Encountering "Epic Games account is Linked to Another Twitch.tv Account"?

Have you changed your Twitch display name?

Hey everyone. We've identified a bug on our side that is causing some of you to see the this error:

In general, this error means that you are logged in to Twitch.tv with an account different than the one you have linked. You can see the account you're logged in to Twitch.tv by seeing your name in the top-corner

If the names don't match, then it's likely you have changed your display name. If so, please "Disconnect" your Twitch link and re-link it again and it should allow you to complete the Twitch Prime flow. We're working towards a full fix in the future but in the meantime, this should allow you to get your loot.

I really appreciate all the new improvements and the voting before upping the difficulty of a mission, but PLEASE get rid of the annoying pop-up that takes up ALL the screen and instead make it smaller and place it in a corner, like under the mats count would be nice.

Storm Shield Storage is a joke.

Having gotten the last backpack upgrade and having 200 backpack slots, I realized that my storage has capped at 60.

I'm not sure about anyone else but this feels like a real joke to me that that the storage is almost 1/3 the amount we can carry in our backpack. Wouldnt it make more sense for it to be much larger?

Its not like these storm shelters are small or anything, they should easily be able to hold larger amounts than we can. And we get 4 of them! Would be great if we got a significant boost in storage space everytime we unlocked a new one.

But 60? What's even the point outside of storing basic building materials, since those are the only material we are hard capped on how much we can carry at a time.

Please Epic, can it at least be equal in size to our backpacks if not anything more?

Hi Epic!

I figured I would write this to let you know that I usually enjoy playing Fortnite. I say "usually" because it can really be a drag sometimes. Recently, some of those times have been:

  • Having players go AFK in missions that I started.

  • Having players follow me around begging me to craft them the gun I'm currently using, only to have them get mad and destroy my fort once I activate the objective.

  • Going to help out new players in lowbie missions and not getting any Commander XP.

  • Farming tickets/gold/v-bucks, using them on special items, and getting trash rolls with perks that either don't apply to the weapon or are useless outside of a narrow range of conditions.

  • Buying v-bucks and having the same thing happen as described above (this is worse, it's not respecting my money, which is my professional time).

  • Server hitching so bad when a player joins my game that I run off a cliff (in a world with cliffs in every direction).

My point is, your game has a nice, addictive core gameplay loop. It's like Warframe in a lot of ways, and I've got a couple thousand hours in Warframe. I've also spent quite a bit of money on Warframe.

You know why I will never have a couple of thousand hours in your game? You don't respect my time.

You know why I will never spend lots of money on your game? You. Don't. Respect. My. Time.

Now I'm gonna respect your time and stop writing. I hope you start paying attention to the problem children in your community, because they will kill it before you look twice. Please respect our time.

Rant incoming. I'll put a TL;DR at the end for the lazy ;)

I just did (well, I quit after the atlas took enough damage and I wasn't doing another 7 minute defense, sorry, good fucking luck) a level 64 FtS, the new ones or whatever. It was me and one other person who was 65 I believe, he found the atlas but didn't place it?? So I went over there and placed it and some quest items were near by so I grabbed those. I had finished the gym quest and I think almost my daily too in the first two minutes or so.

Then a level 7 outlander joins. Confused as shit, I messaged him asking how he got in here. He responds, "cause I'm a boss"..... Okay. I just left it alone from there, he continues to spam me with messages (girl on xbox problems, I guess). The original guy I was with messages me to ask why I'm bothering the level 7, so obviously that's how he got into the mission. I build up the base, traps and everything and unsurprisingly, the level 7 just builds a tower. On top of the atlas. Thanks. Went over the build limit. I know at this point I should have just left, but I was a little bit optimistic.

Of course, the level 7 and his friend do absolutely nothing... So me and another random that had joined are trying to do both sides and it's a clusterfuck.

Look. I routinely take my boyfriend (he's higher up now but at the time we still played together all the time he was low 20s) and his brother (also low 20s) to Canny. But we either private match or I make sure they're not going to be a burden to the team - we travel together, I tell them what's going on, etc. Especially my brother-in-law, he fully gets that he's pretty much worthless even with a boosted power level fairly close to whatever mission we're in. I help him out with weapons and stuff, he tries his best. He doesn't just build a tower, fuck up build limit and do absolutely nothing, he tries to do his best even if all he did for us was build the base and put his BASE down while we trap it out.

