Having elite specializations show in the LFG would make Fractals and Dungeons more transparent. Now that Power Soulbeast is becoming more viable for Fractals it could prevent mix-ups with Druid. Especially for those people who don't read the LFG text for some reason.

Somewhat related it'd also be nice if the LFG could show group compositions for raids.

So the festival has been out a week so its time do do a review.

So over the past few months i have been working on a site to replace some of my old spreadsheets. The backend of it is an official api parser that I have built to be highly flexable and to cover a few niches that I have not seen covered, some of which I will show in this post.

Word of warning, some of the non imgur links will be cpu intensive as all teh calculations are done locally (Yes I really have to optimize), basically if the page is processing data for more than 3 items there can be quite a slowdown, imgur copy is there if it s causing you issues.

So now to go through teh different vendors for the before and now:

So one thing that should be clear is that Leather went up in value the least, and the cheapest items in general got the highest boost.

So earlier I talked about the niche things I wanted when creating my api parser, one of those things is Volume and Value.
If you take snapshots of the quantity of an item you can roughly figure out how many were bought and sold between the snapshots, with the volume you can get a rough idea of the value of the goods traded (Volume X Price).
When you have these values for one item you can then do the same with every other item and get a rough idea of the total Volume Traded and total Value.

Throughout the event Ectos accounted for 3% of the Volume traded but 5% of the Value.
Quartz was 7%-16% of Volume but a mere 0.5% of Value

Remember these are all estimates.
First Day: 45 million items bought/sold with a value of 5.4 Million gold.
Wait a sec taxes are 15% so..... Evon Gnashblade earned 0.8 million gold in the first day.
For the first week it comes to: 202 Million items bought/sold with a value of 27.5 Million Gold and taxes of 4.1 Million Gold

Speculation
This is where I diverge from hard facts and give my opinion.

Ecto Supply:
During this festival the best way to make gold is to farm Istan and sell all ectos ye get while they are high, this nets 40g-60g/hr.
This is one of the main reasons why I believe that it is not a good mats sink, while it is draining supply it is also incentivsing the production of new supply on another map entirely.
I believe that after this festival is over it will crash yet again.

The Zephyrite Supply Box:
Almost all of the value of this box is in the ultra rare tier, I think that if there was a decent account bound reward in mid tier it would be an incentive for more players to sink gold on getting it. A mount or glider skin here would have had folks manically buying boxes while appeasing a large segment of the playerbase (rightfully) complaining that glider and mount skins are gemstore only. If a F2P person got one then it would be as good as a reason as any to buy one or both expansions.

Functioning as a sink:
In some ways this event has functioned as a fantastic sink for gold, Istan only produces materials so each one listed removes 15% of its value in gold from the game.
Because I started tracking the total stats only a day before the event I dont really have a baseline of how much the event has effected it.
It will be interesting to see the data in a few months time to see how much this event will have effected the total sunk value

Hello, some of you already know me, since that's not the first time I'm talking about drawing your characters on that subreddit.

But right now I'm in need of money since I'm going to another city to study art (university) and for me to do this comfortable (and being able to play gw2 while doing it ofc) I need to collect some money before moving there.
I participated in 2017 Wintersday Zine, Tarot Cards Project and participating in this year's Wintersday Zine! And going to participate in future projects too (I'm a big fan of this game in general for a long time already).

A Hidden Gem - The Sailing Boat in Labyrinthine Cliffs

Going to keep this simple. I was exploring Labyrinthine Cliffs and saw a small beach where a boat with SITTABLE chairs docks. After awhile it began to move so I hopped on a chair and sat away. Turns out the boat sails around the bay as a little tour. It's not that it was a nice little gem they added but the fact that Anet has been working on moving platforms.

I understand how we have airships but the flow of the sailing boat on the ocean was just amazing not to mention this is a huge leap for Anet to introduce mechanics out on the ocean. I'm calling sailing ships in the near future, perhaps with the Bubbles Expansion!

