Mostly due to pubg. I wanna get back into the Wasteland scene. Looking for good infantry focused wasteland servers that arent chaotic AF. I am not sure what is popular these days in arma. | How did they mean the Blackfoot to be used Posted: 06 Aug 2018 01:25 AM PDT Recently started playing with the Blackfoot in our unit. We use ACE which sort of complicated things. However, the main issue is with the cameras and targeting. Firstly, the gunner camera doesn't have a point focus function, such as the Wipeout has (being able to lock the camera onto a point or area to track contacts). This is kind of frustrating when you're moving and trying to lock an enemy. However the pilot can access a secondary camera which does have this function, seems a bit backward to me. Secondly, at least with ACE maybe those who use vanilla can correct me, it doesn't give you a laser designator unless you equip the "technically" laser locking missiles. The vanilla missiles are IR, but can lock on to a laser, therefore you can't use the vanilla missiles to lock a target without IR signature, despite the fact that they can lock on to laser if you have both equipped... Thirdly, though I think this may be ace compatibility, the locking/targeting doesn't function as I think it should. Logically you should be able to "target" a target, get info about it and have it circled (or squared) on your HUD, but not lock until you initialise a lock. This is useful for tracking targets at distance and not letting them know you are on to them. However, the current set up means that as soon as you target something within your cone of attack (45 degrees to either side of the nose) it immediately starts locking. All of this just seems to make the chopper feel not very useful, as it already has a small amount of munition, it just seems broken in how it should function. [link] [comments] | ||
| Looking for a good survival server Posted: 06 Aug 2018 12:26 AM PDT Hey arma community! An old friend of mine is gonna get a new PC in a few days. So we are looking for a good server (dayz/exile/epoch or whatever for both A2 and A3) where it's worth spending a lot of time on. We spent hundreds if not thousands of hours playing A2 epoch a few years ago. The server we are looking for should be more survival based. So it shouldn't be militarized with tanks, rocket launcher and stuff. We love basebuilding and fighting enemies (both player and mission AI aswell as roaming AI). Also it should be located in EUROPE or best case in germany. The map doesn't matter too much as long as the performance is good with all the addons/mods on it. So in case you know a server similar to what I described or if you are the owner of one please let me know! Thanks in advance. [link] [comments] | ||

| Posted: 05 Aug 2018 07:34 PM PDT My friends and I are trying to do Antistazi stuff, but every time someone wants to join, we have to save, exit, rehost the server, and restart. We've never been able to do any type of live drop in server. Is that possible with Arma? Or does the host have to restart the game every time someone wants to join? [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 05 Aug 2018 05:59 PM PDT I have made a nice mod. r/https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1466133821 This adds two Merkava MKIV tanks that are UGV vehicles. I have not seen a mod like this made yet, so here you go. This really works. You can only switch to the driver position from UAV terminal, then use the scroll menu to switch to gunner seat. I do not know how to add the commander position to a UGV. See what you think of this mod. It needs tweaking, but it does work very well. Would any military consider a UGV tank in reality? | Posted: 05 Aug 2018 04:33 PM PDT Hey boys not new to the game or anything, just don't know if there's some hidden easy way to do this. I like the ARCO and MRCO scopes and usually use them (I don't play with any mods or anything) because they're very convenient. On the bottom sight, is there any way to know exactly where to lead the scope when shooting at moving targets, or is it just taking your best educated guess? Because that's how I've always done it. | Can someone help me set up port forwarding. I'm at my wits end. Posted: 05 Aug 2018 12:33 PM PDT I've been trying to set up a server in Arma 3 for my mates to play some Zeus. Port forwarding has always been a no no for me and I've been avoiding it for as long as I can remember, but now I need it and can't figure it out. I have some basic knowledge of the internet, packages and how ports work, but I'm obviously missing something. If anyone has some experience and has some free time to spare, answer this post. The things I've tried include: -Forwarding the Arma and Steam ports -Adding rules/turning off the firewall -The UPnP thing [link] [comments] |