And also, I have been "carried" to Twine. I'm PL 57, I go up to level 100 missions. I know I'm underpowered but I don't get in the way and I especially try not to ruin everyone else's lives. I also go with friends so we are usually not in a public match anyway.

TL;DR: I don't really care if people bring lower levels into missions. But 57 levels below is ridiculous. Go somewhere else. What is the point if you're just going to fail. Don't expect the others in the mission to carry your friend. That's just rude.

  • The Blu Badge Of Courage – Find & Defend Val. Rewards 500 tickets and can be done in 1 mission.
  • Band on the Run – Search 5 tents for Val's team. Rewards 500 tickets and can be done in 1 mission.
  • Dressed To Kill – Gather 8 tactical clothing. Rewards 100 V-Bucks and can be done in 1 mission (suburbs).
  • Two More! – Gather 5 pieces of training equipment. Rewards 500 tickets and can be done in 1 mission.
  • Inspirational Films – Gather 8 VHS tapes. Rewards 500 tickets and can be done in 2 missions.
  • Stab n' Slash 101 – Kill 50 husks with a melee weapon in successful missions. Rewards 500 tickets and can be done in 1 mission.
  • Let's Commence – Search 5 book stacks. Rewards Legendary Bruiser Val defender and can be done in 1 mission.

  • The Big Wick – Launch 2 Firework Clusters Secondaries. Rewards Legendary Dragon's Roar/Might/Claw Schematic and can be done in 2 missions.
  • Bye Bye! – Kill 886 Husks with a Dragon Weapon in successful missions. Rewards 100 V-Bucks and can be done in 2-5 missions.
  • Mistfortune – Kill 38 Mist Monsters with a Dragon Weapon in successful missions. Rewards 500 tickets and can be done in 2-5 missions.

Side Quests:

  • Dragon Weapon Evolution (Side Quest, unlocked after The Big Wick) – Evolve a Dragon Weapon. Rewards 500 tickets.
  • Things That Go Bang In The Night (Repeatable side quest) – Deploy small fireworks and gather 40 red envelopes. Rewards 100 Seasonal Gold and it is done in 2-4 missions.

1st weekLove Storm questline (rewards total of 2000 Firecracker Tickets, 200 V-Bucks and a Legendary hero):

  • Love's Letters Lost – Loot 5 Red Mailboxes. Rewards 500 tickets and can be done in 1 mission.
  • Keep Summer Safe – Find and Defend Summer. Rewards 500 tickets and can be done in 1 mission.
  • … Has Its Thorn – Find 7 Flowers. Rewards 100 V-Bucks and can be done in 1 mission.
  • Dennis to Society – Find & Defend: Dennis. Rewards 500 tickets and can be done in 1 mission.
  • In Your Ears – Listen to 5 boomboxes. Rewards 500 tickets and can be done in 1 mission.
  • If You Can't Find love… – Find 10 chocolates. Rewards 100 V-Bucks and can be done in 1-2 missions.
  • Bear Force One – Launch 9 Teddy Bear Balloons. Rewards Legendary Love Ranger Jonesy soldier hero and can be done in 2 missions.

Either remove Voting from 1st Deposit or add Fixed 20 tickets to Mission Completion.

Epic.... what are you guys thinking behind the scenes? Now with voting, getting tickets is THAT MUCH harder to obtain due to players unwilling to increase difficultly, which im sure we can all agree there is no difference in difficulty between regular and one deposit. So now players arnt even voting to add 1 difficulty which is pretty much free tickets and gold at no cost of difficulty.

Dont get me wrong, voting system was truely needed for the trolls, but now the voting system has allowed players to keep the match regular with no tickets awarded because the format of this event is flawed.

Either add a fixed (low) amount of 20 tickets for regular completion, or remove voting for the first difficulty pylon deposit. The days going forwards will not be pleasant in missions.

This event in my opinion is the worst ticket generation we've had to date. First epic removes difficulty pylon from encampment missions. Ok i get that, everyone was farming it really hard, including myself, then we were forced to do other missions for tickets, cool, but instead of maxed out encampments now we had to do 2-4 player for lower tickets.... and now with voting, i havnt done a 2 player difficulty mission all morning due to afkers and scared players. There needs to be balance because at the moment, i can predict numerous players leaving multiple games until they find a team willing to increase it atleast once.

