I bought SFV yesterday. I'm blown away by the quality of the game, and cannot wait to dig a bit deeper. Right now, I'm using a controller with the default layout. Is trials a good place to learn the basics? Any communities where you can add players and start sparring matches? I love that idea.

How do I get my local info in the community space?

In the weekly announcement thread simply post your info (preferably a splash screen sized 640x360 px). Heads up to event organizers, we typically post weekly sign ups but will always tweet out events on the r/SF twitter account @RedditSF.

Why?

Our hope is to promote as many local scenes as we possibly can. Enough players frequent r/SF on a daily basis that it may just entice one of those players near your locals to turn up and grow the community. Tons of players are putting in some incredible work running some high quality events but just aren't getting the coverage they deserve. We're looking to make a change.

These were produced back in 2007 at an arcade called Game Inn Sakura. They're about 2 hrs of Kuroda using one character against a procession of different players. It's useful if you want to see how Kuroda handles the match ups.

We are happy to announce Red Bull Conquest, a new tournament circuit evolved from Red Bull Proving Grounds and Red Bull Battle Grounds with 15 qualifier locations!

How does it work?

RISE: Players attend existing tournaments in their local communities to scout out the competition and train in preparation for their region's Red Bull Conquest Qualifier.

RALLY: Players then rally together to earn their spot and fight for their home turf at the official Red Bull Conquest Qualifying event.

CONQUER: The winning competitors from each region will duke it out to determine who conquers all at the Red Bull Conquest National Finals, where one region will emerge victorious and claim victory as the best fighting game region in the nation.

Bad connections are so common in S3. I use wired 1g fiber network. However network problem can be complicated, I don't even know whose problem it is.

I'm looking into buying Street Fighter V. I've had my PS4 for a year but just got a second controller and my wife and I are getting into playing together. I've seen it said that the original game has as available free upgrade to the arcade version. My question, is there anything to be gained from buying the arcade version itself or can I get the exact same thing, for significantly cheaper, by just upgrading a regular version. Thanks for the help.

As the title states i don't own any of the seasonal characters, Right now i main Rashid, i enjoy his playstyle and i've had the most success with him. I want to Branch off and try someone new but i don't know who. 100k FM is sorta alot at the moment with me returning and also trying to get the crossover skins. So who would be my best bet buying. Also on a side note, all the high ranked players that beat my ass on the reg. Thank you for going all out, i'm not going to get better if you don't try also.

I dont know why but I always play my worst game in mirrors as I forget all my combos, setups and play too passive. Anyone else has the same Problem.

Hi!

I've been getting random disconnects when playing SFV on Steam. Everything works on my PS4 without any hassle, I have good internet, and I've added SFV to my firewall exceptions already.

Anyone knows what the problem might be?

Some characters can choose between high damage combo no oki or less damage combo with an oki. How much damage would you trade for an oki?

Whenever my brother does a tatsumaki with ken and I block, my light or medium punches never manage to punish him for it as he is already blocking. How do I punish him when the delay between his tatsumaki ending and him blocking is so small? Will this be patched?

Overview

One of the original 8 characters in Street Fighter 2, Guile, is back in SFV. While his sonic boom special requires charging, his recovery on fireballs is quick, and his V-Skill can keep his opponents guessing. With his flash kicks and wide range of normals, Guile is one of the few characters can actually play the zoning game well in SFV. His V-Trigger 1 boosts his sonic boom and open combo potentials, V-Trigger 2 on the other hand boost his flash kicks. Being able to have answers in all situations, Guile is considered one of the best characters (if not the best) in SFV.

And I gotta say that commentary was on point and very enjoyable. It's been a while since I watched any gameplay or tournaments and that was solid gold today

Is there anything you could in S2 after landing it (asking mainly when used as anti air) that you can't do now since the S3 nerf?

So I was curious if anyone felt too nervous or apprehensive about playing ranked in SFV? I always hop on to play ranked but I back out because I feel less skilled or not ready. Then I spend the next couple hours in training practicing my combos and my spacing and then I just don't go to ranked. When asking my self this question I think the reason i'm too nervous is because of how much pro game play I watch. I feel like I shouldn't go to ranked or play online at all. I know it's stupid but does anyone else feel or have felt this way?

Edit: I appreciate the replies! If I could get a couple more people to tell me if I should get it I can make my decision

This might not be the best place to ask, since there is likely a very heavy bias, but I'm curious. I played a lot of SFV when it came out with my brother on his PS4 and enjoyed it, and am thinking of getting it for myself while it's on sale. I want to get better at a fighting game and honestly I sort of regret buying DBFZ, it's just way too quick and difficult for me... not to mention the time between matches is just awful. I prefer footsies and not having to worry about touch of death combos.

Is SFV active still? Are there new people still buying it? Any lag or long periods between matches? And am I going to have to worry about spending 10-20 seconds in combos every game?

(Sorry if this is a common post here!)

As title says. Consider the fact I'd likely skip the hardest trials and content because I'm not even close to a hardcore player. Not interested in skins and stages, only characters
