Official r/smashbros Voted Tier List (January-February 2018): Voting, now with a poll that's easier to fill out! Posted: 25 Feb 2018 09:15 PM PST Hey guys! Just wanted to talk about a couple of changes that have been made to both the tier list poll and thread before we get into the voting. First of all, the Google Form used to submit votes has been cleaned up a bit. Before, you had to click on a dragdown menu under each character's name and click on a list of tiers to place a character in a certain tier; now, the poll takes a bit more of a grid format, which makes it much more compact and efficient to navigate. Next, you may notice that there's a comment stickied below. This comment is a discussion question, which aims to generate discussion around a certain aspect of Smash 4's meta. Of course, responding to this discussion question is completely optional; however, participating in the discussion it generates on each new voting thread may not be a bad idea if you're looking to learn a thing or two. With the addition of discussion questions on each new tier list voting thread, there will no longer be any "funsie questions" asked at the end of each bimonthly poll. This is because the discussion question basically does everything that the "funsie question" did, but actually allows for talk about the topic; therefore, there's not much of a reason to keep the "funsie question" around. However, with the "funsie question" going away, something else has taken its place at the end of the poll. I won't spoil it for you, but I think you'll enjoy it :) With all of that out of the way, I guess it's time. First tier list of 2018, here we come! How to Vote There are a total of 5 general tiers; S Tier, A Tier (divided into A+, A, and A- tier), B Tier (divided into B+, B, and B- tier), C Tier (divided into C+, C, and C- tier), and D Tier. Based on the description of each tier in the poll, you will vote where you think each character belongs, with S Tiers being the best and D Tiers being the worst. Using my magical, mythical, and totally ballin' powers (aka basic math), I will transmogrify all of the polls together to come up with the month's tier list! Click here to vote! NOTABLE TOURNAMENT PLACINGS Usually, I'd link the methodology that I use here; however, that methodology was flawed in quite a few ways, and doesn't quite work out with the new PGR TTS. The methodology is currently getting an overhaul, so for now, you'll have to deal with me handpicking results from PGRv5 tournaments. If any character doesn't have a result, they failed to place Top 64 at any PGRv5-eligible tournament.
