I would like to point out a sub for those who are unaware Posted: 24 Jul 2018 08:59 AM PDT I often see questions about canon or retcons or lore issues, which I love and helps the community grow when we think together. If you have some of those questions, or lile answering them, head on over to r/falloutlore This sub has roughly 400k people (last I checked), and r/falloutlore has maybe 1/10 the subscribers. Edit: and thanks to u/Buttlet101 for also mentioning r/classicfallout [link] [comments] |

Posted: 24 Jul 2018 08:13 AM PDT I don't play FO4 that much anymore, but a while ago when I used to, I was doing the "Kid in a Fridge" mission and decided to deliver Billy to his family, but I was undersupplied with ammo and got stuck fighting and dying to a group of raiders led by 2 legendary raiders over and over again. I decided to just run away, but Billy was still with me and he just followed me and Cait around for a bit. At one point I was in sanctuary and accidentally meleed him causing everyone to suddenly attack him despite his inability to die. They even got in my power armor to fight him and ended up chasing him for a while. Now I just wander around with 2 companions and every once and a while accidentaly hitting him making Cait attack him. [link] [comments] |
Does anyone else feel there is TOO much combat in FO4? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 11:08 AM PDT It seems like every place you discover is a raider hub or filled with super mutants. You very rarely come upon a building with people you can actually communicate and talk with or even an abandoned area. That was something I liked in NV. Finding an empty hut or cave to know that there is something more there besides just killing enemies. I understand with the updated combat, it was something to feature. But god damn it doesn't need to be featured every time I go somewhere new. [link] [comments] |
Travis references Three-Dog in Fallout 4 Posted: 23 Jul 2018 10:52 PM PDT Sometime after finishing the quest to get Travis some mojo, I was walking around Diamond City, and I heard him say "You know, a good friend once told me 'you gotta fight the good fight'". If I hadn't been paying attention to a seemingly simple comment, I would have totally missed it. It's subtlety like this that makes the game so fun to play. Any other off-handed comments you guys have picked up on in the game? [link] [comments] |
Fallout 76 cross-play between PC and XBOX Posted: 24 Jul 2018 06:45 AM PDT Hi guys, I was looking some news about Fallout 76 and I saw that they will not implement cross-play for some reasons about Sony. My question was if there will be cross-play between XBOX ONE and PC (Steam). Regards, Fernando. [link] [comments] |
[All the Spoilers] I just took the weirdest path through FO4 Posted: 23 Jul 2018 09:04 PM PDT Basically, I followed the main quest along until I got to the part where you need to be a part of a faction to build the relay, so I became the reluctant leader of the minutemen, helped them regain the fort, and then went to the institute for the first time. I joined the institute because Father was Shaun and then helped the Minute Men for a while til we got to the point where we unlock the vaults for them. Then I fucked off to Far Harbor and became the Captain of Far Harbor, following in the footsteps of the angry dude, and killed all the synths and blew up the Nucleus. After that, I went back to the Commonwealth and did the institute quests, until the Battle of Bunker Hill. During the battle, I chose to free the synths - not because I think synths are people, mind you, but because I think free synths are safer than synths in the Institute's control. The courser wonked out, and then I dismantled him, then the synths I chose to free because they're synths, not people. After that, I talked to my son on top of C.I.T. and we basically came to the conclusion of "Fuck off, you're not a follower of the institute." and I went "Ok, son. Just know your institute is evil." After that, I joined the Brotherhood of Steel, did all of their quests, Danse glitched out so I couldn't kill him so Maxson got pissy, helped with Liberty Prime, and then we get to the director's room. I get out of my power armor, talk to Shaun man to man, and he basically says "you've doomed us, I'm getting old and dying." so I asked him if he was in pain and, when he replied yes, I put him down. After that, the fake shaun popped up and caused a complication, I went 'no hes a fucking synth get that shit out of my face and lets go' because I hate synths, not because they're synths, mind you but they just turned Shaun into a psychopath who thinks he fathered robots and I had to put him down with the same revolver Kelogg killed his mother with. So ye, that's my super abbreviated fallout 4 story. [link] [comments] |

How far has the Institutes synths spread in Fallout 4? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 04:12 AM PDT I'm wondering how far the Institute synths have spread. I know they're outside the Commonwealth because is a synth. Which means that there are synths outside of the Commonwealth so assuming they begin to spread after the first run of the human-like synths until the waking up of the Soul Survivor how far do you think they would have spread? Would we see them in New Vegas you think? [link] [comments] |

Posted: 24 Jul 2018 12:14 PM PDT While playing through Fallout 4 a few days back, I went into the General Atomics Galleria, into the bowling alley. The guy asked me for $5,000 dollars for a lane. Now where I live you can play a game of bowling for £5, or $8 for the US. Using this as a baseline, this means that the economy Pre-War is inflated X625 I can't be bothered to work out the percentages but is there any other evidence of similar inflation in any Fallout games? Edit: On a side note, the gas prices could have dramatically increased due to the resource wars in the years leading up to Fallout, and might not be an accurate reflection of inflation overall [link] [comments] |