On a side not, Anet came by and sat with me as we sailed around the bay! It was amazing!

Endurance on drift is great, but IMO allowing minor boosts early (like in NFS or with Raptor) would make Roller Beetle more engaging

This isn't a rant, nor a complaint, but a wish.

The last few days, I've been in need of bandit crests to finish that Bioluminescent achievement I didn't finish three years ago, when I stopped playing. Coming back, I decided this was something to do.

I didn't see any maps advertising in LFG, so I did what was natural to me. I tagged up and started Taxi in. I learn RIBA was a thing and it made me think: This is a map newly baked level 80s come for their mastery points, materials, loot, and new territory to explore. This map is very confusing. I'll explain it to as many as possible. I don't mind.

What is RIBA? (If you know, skip this)
RIBA stands for "Red, Indigo, Blue, Amber (yellow)". It's the prefered order of doing the fortresses in Silverwastes. Commanders of RIBA run from base camp, through these fortresses in that order, constantly moving and tagging events here and there. If they let fortresses die from time to time, I have no clue. The point of this is to maximize rewards over the time spent in the map. It is very rushed and you won't have much time for the fun chatting I got the chance to.

This was one of the few times I saw someone else organize a map. I joined his map, and got a great run.

I don't have a mount because I don't have Path of Fire. I'm not interested in it, at least not yet. People ask me for chest farm after the meta event. I tried once, but people complained it was so slow.Every time, I encouraged people to organize it. Out of the 30 rotations I've done past the last days, once has someone stepped up and done so.

People have asked for RIBA, something I cannot do without a mount. Every time I encourage them to do so. None has wished to take over command.

This person didn't start anything.

Looking around the few next days, I didn't see any other maps. Every time I went into SW, I started a map myself. I got people taxied in, and a lot helped me get more in. Every time, it took less than 10 minutes to get a very active map that was ensured to complete all events in the map.

Then I get this:

The white stripe is someone saying something rude to the orange guy. Unecessary for this post.

Did this guy go on to make a squad? Nope. Did he make a riba squad? Nope. Why not? Somehow, it is very scary to lead a group, even if the entire content is known to everyone in the group and explanations are completely unecessary. You don't even get a chance to apologize for your bad english!

Through these runs, I've seen a few comments on how it was so relaxing to do the meta events without riba run. In other words, do them chill, and just don't care to do everything so perfect and rushed! I tried to ask a guy about why everyone does it and not the chill way, and get:

Honest reply.

People somehow go into a new map, do what everybody else does, feel stressed out, sit quiet, and accept it.

If you have done the map a few times, can't you change it?

Apparently, you need to have 10 years of GW2 experience, 20 years of GW experience and 40 years of MMO experience to lead a group.

It seems to me that people are afraid to lead because they feel the requirements are high and the expectations cannot be met. You need to be a superb leader to even consider putting up the tag the first time.

Apparently, the last three years I was gone, RIBA has been ruling Silverwastes, nobody taxi into the map, because if it is SW, it has to be RIBA, and then you (the taxi) has to lead as well. Hell, I just put up a tag, got into a fight with a guy about what RIBA means, went on for three days with the advertisement "meta chill". Every time someone asked if it was RIBA, I said simply "no", and nothing happened. We just sat there, completeing round after round with Silverwastes in an extremely ineffective way, not caring about what the rest thinks, because the map is full and we're having fun! Lunacy! Now, where did I put my favourite septicaliper? In the octocaliper chamber?!

TL;DR: Please don't hesitate to tag up. If you want to talk, talk! If you want to help, help! If you don't want to talk or help, just put "taxi" in the description and do the map like you always do. You get your reward with more people, with higher chances of completing.

Midi Wars

Midi Wars is a cross-platform desktop application that translates midi data to key presses. It is especially useful for playing instruments inside video games.