There needs to be balance epic, the ticket generation for this event is so broken.

Right now NOONE wants to do boosts in normal missions, not even +1. This change is so messed up, forcing people to play a single game mode all day long if they want Tickets...

Solution:

Allow +1 Boost and add Voting for anything higher.

New 4-player missions not worth it

After doing a couple of the new 4-player Team missions they don't seem to be worth the time/effort/resources for the reward (and are potentially bugged).

For a level 100 Fight the Storm (husks lvl 118) we had every badge and all 3 building/combat etc. Platinum and we still only got a lvl 3 chest at the end. Even with this chest supposedly having double-rewards, it was barely more than normal mission rewards.

Definitely not worth it in its current state.

I can't speak for lower level missions, but at level 100 (118) it does not seem to be worth it, and the chest-level at the end seems to be bugged as well.

Just FYI.

And please let me know if you have had a different experience with these new missions.

V 3.1.0 Patch Notes

GAMEPLAY

  • Spring it On! continues, adding new questline 'Brave Beginnings'.

    • Many of us have already given up on our new year's resolutions, but Val has not. Join the brave survivor on her mission to join in the battle against the storm as a defender.
  • We have added new group missions to all theaters. Currently the mission is 'Fight the Storm' with encounters designed for 4 players.

    • These missions allow 4 extra Defenders to be used.
    • Rewards for group missions should be roughly double, except for Spring It On! Gold (the latter remains unchanged).
  • Impulse Grenade has been added.

    • Blast enemies into the air and off cliffs!
    • Use these to bounce yourself or your friends up to hard-to-reach places!
    • These are temporary power-ups that will be removed from the backpack at the end of the mission.
  • DragonFire shotgun is now available in the Weekly Store!

    • Shoots a cone of fiery death, damaging all husks in the area.
    • Heavy auto-shotgun, with a slower rate of fire and smaller magazine size.
  • Damage of Dragon's Roar assault rifle increased by 20%.

  • Voting has been added to the BluGlo Difficulty Pylon.

    • After inserting enough BluGlo for a difficulty bump, the voting window will appear.
    • Teams of 2 or 3 players will require 2 'Yes' votes to increase difficulty. Teams of 4 will require at least 3 'Yes' votes.
    • If vote passes, the team can vote to increase the difficulty again immediately.
    • If the vote fails, a 45 second anti-spam timeout is put into effect before another vote can be taken. The deposited BluGlo will be returned to the player who initiated the vote.
    • Voting is not required in missions with only one player.
  • Training Manuals, Trap Designs, and Weapon Designs used to evolve a schematic or person are now refunded when they are recycled/retired.

    • This refund is in addition to the 1/4/9 currently returned when you recycle or retire a Rare/Epic/Legendary item.
  • Changed 'Crit Damage versus Afflicted targets' weapon modifier from 30%/45%/60% to 45%/67.5%/90%.

Bug Fixes

  • Dragon Rocket Launcher no longer roll magazine size perks.

  • Rocket/Grenade Launchers will no longer roll headshot perks. They are also now able to roll rare durability perks.

  • Wooden Wall Spike Traps have had their Reload Speed perks removed and replaced with valid perks.

  • Wall and Floor Launcher Traps have had their Damage, Critical Chance and Critical Damage perks removed and replaced with valid perks.

  • Fixed an issue that allowed players to damage Lars' van during the timed encounters.

  • Fixed small boxes of fireworks that drop red envelopes from being destroyed by Husky Propane Tank.

  • Disable Play Now button for 'Want to Build a Hoverboard?' Quest since the Quest is fairly dependent on players traveling to the right zone type (i.e., City zones).

  • We have temporarily disabled the Difficulty Pylon in Deliver the Bomb missions to address issues with blocking track placement.

  • Players that play in maps much lower than their current level will have their party stats clamped. We will continue rebalancing stat clamping to make sure parties of mixed levels find the content appropriately challenging.

