A simple request from a console pleb

Posted: 28 Jun 2018 02:04 PM PDT

Mini-map, skyshard/lorebook map indicators, build switching, combat metrics, UI updates for guild trader and miscellaneous other areas in the game.

I am not asking for console add-ons (although this would be nice). Specifically, I don't care for a program that tells me when a raid boss is about to attack me. The requests above are simple quality of life additions that are currently crippling the experience on console (apart from the crashing/freezing issues everyone is currently having, I understand these are more pressing issues but ZOS has acknowledged these issues and hopefully is working to fix them).

I know this has been said many times before, but with such an amazing, complex, and beautiful game it frustrates me that such simple quality of life additions have been kept out of the base game simply because the PC version can get them through add-ons. This has been beat to death in the past, which is why it is still so baffling to me changes haven't been made.

It's 2018 and the UI for guild traders is more limited than early word processors at the dawn of time (pretty sure those had search functions).

The lack of a mini-map is just confusing, I can't say anything else related to this because I'm just so confused. It definitely has me staring st the beauty of ESO more, but not even having the option? Confusing.

I shy away from pvp because changing my gear and skills on console is such a daunting task I'd rather spend it enjoying the game. Being able to save builds would increase my willingness to play all of the content that ZOS worked so hard on.

I absolutely love the idea of branching away from easy mode pet magsorc and competing to increase my dps and improve my rotations, but this is much harder without any way to effectively track my DOTs and buffs.

Skyshards and lorebooks, enough said.

All of these additions could be optional, to retain the simplicity and beauty that many people love about ESO. This also wouldn't make so many changes as to cause the wonderful add-on content creators to suffer.

I love this game and have so few complaints. I'm not going to lie and say that these issues are going to stop me from playing the game - I just love it too much. I am very certain, however, that these issues turn other people off from playing the game altogether and I've read posts from many people expressing interest in switching their console accounts to PC (which is not currently possible). I wouldn't be surprised if these players just quit altogether.

This is no slight to the devs because I'm not one and I don't know how difficult it would be to add these things to the base game. I surmise that if a fraction of the resources that are given to the crown store team to fix any issues that arise were out toward improving the game for all involved (especially on console), the increased player base retention would be well worth the increased cost. ESO already has a high, confusing barrier to entry to fully enjoy and understand the game (especially on console). I believe adding these (seemingly simple) quality of life additions would vastly improve the user experience and retain more players as a result.

CC inmunity

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 01:14 AM PDT

*Immunity (I can't edit topic?)

Can somebody explain how CC immunity works after a CC?

  1. If you break free, do you get some seconds of immunity to any CC? How many?
  2. If you do not break free, do you get some seconds immunity?
  3. When you get immunity, is it from the same skill, from the same type of CC, from the same player, or from any CC?
  4. Is there any way to tell if somebody is immune to CC right now?
  5. Does it work the same in pvp than pve?
  6. Does blocking and/or rolling prevent CC?

Thanks.

Microsoft's 'Xbox Community Content' could allow Zenimax to allow and overlook Addons on Xbox One.

[PC] So here's my 1st ever veteran dungeon went (vCoA2) as a Warden Healer

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 12:19 AM PDT

TLDR: it was glorious! and I have my PUG team to thank for that.

Initially I wanted to avoid vet dungeons due to the 'frowned upon' requirement of being CP300+, but I got sick of waiting and queued as c225. My gear was good enough (necro + SPC, mix of blue and epic). Skill setup was a variation of alcast's (https://alcasthq.com/eso-magicka-warden-healer-build-pve/)

Everyone was 300+ except me ofc, but super supportive as I made it clear this was my 1st vet but ofc I knew the mechanics.

What I wasn't sure of was how much DPS was I expected to pull? Was there a minimum? on average I was doing 10% on every fight (trash or boss) due to my skill setup being purely healing / support focused.

Things went smooth all the way to the last boss. Couple of simple mistakes later we downed him but it took a while, which made me wonder whether the healer in vet dungeons is supposed to contribute to dps to a certain degree?