PSA: Blessing of the Four Winds chest (5x Festival Daily) gives access to a special Zephyrite Curio Box (rare) with higher drop chances of Chak Egg Sac and alike

I just noticed a few days ago after doing the new Festival Dailys five times, that the reward chest for that, the Blessing of the Four Winds allows to choose the Zephyrite Curio Box (rare), which basically has a lot higher chance of e.g. Zephyr Rucksack Skin and special drops like Chak Egg Sac compared to the normal Zephyrite Curio Box - also looking to BLC and alike "uncommmon" is mostly still common.

Be careful buying gem cards from Amazon

Just a friendly warning. Recently bought two gem cards from Amazon and neither would activate in-game. Reached out to Amazon customer support and was told to contact the "games technical support" reached out to Anet and was told to contact Amazon. I think I am out of luck and basically threw away 50 bucks. To be fair, this year I have purchased a total of 15 cards from Amazon and it was only the most recent two that did not work. Definitely disappointed as I love supporting this game and Anet (have probably bought a total of 50K gems this year so far) but am totally turned off from being passed back and forth between CS departments.

Edit: actual useful info. These came in two sealed CD types cases but the cards themselves did not have the scratch off section. The other cards I have bought, historically did have the code under the coin scratch off.

PS: before the obligatory "why didn't you just purchase from the gem store" I use combos of Amazon points from a daily driver CC and gift cards I receive from family and I have purchased lots through in-game and Best Buy.

Update: After speaking with the escalation team and a supervisor - I have successfully been able to get the process for a return started. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts and discussion participation.

Any chance of updating the original mount license skin set?

It drives me nuts to see all those big ugly red gaps between the colors; I especially love the Badlands Stalker but the mottled red is particularly bad on that skin. I noticed they got much neater/cleaner dye channels on the newer sets and they look great even dyed solid light colors. Do you think they might ever clean up the original license skins if they re-release them?

After they unlocked my account with HoT, I'm now as free2play

Has this happened below with any of you?

I had the account blocked (in my case because someone was trying to access it), I did what the support asked me, how to change the game account password and email, I put the mobile authenticator and okay, they unblocked my GW2 account . However, she came back as free2play and I already have the HoT for more than a year I think activated it. The problem is that with this I have some certain limitations in the game such as chat and Tranding Post. Is there anything I can do to resolve this? Is there any alias I can put in the launcher shortcut of the game that solves this? Because waiting for the support of ANet is already leaving me with white hair, it has been almost 30 days that I await an answer and nothing so far.

Please be kind, no trolls. I am already quite annoyed with this, because every day I access the support page to see if I got any response and nothing to this point, every day I have had a disappointment and this is disturbing me to play.

Lost child in this festival

Hello all!

So I am new the the forum and to guild wars 2. I'm about to hit level 60 with my Mesmer and as a new player I wanted to know more about the festival of four winds.

I have made some great friends (thanks to my post a couple of days ago) but now I need to learn more!

So I've gone to one area where I was able to test fly a mount. Just so we're clear I crashed into the water and I should probably be banned from all future test flights.

So now what? I see there's some type of hunting event? There's also games?

I'm very confused with this whole event and want to know a few things.

1) As a player who is only level 59 is it worth it for me to venture over there now?

2) What kind of events would be beneficial for me?

3) Are events exclusive to the event zone or do they take advantage of the whole map?

4) What is the main goal of this event as a player? (Rewards, exp, collectibles, etc.)

5) As a person who likes to run through and shoot beams out of my greatsword and stab with my dual swords (if my phantasms don't blow them up first), what events do you think I would enjoy most? I am also not a fan of jumping puzzles so far 🤯.

Condi Engi Rotation Help

After the July balance patch and the revival of condi engi, I decided to dust off my old Vipers gear and properly learn the rotation. I think I have the rotation down, but I'm only getting 28.6k dps. I don't know why it is so far from Snow Crows's benchmarks even though I used the same food, utility and gear. I know I don't have infusions, but I don't think that alone would explain the difference. I'd like some help and constructive criticism on how I can push my numbers higher.
