Takeaways from OpenAI matches? Posted: 06 Aug 2018 11:58 AM PDT Obviously there are differences in the game mode and hero pool, but are there any lessons for normal dota games? For example, it seems like regen was a much bigger factor in the midlane meta after seeing a bot's take on the 1v1. Regen and starting items seem less relevant as takeaways considering the courier differences. But something like the prioritization of XP over gold and the tightness of high ground pushes seem more translatable. [link] [comments]
Effect of tipping in pro games. Posted: 06 Aug 2018 03:09 PM PDT Just wanted to discuss this a bit. Do you think offensive tipping is a significant factor in pro games now? Some players are more prone to tilt and this might make them play worse. Maybe it has no effect. Should it be disabled for tournament games or is it perfectly viable? Is it ok to have an outside element potentially affect the outcome of the game or can tipping be thought of as an in game mechanic? Thoughts? [link] [comments]
| I will try to reach 7k by the end of this month Posted: 06 Aug 2018 02:54 AM PDT Im posting this here so i can stay motivated. I reached 6.3k on my other acc 2 months ago and took a break,i started playing again, but since i took break,my skill had dropped and on my main acc i was getting top 100 players who usually play cores and i was forced to support and couldnt play core regulary,so i made new account.https://www.dotabuff.com/players/884358227 this is my current acc,i was 5268,now im 5406 and i will be editing this post based on my games, and if someone wants to learn, can try from my db. Game 1,void-I missqueued unranked instead of ranked, and was a clowny ass game, but overall it was easy,i last picked void and it was perfect for that game, just had to be carefull of tiny or pango burst. https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4044900453 Game 2,wk-I 9th picked wk,they last picked tinker, easy game again, was only matter of time before we end https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4043167855 Game 3-,sven-They had pl,meepo, and bh+pudge offlaners,so it was a free win,if my tiny didnt ruin, but i coudlnt make him stop,so he ruined and we lost in 8 mins,it would be a easy game https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4044976552 Game 4,void-They last picked ta,i picked void vs pa and weaver, and that game was close af,they had aegis and could had won,but we pulled it throught https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4044998661 Game 5,lc-I went off with pango, and they were outdrafted hard,it was only a matter of time before we win https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4045032735 Game 6,am-I picked am,they went invo,pl,and my mid went meepo and won the game. The game was close, they would won easily,if pl didnt die like a retard to meepo 3-4 times, they had very good lineup.Missplays by enemies,we were outdrafted imo https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4045099732 Game 7,void-Again easy game,i picked void to counter ls,who was offlane, and their carry went luna vs void, big mistake,so it was easy game,i went bkb and it was game over https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4045157399 Game 8,pl-They last picked lina,i picked pl based on their 4 picks and called to go aggro vs their lycan and necro support lul, close game, they could had ended it midgame, but again, missplays by enemies, they didnt know their win condition, and letted it go too late vs pl https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4045211064 I will be doing these till i start playing vs good players 6k+,if anyone has questions and want to gain mmr ,can ask me ! You can't belive what kind of players are divine, its so easy,i will be editing the post when im over with my games,my goal is 100-150 mmr per day,and when i reach my original mmr,i will play based on my feelings. | Alternative aghanim's effect for Sven Posted: 06 Aug 2018 04:40 PM PDT I was thinking about an upgrade to his ult that wouldn't make it too powerful, but would rather increase the complexivity and potential of the skill, and so I was thinking about making it possible for Sven to use his ultimate multiple times in one go. What I mean by that is that the ultimate would be triggered like normally, and then the player could re-trigger the ult by pressing the ult key to improve the damage multiplier, but also reducing the duration left for the buff. So I was thinking of two ways of doing it, the first being that the rest of the duration is halved, and that the damage multiplier increases by 50%, meaning that Sven would do 160%+50% bonus damage at lvl 3 of God Strength after the first re-trigger, and then 210% + 50% bonus damage on the second re-trigger, but if these re-triggers were done instantly you would be sat with less than 7 seconds of god strength duration. The other way I was thinking could be possible was incrementing the damage multiplier with 10% for each re-trigger, and that it would only take 0.1s to re-cast it instead of the normal 0.3s cast time, and that this would remove 2s from the remaining duratino, meaning you could the damage multiplier by +50% within 0.5s and it would only remove 10s of the duration. What do you think of this idea compared to the one in the game rn? [link] [comments] |
How do you see this game evolving in the next decade? Posted: 05 Aug 2018 05:06 PM PDT I'm interested in your opinion (or wish) on how will everything change. Will any hero be deleted, drasticly revorked or reskined. Map changed, etc. [link] [comments]
