.
 

With 3 games victories against iceiceice, EG.RTZ and iG.Ferrari, Alliance.S4 is The International 2014 Solo champion! S4 will take the throne from his first opponent and last year's champion DK.iceiceice, and he will have to defend his title next year against new challengers.

Goblak, who played with the very first Na'Vi Dota roster back in 2010, as well as their predecessor DTS where he helped contribute to their historic victory against EHOME in the World Dota Championship in China, has today been announced as the organisation's player coach

With The International 4 starting in mere 4 days, Valve revealed both the full schedule as well as the distribution of the prize pool, the grid for the wildcard qualifier, broadcasting details, information about the secret shop, Ways to Watch,  and much more. An outstanding event is awaiting us.

Following last week's public confrontation between Valve and Fnatic.Dota2, the 5 invited players in BigDaddy(N0tail), Fly, H4nn1, Trixi and Era will be competeing together at The International 4.