HEROES

  • [Rework] 'I.F.F. Coding' perk

    • Plasma Pulse kills cause the Constructor's shield to regenerate at 15% of its normal rate for 2 seconds. Consecutive 'Plasma Pulse' kills refresh the duration.
  • [Rework] Soldier's Berserker Subclass

    • 'In a Pinch' has been removed as the level 12 perk and replaced with 'Up Close and Personal'.
    • 'Kneecapper' has replaced 'Up Close and Personal' as the Berserker's level 30 perk. The Soldier Perk 'Up Close and Personal' has been reworked:
    • Warcry applies 3 stacks of Debilitating Shots to nearby enemies.
  • Removed kill reset timer in 'Fragment Generation' perk and changed tooltips to represent the change.

  • 'Fragment Generation' perk kill counter no longer resets after 15 seconds.

  • 'Phase Shift' now continues some of its momentum when used in the air.

  • 'Goin' Commando!!!''s base damage has been increased from 13 to 25 damage.

    • 'Goin' Commando!!!' is no longer flagged as a Ranged Weapon and does not benefit from 'Debilitating Shots'.
  • 'Crescent Kick' can now be used in the air.

  • Renamed Raider Nomad to Raider Raptor.

Bug Fixes

  • 'Dragon Daze' tactical perk now properly shows visual FX when triggered.

  • Fixed an issue that allowed survivors to be carried with Constructors 'Bull Rush' ability.

  • Fixed pitch angle for TEDDY's arm guns when aiming at enemies.

  • Fixed an issue where the pickaxe would become unresponsive if players requeued actions mid swing.

  • Fixed an issue that caused the Soldier's 'Shockwave' damage to be delayed.

  • The Outlander's 'Shock Tower' now correctly displays its lightning visual FX when attacking.

UI

  • Can cycle through survivor squads without backing out.

  • Can clear out all members in a survivor squad from a single action.

Added keybinds to pop-up context menus.

Bug Fixes

  • 'Dragon Daze' tactical perk no longer specifies Ninja.

  • Fixed an issue that caused Recycling node 2 and 3 in the skill tree to not display Collection Book upgrades under bonuses.

  • Fixed issue where pinning the Cruise Control Quest didn't show the Ride the Hoverboard objective on the HUD when not completed.

  • Schematic recycling and evolution is now temporarily blocked while the item is in the crafting queue.

AUDIO

Bug Fixes

  • Fixed audio volumes of mission rewards music.

  • Removed music event from Supply Drop.

  • Fixed the issue with music abruptly switching and sounding too loud.

  • Added a second mix to alternate between the intro being more victorious and the other, which is more subdued.

  • Fixed dialog attenuating sound FX and also not being played through the Voice slider.

  • Fixed the loud music transition to mission rewards.

  • Fixed the bonus success music event so that the high frequencies are less pronounced.

  • Fixed the combat/score music periodically starting/stopping.

  • Fixed the loot tab restarting the music every time you switched to it.

  • Fixed the loot tab music getting stuck on.

Think it's about time we separate the BR and StW servers/backend EPIC. Getting a little ridiculous now.

As anyone who has played since last summer will know, the game/servers have been getting consistently worse every patch. It started around HEX~ time(same time BR really took off, what a coincidence!) and each patch since its either gotten worse or no improvement.

The servers just feel so janky half the time, response time is bad and everything's a little stuttery here and there. You had the benefit of the doubt last autumn(its early access bla bla) but its shown no sign of improvement since.

Separate the servers and backed, cause we all know StW doesn't not have near enough of a player-base to be causing all this 'load'.

And fact game was FAR smoother before BR really took off is all the evidence you need that as usually us PVE players are suffering and paying for the free2play players over having fun on BR.

Difficulty pylon is a feature failure

Fortnite already has a problem with giving low level players the ability to join missions slightly out of their appropriate range. Difficulty pylons provides an ability to up the difficulty of your mission level when higher levels already exist and are accessible to lower level players. What is the point? If you want to make your mission more difficult, then just pick a higher difficulty mission that is already available to you. This event's main feature is incredibly unnecessary as well as uninspired.

Please don't make us beg anymore. Its hard enough finding players at this level. The leeching and afk players have reached the level 70 canny missions. Reporting them isn't working.

There is a very easy way to band-aid this situation I have 2 ideas. If you don't do something soon all you will have are leechers and afk players.

