- Decided to try the naked brutality mode, and my girl basically downed herself with food poisoning. 10/10 will try again !
- So my first colony just came to an end
- Does 200% sharp resistance make you immune to bullets or would it still be a 50% chance to take the damage as blunt?

So my first colony just came to an end Posted: 01 Aug 2018 09:08 PM PDT What ended it, you might ask? Raids/Mechs? Pft I had a really strong perimeter, turrets and fortifications all around my base. I had only lost 5 colonists and all but one of them had been expendable (the one that died had a really unlucky shot from an enemy raider who missed one guy and hit him right in the neck). Starvation? I had enough food stored to last over 2 years without any additional harvests, all frozen, and thats not even counting the 50+ animals I could slaughter for food in a pinch. Sickness? I had 20 Glitterworld meds and over 200 regular medicine, pretty good for a colony for less than 300 days in it. Heat/Cold? Pft every single one of my buildings had enough coolers and heaters in it to survive any fluctuation in weather with little to no disruption of my day to day activities, plus all my colonists had access to parkas/dusters depending on the weather. No, what ended my colony was something more mundane. Something human. I decided to start a second save game just to mess around with. I was planning on doing a caste-based mountain society where my original 3 would have access to the best bedrooms, dining rooms, and rec rooms, while everyone who joined afterwards would be my "worker ants" who had much less impressive facilities and did all the dumb labour. I had laid all my plans down, noticed it was getting late, and decided to pack it in. The next afternoon after work I decided I wanted to play more of my main account and finally make the push from mid to late game colony. I clicked the save. I loaded in to see my mountain base. Oh god... Checked all the autosaves, all the mountain base except for one "Rich Explorer" start which was the original "caste based" concept but I got bored with and moved on. Lesson learned. How viable is having no home base in 1.0? Posted: 01 Aug 2018 06:05 AM PDT I haven't played 1.0 yet (Been playing b18, but decided I'd try 1.0 finally today). In b18, I liked to just caravan the entire map selling things, and I was wondering if this was viable in 1.0? I'm not really sure of the changes, so I'm wondering. If it isn't viable, are there any 1.0 mods that make it better? I'd love to do another massive drug cartel caravan like I did in b18. [link] [comments] |

Procedurally generated towns/villages Posted: 01 Aug 2018 11:41 AM PDT Pretty much the title. I have an insanely dull sense of imagination and have trouble coming up with fun designs for towns that sometimes I just wish I had a blueprint or something to follow. If anyone has any suggestions for randomly generated towns that I can construct or just grab some cool ideas from I would really appreciate it if you could share the program/website.