Oh and a big shout out to the players that welcome us plebs to the upper echelons of end game with open arms, you da real MVP.

Which edition to buy on PS4?

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 01:51 AM PDT

Decided to pick up this game finally, but now am confused as to which edition to buy.

Gamestop/Amazon/local outlets are having the below physical editions(with apprx price here):

-Tamriel Unlimited 25€

-Gold 35€

-Morrowind(day one edition) 30€

-Summerset Isles 40€

Now, I am aware that the dlcs can be bought from in game crown store, but that looks a bit expensive. And also, none of the physical box sets actually has all the contents (collector's edition is too expensive for me).

So can someone suggest which edition should be worth picking up (best value for money now, with getting the remaining dlcs later slowly) ??

ESO should have an option to auto-load a character

Posted: 28 Jun 2018 09:53 AM PDT

Each time I start the game, it takes some 20 seconds to show the character screen, then another 30 or so to load my only character and the zone he's currently in. I'd love to see an option to auto-load the character if there is only one (or load a preselected "default" character).

TLDR, Bought the game a week ago. Played like 60 hours already. Really enjoying the game.

Played WoW since the end of vanilla and I didn't think I'd enjoy another game that much again.. I am.

Is TES Online: Collection worth it?

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 04:13 AM PDT

I'm thinking about buying The Elder Scrolls Online. On Xbox One it's 80$ with Summerset, Morrowind and Gold Pack, but I can buy the basic game with Morrowind for 15$ and another time Summerset for 40$. Should I wait until I finish the main/Morrowind story line? And can I buy the DLCs or just in this bundle?

ESO needs a guild trader overhaul. I propose a new tab added to the UI

Posted: 28 Jun 2018 02:20 PM PDT

I've been googling ways to find prices for items efficiently and whether it's console or PC it seems that everyone can agree that ZOS desperately needs to overhaul the guild trader system. Many people have different ideas and there are lots of add-ons for the PC that don't sound like they run very well. What ZOS needs to do here is take the ball and run with it. I have a couple of ideas or features that should just be implemented into the game right across the board, from the PC version to the console version:

  • Keep guild traders exactly how they are. However introduce a new tab in the menu options that would act like a guild trader yellow pages. It would be a simple search bar item. Type in an item name, and it tells you where it's listed, then you can travel wherever it is to find exactly what you need.

  • When you're listing items in your guild trader store, it should show you the average listed price for the item. This can do two things, make pricing easier for players and help govern the marketplace for buying prices. ESO can do this by analyzing everything being sold say once a week, during server maintenance. Then prices for everything are based off an aggregate average of that item. Then when you go list stuff, beside the item in price entry, it tells you the approximate value. This helps in two ways, it can stabilize the buyer's market more evenly and efficiently, and if items are being tracked everywhere, you'd know where to go to find something.

We all know that the guild trading system needs an overhaul (as well as PvP) for probably a huge majority of the end-game players, being closely associated with everything that is this game's economy is just as important as doing dungeons, trials or just PvP. The guild trader system needs an overhaul. Not just more badly optimized 3rd party add-on band-aids. There needs to be two things:

1) A more efficient way to search for items
2) A practical and reliable way to gauge pricing for selling items.

People can debate how these things should be implemented and even make suggestions like I have here. But the fact is, something needs to be done. I am open to hearing suggestions if people don't think mine are practical enough. We should all agree though that something needs to change. Searching for things should be easier than having to travel all around tamriel to find something, and figuring out average market prices shouldn't be a guessing game.

Many other MMOs or games like ESO have better more "modern" systems for running the in-game buying and selling economy. It's time ZOS also figured out a way to make things better and take both the headache and guess work out of it all. If the game had a better marketplace management tab or solution, prices might also stabilize a lot quicker, rather than things being thrown into disarray whenever new DLC is added, or seasonal events happen.

Temporary Account sharing question

Posted: 29 Jun 2018 02:56 AM PDT

I originally bought this game to quest and play with a friend who lives abroad.

He is coming over for a few weeks and we will play for at least a week on both our accounts from the same PC.

Will that be considered account sharing and will we be banned for it?