Hello everyone, worst faction? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 12:25 PM PDT Hello everyone! In your opinion, what is the worst faction? Answer this however you like with your opinion of the worst faction. I understand some may be better at something, while others are better at another thing. This is kinda a broad thing, so any answer to how it is the worst faction is fine! [link] [comments] |
Why do Assaultrons look female? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 10:58 AM PDT I can't for the life of me figure out why they look this way other than perhaps they were repurposed maid bots? Does anyone have any input on this because fallout 4 tells us basically nothing about them. [link] [comments] |
Walmart just cancelled my PC Power Armor edition preorder Posted: 24 Jul 2018 09:31 AM PDT The email mentioned orders not processing...seems to me they just oversold the thing. What a bag of dicks. [link] [comments] |
Why has no on talked about how the BoS and Gunners have working APCs in F4? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 04:16 PM PDT We don't see them ever driving (due to the game's engine limitations) but there are plenty of implications. In certain locations on the map Brotherhood or Gunners will hang next to a APC with flat tires. Two examples of this are just outside the water treatment plant next to the dam and the junkyard near the Boston military checkpoint. At the water treatment plant I have arrived (to do the Greywater quest) and there would be no Brotherhood outside. After I finish draining the flooded interior and take the elevator up there would be a APC with a couple of Brotherhood soldier, sometimes one would be in power armor. They'd walk around and a vertibird would show up and pick them up. A similar thing happens at the junkyard. Sometimes when you come upon the junkyard there will be Gunners or BoS fighting the super mutants and a APC will be parked out front. Any other time there is no APC. There's even implications that the Gunners have-or at the very least TRYING to get a working tank. In one random encounter you can find Gunners working on a broken down tank. With tool boxes nearby. Why are Fallout 4 NPC's so unnoteworthy and indistinguishable? Posted: 24 Jul 2018 10:31 AM PDT One thing I've noticed on another runthrough is the NPC's at various settlements; even those that aren't randomly generated and have names and everything all have the same personality if you can even call it that, and no quirks or sense of motivations or reason for being at all. It's almost creepy and gives vibes of the uncanny valley or body snatchers. Any NPC that exists outside the main plot line is just kind of there to give side quests, after that they become any other nameless NPC. I had to actually research and look up names to put them to faces and learn lore after finishing. Even Fallout 3 had some memorable characters in various settlements (Sierra Petrovita, Moira, Dr. Zimmer, etc.) not that I liked them, but I can recall them and put a face to a name and such. Each and every settlement of previous Fallout's had a theme and character to them. A few examples of NPC's and settlements with quests I had to look up the names for: The Abernathy's - They are one of the first settlements you come across. You retrieve a locket for them. They have a cat. Sully Mathis - An undercover raider whom you fix underwater pipes for. Finch Farm - Retrieve son and family heirloom. It's been a long time since I've played and the only NPC characters whom are not absolutely crucial to the plot I could still name off the top of my head were Mamma Murphy, Travis, and Marcy. I'd have to think pretty hard to come up with any more names without having to look them up. [link] [comments] |
Old World Blues Expansion releases on the 28th! Posted: 24 Jul 2018 11:56 AM PDT https://www.reddit.com/r/OldWorldBlues/comments/90ptty/owb_dev_diary_6_update_11_the_broken_coast/ I'm very excited for this update. The Old World Blues mod for Hearts of Iron 4 has simultaneously revitalized my interest in HOI4 while doing a lot to slate my hunger for some Fallout that explores its southwestern roots. I happen to find the happenings in the Western American part of the world of Fallout to be extremely fun to play around in. [link] [comments] |
Fallout 4 mod where the fog on Far Harbor takes over the mainland. Posted: 24 Jul 2018 01:49 PM PDT I do realize that there are mods out there that make the Commonwealth a more hazardous place (Gas masks of the Wasteland comes into mind) but what if the fog that berates Far Harbor one day coasts onto the mainland, think of all the hell that would break loose. This would be a hardcore survival mod, on the lines of Frost or even Dust (my favorite tbh). -Most factions and almost every settlement would have broken up because of their inability to adapt to the fog. -New factions would form because of the fog (probably not but for the sake of things to do) -The fog would rapidly move throughout the Commonwealth, so areas would be completely uninhabitable while others could be safe depending on the time of year. -Giant, hideous monsters could lurk in the fog that if you see you might as well put a bullet in your brain. (Ok so what if I saw King's "The Mist") If done right this could be A GREAT survival mod. There are so many possibilities to toy with this idea and I honestly wish I could mod it myself, and I most likely will if I really put my mind into it. [link] [comments] |