What are some good ways to learning to become a better offlaner? Posted: 06 Aug 2018 10:20 AM PDT Currently an archon one with a big dream to be a big boi divine one day. Do you guys have and good tips or references when it comes to being a better offlaner? I know about creep equilibrium, blocking, aggro to ranged creep to deny, stacking and pulling, and other key points, but I feel like I'm always missing something when it comes to playing my offlane. I like to say I'm a decent offlaner but I want to be better than just decent. Here's my link to my dotabuff for some reference: https://www.dotabuff.com/players/88227553 [link] [comments]
Why is Lone Druid so bad currently? Posted: 06 Aug 2018 06:16 AM PDT He's a strong laner, can easily deny, harass, and get kills once he gets level 3 bear, yet his winrate is 37%. Is it because his bear can't carry cheap stats items and needs expensive ones(radiance, aghs, ac)? Also, where would you lane a lone druid currently? [link] [comments]
Some questions about tiny offlane build Posted: 06 Aug 2018 01:42 AM PDT How do you decide whether to go for blink or shadowblade 1st? And if you should max your tree grab first or avalanche+toss combo? Oh and +125 avalanche dmg or the hp? And aquilla or no? [link] [comments]

Practicing mid until you came out strong and swift, where do you do it? Posted: 06 Aug 2018 07:44 AM PDT https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/4045852130 What should have been another match for me turned into an utter humiliation to me when I got outclassed by Invoker at mid so badly that my level fall behind him by 4-6 levels and it doesn't end just there thanks to his Wex that allowed to walk up to me at superior speed and pull out a combo that make a short work of disposing me in the lane, he would then proceed to farm only for 2-5 mins (?) and came out with spirit vessel that nullified Undying's Soul Rip, eliminating any means of healing off all while pulling out a perfect tornado and emp combo without needing deafening blast to assist him. But the most glaring thing is that he knows and exploited his Wex movement speed bonus to gain a massive upper hand in the whole game that it's just impossible to chase him down while he get to cast a spell and get away with it scot-free. Seeing him getting all things done by himself without depending on his teammates unlike a typical player in my bracket, it was pissing me off a lot, not because it was unfair to get crushed by someone whose skill was unusually good compared to the average but it's the knowledge that there is a BFF in the pond that I stood no chance against them since they would have no problem eating me like a snack given their plan, execution, and unpredictability. Something that 3k-4k aren't keen at dealing with. Cut to the chase, before you would grow into a forementioned BFF, how do you usually practice your skill at mid and keep honing it until you don't miss a LH on single creep if there were no interference from an enemy team, know what to do and where should you be when you are going to do it? Note: Bold letters for those who don't want to read my sob story and go straight for the question. [link] [comments]
How do I build and play a safelane Spirit Breaker? Posted: 06 Aug 2018 01:19 AM PDT I played a game where, in spite of the fact that my role was safe lane, Spirit Breaker was such a game-changing pick. I built Aquila, Midas, then Blade Mail and Silver Edge against a Slark/Lina/Mirana/Sniper/LC lineup. What would be the optimal build for a safelane Spirit Breaker most of the time? I got carried by our Bristleback, and had a Pos 2 NW. What would you guys recommend? [link] [comments]
| Posted: 05 Aug 2018 10:30 PM PDT I know sometimes in the middle of battle I will have abilities or items not proc and I assume I am probably at fault, for instance getting stunned and issuing an item command, and then an ability and then a move commands would probably erase my first command, that I get. I was in a game yesterday where there was a Blood Seeker and I was a bit low so figured I should heal via popping my wand so he isn't race-carring around, I switched treads to Agi and dropped an aquila, then had to press wand three times before it went off. I know that wasn't anything at fault my end as I definitely pressed the key and was doing nothing but waiting for my wand to proc to put my item back in my inventory, I literally stood still to do it and had to press the key three times to heal. I have NBN (50mbps internet speeds for the non-Australians here) and am usually playing on 20ms ping with no lost packets (except for those times the servers shit themselves). Am I alone here? | Posted: 06 Aug 2018 12:53 AM PDT This is just a quick idea I came up with. Meepo is a very strong hero at the moment if you know how to play him. With a starting armor of 7.8 (I think) he can take right clicks pretty good. He also has one of the best lockdown abilities in the game, earthbind. I will later go further into the playstyle On to the build. Tranqs>Blink>Vlads>Crimson>Pipe. The order of purchasing these items depends on the game. After your last item you can go anything, eblade, hex... The playstyle. Basically what you want to do is start in a dual lane, I don't think solo would ever work. In teamfights you initiate and focus mainly on doing damage on the beginning with poof and locking them down with earthbind, without focusing on right clicks. You want your carry to do that. So this is just a quick idea not a guide or something. I would be glad to hear what you guys think. [link] [comments] |
