en.uesp.net appreciation thread. Posted: 02 Sep 2018 01:42 PM PDT This site has the best ESO information to date. It has everything you need to know about the game. The pages are updated fairly often and the layout is so nice and clean looking everything is easy to find. I recently took a look at the ESO mount section and it completely blew me away. It has pictures and in-game icons of every single mount ever available in ESO, even what they cost and when they were available. I never saw that level of detail with any other ESO website. So this is just a thank you, uesp.net you rock! [link] [comments]

Keebler Sparrowgrass - journaling her travels across Tamriel Posted: 02 Sep 2018 11:19 PM PDT I recently started a blog for a new character I created, Keebler Sparrowgrass. I was looking for a way to get more connected to the lore of the game and a new way to enjoy the game. I heard of others doing this so I decided to give it a go. So far I'm enjoying connecting to my character and figuring out who exactly she is. If anyone is interested in following her travels and wants to check it out, here's the link: https://keeblersparrowgrass.wordpress.com Now in addition to sharing her with all of you, I was wondering if any of you do this sort of thing as well? If you do and it is in a public space, feel free to link it below! [link] [comments]
PUG'ing your way to greatness as a healer Posted: 02 Sep 2018 03:09 PM PDT There's nothing I like more in ESO than healing dungeons. I also like learning my class as I level so instead of DPS'ing to level 50 and then switching to a support roll, I just jump in to the starter dungeons at level 10. Most decent groups won't really need a fully dedicated healer for the non DLC normal mode dungeons but I build all my healers to be as dedicated as my skills allow. This post is meant to gather a few starting (level 10 character or so) "healing" builds to get your feet wet. This is pretty basic stuff, but after 4+ years of playing this game I still run into people that don't realize non-templars can heal. To that end: General advice: --- Food + Potions: At the very least, get a max health + max magicka food. Ideally you'd use Witchmothers for some added Magicka recovery. Potions can be anything really - trash pots are fine. --- Race: --- Class: Nightblade: The general gist of this class is - "attack to heal". Early skills like funnel health and refreshing path do good damage but also add HoTs to your group. In most cases, you can generally stay on the offensive w/o even using you resto staff except as needed to buff. With Summerset, NB's got a reworked "Healthy Offering" skill. This is your burst heal that instantly heals a party member. It adds a DoT to the caster (lol) but also gives you minor mending. This skill has replaced Mutagen for me and allows for an excellent "oh sh*t" button. As you level up, you'll gain access Sap Essence which really makes the Nightblade unique. Its an AoE damage skill that also AoE heals your party based on how many enemies are hit. This skill is fantastic for trash pulls and just being Leroy Jenkins. The NB healer is probably the most "aggressive" healer I've played. You wade into the fray doing DPS and buffing your team. The only issue early on will be resource management. Resto Staff: Mutagen | Combat Prayer | Healing Springs | Funnel Health | Refreshing Path | Veil of Blades --- Dragonknight: The DK has early access to a strong burst heal called "Stonefist". You use it against an enemy, and in addition to doing some damage and knocking them down, it also heals the lowest health member of your party within range. As you start unlocking more skills towards level 30-40, this class gets another "burst" heal in the form of Cauterize. A lot of folks think this skill is a HoT, and it can indeed function as one, but I tend to use it as an immediate heal. Every time you cast Cauterize, it heals the nearest low health ally in any direction. The nice thing about PUG'ing with a DK healer is that you have access to some tanky skills in case you don't really have a tank, or if you just want to help the group in more ways. Talons, Fragmented shield and Magma shell are all great skills for this. Resto Staff: Mutagen | Combat Prayer | Healing Springs | Obsidian Shard | Lava Whip | Shifting Standard --- Sorcerer: This class brings good dps along with one of the best burst heals in the game. Using the Twilight Matriarch, you can heal your pet and 2 other low health party members for large amounts. Although you probably shouldn't, you can heal entire dungeons with just this skill. The downside to the Twilight Matriarch is that it has to be slotted on both (or all three) of your bars so it doesn't un-summon when you switch bars. Resto Staff: Mutagen | Combat Prayer | Healing Springs | Liquid Lightning | Twilight Matriarch | Charged Atronach --- Templar: The "original" healer, or at least many players obvious choice for healing the Templar was initially unique in that it had the only burst heal in the game (Breath of Life). It still has this skill, and it's still excellent, but that's not what makes the Templar special. The Templar has access to a class skill that gives party members stamina and magicka with a synergy. No other class has this ability. Other classes need to rely on Necrotic Orb (and its morphs) for this ability. Additionally, the Templar has access to other group support skills that other classes just don't have. However, after years of tweaks, all other classes are capable healers. Resto Staff: Mutagen | Combat Prayer | Healing Springs | Puncturing Sweep | Breath of Life | Solar Prison --- Warden: Probably my least favorite healer (I have no logical explanation for this). It has an excellent, cheap healing ultimate and lots of party buffs. However, the Warden just doesn't fit my play style of doing as much damage while still buffing and healing my team. Most of its class heals are HoTs or synergies so the Warden does a great job of keeping everyone healthy and protected but IMO it is lacking some spammable direct damage abilities that all the other classes have. Resto Staff: Mutagen | Combat Prayer | Healing Springs | Enchanted Growth | Screaming Cliff Racer| Northern Storm --- Feel free to change this up to whatever works for you. A lot of the time you won't need some of the resto skills, and can instead use a class crowd control skill like talons, encase or impaling shards or slot other damage skills. The important thing is to buff your allies with Combat Prayer and keep them alive and then once those needs are met, do as much dps as possible. Once you hit level 15, you'll have another bar to play with and things start to branch out but early on you are quite limited. --- Here's the general approach to healing as you are starting out: Just before the fight, hit as many party members as possible with combat prayer, and apply mutagen. This gives you a strong HoT, and buffs your team's resistances and damage output. Once you see where the fight is, drop your AoE. For example, the Nightblade puts Refreshing Path down, Sorcerer does Liquid Lightning, etc. Then just use your spammable ability (funnel health, flame whip, cliff racer, etc) until you need to refresh all your HoTs and buffs. If multiple people are taking lots of damage, use healing springs. Don't be afraid to use your class burst heal (Breath of Life, stone fist, Healthy Offering, etc) but in most cases you won't need it unless you or your team makes a mistake. Use your ultimate when it will do the most good but don't save it up "for the perfect moment" - that's just wasted DPS or buffs. Use your ultimate often! --- Even though this is a wall of text, I've only really touched on the very basics of healing but I'm hopeful there are a few folks out there that hadn't considered healing as a way to level their character. On most servers and platforms, you will have near instant queues, or at least only a couple of minutes wait time. Doing dungeons is a great way to level your skills and the Undaunted and Fighters Guild skill lines. I posted this because I like healing on all classes and I think it's a great way to experience the game, and prepares you for a role that is still needed in Vet Dungeons and trials. Posted: 03 Sep 2018 03:05 AM PDT A few weeks ago elder scrolls online was available for a free trial on ps4. I downloaded it and thought it was pretty fun. After the free trial ended I kept it downloaded until now. I finally decided to buy the full game so I went onto the game, went to the section where it said buy and went onto the page to buy the game and bought the Summerset upgrade. After that I still couldn't go on the game. I restarted it and it just told me to buy it. What should I do? [link] [comments]
Does weapon type matter when in werewolf form? Posted: 03 Sep 2018 12:00 AM PDT I'm talking about the passives like on a dual wield ruffian and twin blade and blunt. Do they still get carried over when in werewolf form? What about weapon traits and enchantments? Do they matter when in werewolf form? [link] [comments]

Posted: 02 Sep 2018 11:47 AM PDT Multiple times in PvP I've cast it to reveal, then they recast invis as soon as revealed and they go back to invis and I can't reveal them again no matter how times I cast Magelight. [link] [comments]
Posted: 02 Sep 2018 10:01 AM PDT The storyline in the Orsinium DLC was really well crafted. I kinda started out on the wrong foot in Wrothgar but recently came back to see all the quests to completion. Glad I did. The King's storyline is really enthralling and paces extremely well. I didn't feel like it dragged at all. I was sad when the Orcs bid me farewell at the end. [link] [comments]