Idea 1:

This will only apply to defense missions I don't know how this will work in a encampment, survivor or build mission. I suggest that after we start the defense phase of the mission create a storm like we have in BR outside the area of the map where the defense is going to take place. If any player is outside in that storm for say 10 seconds, they automatically get kicked out of the game with no rewards. The size of the defense circle and time before you get kicked out is of course something that you would need to figure out.

Addition - For encampments or survivor missions we can have something like a tally on the last 30 seconds of the game. In encampments the game scans the amount of time a player spent in an encampment area or enemies killed from encampments if the player doesn't have the required amount they get kicked without rewards. For survivors the game scans if the player doesn't have a certain amount of survivors they get kicked without rewards.

Idea 2:

Let us scale missions to 1,2 or 3 players if that is all we have available at the time to play. My proposition is if there are 2-3 players scale the amount of enemies accordingly. If there is only one player keep enemy numbers to a 2 person scale but don't let the spawn move.

I am in no way saying that either of these should be a permanent fix but seriously this is getting out of hand. Just let us have this until you find the permanent fix to this problem.

Every other PL70 mission I get into have players PL40 or below that don't even help in missions.

I use 3 different setups while gaming. While doing encampments I use a ninja that has support for that plus I may or may not use adrenaline rush. For atlases I use a soldier with different support. For farming I use an outlander with different support. It would be nice to have a way to do a quick swap when playing different types of missions, especially when someone else is host.

We really need a skin system with all these ongoing event items and promotions

Every month or two we get a new event which provides us with some really good looking skins the most recent being a twitch prime promo. Problem is that you have to re level the hero from the start just to enjoy a seasonal skin which you will probably stop using once a new even comes out. Current system where every single skin is a new hero on it's own really doesn't allow us to fully experience and customize our playstyle. A few cons for a current system:

  • Casual players are unable to really enjoy event / promotional skins, because you barely get enough materials to level up one or two of your favorite heroes. Event heroes just sit in the armory tab gathering dust because it's not really worth it to re level from the start just for a different look.

  • People who are pretty much maxed in the game get punished really hard with this system. Whenever a new skin appears they have to spend hundreds / thousands of xp and materials on a hero with same abilities, just for the different look in order to bring him into your level mission.

  • A proposed fix would simply add a new tab with all the skins in it, you would be able to select a skin which matches the hero type and subclass, I even believe that this would actually increase participation in certain events since you are getting a time limited skin which can be used whenever you feel like, without having to invest heavily.

Some Pros for a newly proposed system:

  • It would reduce the clutter in your hero tab. Anyone else has 15 different Sarah heroes? With different skins and subclasses?
  • Ability to have more than one default hero look. For example now when you evolve hero rarity, the appearance also changes. A new skin system would allow you to select whichever skin you liked the most (from uncommon to legendary)
  • More freedom introducing skins, pretty much the same system that BR uses at the moment. Recolored skins, or skins that do not really match any of the specific real world events would be available for sale in the reworked Store tab.
  • Ability to have skins for harvesting tools, we've seen some amazing concept art and already implemented skins in BR game mode. (That lama pickaxe is amazing and it would really suit Save the world theme as well)
  • One and most important change, share the skins between both game modes, this way people don't feel torn when they have to choose where to spend their vbucks. More BR people would give STW a proper chance if they saw some neat rewards that they can rock in BR game mode. It also works vice versa. I don't think people would mind rocking a Black knight skin in STW as well. Would also make the game feel like it's one full piece instead of 2 completely different games.
  • Currently STW offers only one way to spend your vbucks and it's RNG loot lamas. Maybe it's just me, but I don't want to spend premium currency which cost me real money or hours of grinding, just to buy a lottery ticket.

We need a proper in game store which would sell cosmetics and other much need items. When I spend money I want to get something in return, not a chance to get something. I love both STW and BR game modes, but developers keep splitting the community appart, STW feels like an inferior project in most cases. I still play STW daily, but all my vbucks go to cosmetics in BR because at least when I buy them and I can enjoy them 100% of the time, instead of buying a lottery lama and feeling robbed.

FIX THE FREEZE ISSUES (PS4)

Ever since this new update came out, 80% of the time my game ends up freezing towards the end of a match. It is annoying because I can't rejoin in time to complete it and can't progress with my missions as a result. Is anyone else having this problem?

