Counter-Strike: Global Offensive update for 2/28/18 (3/1/18 UTC, 1.36.2.8)

MISC

  • Weapon tracers for the local first-person player now appear to come from the weapon muzzle more reliably. Since bullets are actually fired directly along the crosshair, tracers may still be offset from the muzzle in cases where an object blocks the tracer from reaching its target. However, noise in the geometry near the target (like displacement geometry) should no longer cause this offset to happen as often.
  • Guns that fire a tracer every few bullets now have a tracer on their first bullet. Fixes weapons not firing tracers at all with sv_infinite_ammo 1.
  • Weapon viewmodels now reacts to weapon recoil & aimpunch. Can be disabled with "viewmodel_recoil 0".
  • Add a cheat setting convar cl_crosshair_recoil. When enabled will make the player's crosshair also react to weapon recoil and aimpunch.
  • Several fixes to address exploits and stability issues.
  • Added new replay storage and download domains to allow more reliable download of match replays from Perfect World official datacenters.
  • Game state integration (link) will now include players' forward vector orientation when "allplayers_position" integration option is enabled.
  • Added more detailed game information state for broadcast to friends.
  • Made snd_stream load more efficiently.
  • Fixed snd_stream to work on Linux.

MAPS

Canals:

  • Added cover at the back of A site near shop
  • Lowered Tunnels water exit for better visibility toward Ivy
  • Removed awning and adjusted clip brushes at Ivy boost/jump
  • Enlarged stair landing at courtyard for better movement
  • Fixed gap in B site roof that grenades could fall through
  • Added stairs on left side of CT bridge for easier T access to B
  • Other minor bug fixes and improvements

Rumor has it:

  • Trying to use "viewmodel_recoil_scale"? You'll want to use "viewmodel_recoil" instead (thanks to /u/DukeBruno123, /u/TheCowYT, /u/Zlargo and others for the quick improvisation) (Valve's updated the notes to correct this error)

  • Other than what you see above, the rest of this update consists of localization made possible in part by Translators Like You - Thank You

  • Not necessarily part of this update, but for those of you that like having real-life merchandise: Series 3 blind bag collectible pins are now available to order from WeLoveFine, and will begin shipping at some point next week. You'll also get a code to unlock a digital version of the pin you open

    • Direct purchasing of the digital pins isn't possible yet. If you don't particularly mind forgoing the Genuine quality, you'll need to wait a while longer

  • Size is ~50 MB

A little context for my life, I was born mute and in real life a lot of people have been understanding as I was learning to get used to being spoken to unable to speak back.

Now when I play this game I try to give important information on chat but obviously I can't say anything, but that doesn't take away my skill. I practised hard for a year and 1000 hours later I am now supreme. Obviously giving info has some impact on my games but it is clear to me that it is not the make and break of games, after all you have a minimap.

By default the minimap is a bit shit, but once you adjust it you can actually get a lot of info, that doesn't need to be relayed through voice comms.

I just wanted to say that I get a lot of hate and sometimes even get kicked when I play below my normal performance as I get tagged as a "troll" who should "just get a mic" and "don't play ranked without a mic". Ironically my headphones come with a mic, but it is a bit useless for me xD

Yeah just wanted to get this off my chest, I still love CS:GO at the end of the day and the e-sports scene is nothing short of amazing.

EDIT: Thanks for the support guys :) A lot of good suggestions about keybinding some chat stuff, hopefully that will alleviate some issues.