[Bug] Igneous Shield and its interaction with Bastion CP Posted: 02 Sep 2018 10:12 AM PDT I have encountered a glitch where the Igneous Shield morph of the Dragonknights' Obsidian Shield is not interacting properly with the Bastion CP star, which increases damage shield strength. A few relevant things for my test character: Maximum HP: 44970 Damage shield effectiveness: 120.15% of default [56 points in CP star "Bastion"] Igneous Shield tooltip description: "Call the earth to your defense, granting a damage shield for you and nearby allies that absorbs 5403 damage. Your own shield absorbs 200% additional damage." Without any points invested in Bastion, the base (AoE) shield absorbs 10% of your maximum health. This portion of the tooltip is functioning properly: 5403/1.2015 = 4497. The problem occurs when the additional 200% personal shield strength is applied, as the 200% does not take into account the additional 20.15% from Bastion. The formula that should be used is (HP x 0.10)(1 + Damage shield strength modifier) + 2(HP x 0.10)(1 + Damage shield strength modifier) for the personal shield - the initial shield, plus 200% of the initial shield. In practice, however, the 200% only adds 8994 additional points, resulting in a total shield strength of 14409 instead of 16209. [link] [comments]

Posted: 03 Sep 2018 02:39 AM PDT Using the skeleton dummy, I am able to hit 25-30k DPS until I start running out of mag and have to start heavy attacking then my DPS drops to 16-18k DPS. Can anyone help out? Mag recovery is 1900, max mag 43k. Do people just chug pots to keep DPS up? Or is there something I'm missing [link] [comments]
[Guide] Program that calculates an effective constant benefit for proc sets Posted: 02 Sep 2018 04:33 PM PDT I was trying to compare the ravager set (630 weapon damage proc from melee damage) with a set that seemingly provided more constant weapon damage so I created a quick matlab program that simulates a 'battle' and creates an effective constant value for the weapon damage that the proc set provides. This is based on the average amount of added weapon damage per second. I'm not sure if an app like this has already been made but I just wanted to share my results since this could be used for any proc set. The program uses the following variables for the calculation:
So for the ravager set, the proc benefit would be 630 weapon damage, 8% proc chance, 10 second proc time and cool down. I estimated that I would register melee damage about once per second. The result was an added effective constant weapon damage of ~300. I also tried it with sloads, assuming 2 opportunities to proc in one second, and I got around an added ~500 effective constant dps. Do these values seem accurate based on your experience with the sets? If this post generates enough interest and I find the time, I could convert this code into a user friendly app. But if anyone else is inclined to do so, I will provide the matlab code in case any programmers in this sub want to take a crack at converting it to another language and creating a GUI. Until then, I can answer any inquires anyone has about a particular proc set since most of you probably don't have matlab (Its pretty expensive but I get it for free at my university) [link] [comments]
Help me gear my magden as a tank for vet hm pledges! Posted: 03 Sep 2018 02:04 AM PDT High elf magden. I don't need this toon to be vdsa-worthy, I'm looking for a quick, solid tank setup that doesn't require farming gear. I usually just do the non-dlc pledges, but if it was a good enough tank to do some of the harder dlc pledges in vet HM that would be a nice bonus. I was thinking something like 5 plague doctor + green pact + 2 lord warden with some fancy expensive food to activate the green pact. I've staff for blocking, grab that fighters guild ability for pulls (silver leash or whatever) [link] [comments]
Am I too late to get started now? Posted: 03 Sep 2018 01:29 AM PDT Looking to know if now is a good time to start into eso? Been playing destiny religiously from launch after a hiatus from gaming altogether and got pretty much fed up with it about 6 months ago.... Found myself clearing my backlog of games and found the games I'm most enjoying are the rpg genre.... So looking into rpg online games I can throw myself into and get lost in the world.... With 2 kids on the go now I don't have the time to commit to a game where I feel I need to be on every single day for hours to progress (like destiny)... With mostly only weekends free now I'm looking for a game I can just pick up where I left off and still feel like I'm progressing.... With eso so far along am I too late to the party to get started now? Any info would be great.... Thanks [link] [comments]