Improving the upcoming difficulty pylon voting system

Update 3.1.0 adds adds a voting system to increase difficulty. However some posts i've seen on this subreddit since this was announced have raised concerns over trolls who will refuse to vote or afk players not playing and such would cause firecracker tickets and additional gold rewards to not be as viable with random players.

I would like to suggest that the voting requirements be based on the recommended players for the difficulty being voted on.

For example:

Hard - Recommended Players: 2 (So 2 players out of 4 should only need to vote to bump up first difficulty. That could be you and one other player on the mission.)

Very Hard - Recommended Players: 3 (Requires 3/4 players to vote yes)

Extreme / Chaos & Madness - Recommended Players: 4 (These are more challenging and should have all 4 commit to doing these difficulties.)

This way firecracker tickets and gold increased difficulty rewards can still be obtained and would reduce troll behaviour. The only issue here would be if all 3 players in the lobby with you were a party and all were trolls but that would be rare.

So I spotted someone asking for help in global and decided I'd help them out, especially after having done so many SSDs myself solo because I couldn't find help.

First time is fine, dude does what he needs to do like you do. We said bye and I went to play with another friend.

Somehow, a little over a half an hour later he pops back up asking me if I'm "tryn to help ssd". Speech pattern aside, I pop back in and bring my friend. He built no additional traps, no structures and the only tunnels or anything he had were ones I'd built in the previous SSD assist. We help him out, do our thing but eventually notice that he's not present. Stooge had built a ramp up on the side of one of his tier 1 structures and was just watching, not doing anything. I broke the ramp and told him not to afk his own SSD, which he replied "this spaghetti good bruh."

We go to another wave and he proceeds to afk again inside of his basic wood box so eventually we just stopped killing husks which forces him to come out and help. After the mission I messaged him on PSN telling him that if he wants to keep friends around he needs to give at least half a crap.

"I was munchin on my spagetti half the time g and i still had more combat points then to mans so hop on tip wit him im hip on what im suppose to be doing

But thanks for carrying me bub."

....Geez, some people are just amazing, huh? _' My friend has never played a shooter before Fortnite and she's still getting it but at least she tried. This poser barely had more score by padding it out with a high level shotgun that was clearly over his level 6 Stonewood SSD so how he got it is up for speculation.

If you are rewarding us with common and rare schematics in Canny and above, why not let those schematics be given out at the 2 or 3 star level right off the bat? It would make the drops level appropriate(or close) and it may actually be used by the player and not just recycled or transformed. The high amount of XP if they chose to recycle the item would also help close the gap between the amount of resources and ammo spent clearing 3 cat 3 storms and what you get as a reward.

I am relatively new to this subreddit and Reddit altogether I only made an account to bitch about fortnite, so if this has been discussed please ignore.

Outlander Ability Revamp

Lets take the portion of fragment flurry jess that works and apply it to all outlanders.

 

  • Remove fragments from the map entirely, now that we have hover boards the need for clicking on fragments for speed is gone.

  • As all outlanders kill husks, they gain points in a meter, each time the meter reaches full they gain a turret fragment. This can then be broken up and used in types of outlanders individually, some could reach full meter faster than others through skills or hold overall more total completed fragments.

  • As all outlanders harvest, they gain points in a meter, each time the meter reaches full they gain a llama fragment.

  • Allow outlanders to toggle between llama and turret fragments, it is greatly frustrating not being able to place turrets when you have a llama fragment.

 

To me this makes more sense for the outlander, as they harvest they are earning points towards getting a llama, as they fight they are earning points towards a turret, so while they are defending they can keep earning more turrets and be more on par with other heroes abilities that are on a CD system.

 

Notes:

The only reason I don't like searching for llama fragments, on some maps they can be in caves, or in the nth story of a side room of a tall building. The placement of llama nodes really is rather annoying for how little they actually give you in return. The time spent harvesting alone would be faster in terms of getting materials from a llama via searching for one. I feel as though it would better serve as a bonus to the harvesting you are already doing to give to your team. Hardly anyone on the team now actually activates llamas when they run by them.

Like, you only get 1500 from the legendary troll truck, but it's a llama that's originally 2000/2500. When you buy the Triple Llama, you get 300 tickets even though you only pay 225. Why is this not equal across the board?
