Spiteful Priest mirror match-up in a nutshell. We were playing ping-pong and the ball was a Deathwing.

grand archivist will NEVER cast spells that have no target.

Posted: 01 Jan 2018 07:53 AM PST

whenever I play grand archivist on an empty board I never pull mind control which I thought was pretty lucky but I've done some testing on the innkeeper and found that spells like entomb, mind control etc. that require an enemy minion to be in play, will never get pulled by the archivist if your opponent has no minions meaning you'll put free from amber 100% of the time.

I've always been worried abour playing archivist on an empty board incase of a fizzled Mind controls, thought i would share this infomation since it's a pretty big deal for these big spell decks.

Increase amount of cards you can pick to 35 in Arena Draft, then at the end make the player remove 5 cards from the deck to complete it.

Posted: 31 Dec 2017 10:54 AM PST

This would add a lot to building a proper deck in Arena, you could actually pick a Book Wyrm for example early on, then ditch him if it turns out you lack dragons, or you could get rid of those couple of REALLY bad cards that you had to pick because you got 3 unlucky choices.

It would slightly increase the skillcap while reducing the difference in power level between the worst and best decks.

I think this would be a great addition that would revitalize the arena experience for a lot of people.

As a bonus suggestion, allow to, once per draft, add all 3 cards to your deck, unless it's a legendary pick option, or if it's the 29th/34th pick, but this is more of an experimental idea.

What do you think, yay or nay?

The REAL Hearthstone Christmas tree

Posted: 31 Dec 2017 03:48 PM PST

A couple days late but here it is

Edit: since a couple of you asked, this is a deck I play with my brother where we try to play as many Yoggs as possible, so its filled with Burgle effects, discover effects, copy deck effects, Thaurissan, bounce effects, Archbishop, Togwaggle, Brann, Gang Ups and stuff like that. Yogg played like 3 different secrets and my brother got another one in his hand, so we arranged it so he had 4 different class secrets + his quest

Fireside Gatherings are a joke. Three times - no prize package

Posted: 01 Jan 2018 08:08 AM PST

So for the past three campaigns, we've signed up through the usual procedure - create the Facebook group, sign up on the Fireside Gatherings website, choose a campaign we want to be part of, and wait for our prize support to arrive.

Except this marks the third time that we've gone through this and have not received a prize package as part of the campaign. What an absolute joke. We've even noticed that the FSG team switched from manual approval to auto approval, which led to a whole frenzy of events such as fireside gatherings being held at other people's houses. Now, the auto-approval is off and it's up to the FSG team to approve events manually.

Except when they don't approve them and we don't get our prize support. It's becoming a big question of if we want to keep our horse in this race.

After exactly 500 bosses defeated, I finally completed the dungeon run

Posted: 01 Jan 2018 05:02 AM PST

I'm a shit player. Every season I get to about rank 15 and then mess around with clownfiesta decks. I started the day the expansion was released and finished on the 29th of December.

In the end this was the number of bosses defeated with each class:

  • Druid (jade) - 8
  • Rogue (jade) - 10
  • Warrior (weapon/recruit/big) - 21
  • Warlock (invis turtle x4) - 23
  • Mage (giants) - 23
  • Hunter (big) - 31
  • Shaman (jade) - 59
  • Paladin (big) - 144
  • Priest (C'Thun) - 181

In my experience the easiest way to beat the later bosses is to either just be a jade class, or otherwise try to put in as many big minions as possible together with the Scepter (or don't be bad).

Over 500 runs I encountered the Treasure Room once, Trapped Room five times, and Tad two times. I wonder how this matches up with other players' experience. The end bosses I defeated were:

  • Azari x2
  • The Darkness x1
  • Togwaggle x2
  • Vustrasz x2
  • Xol x2

With Xol being the easiest boss (or my rng being good) because she pretty much discards anything useful constantly.

I recorded all my last boss encounters and uploaded them if anyone is interested: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3M32Jynh0LE&list=PLdc-6b62vOzLA9Ckl9nOO0EW59PaC1YUx
