Is Pokémon Go worth playing for newcomers?

I remember how it was for me and I must say that I really sucked LOL. But the experience wasn't bad at all since I started in the beginning and I've got to say that it was great. Finding out about the best places to hunt, bumping into other people who played, defeating my first gym. I had a blast. But things have changed and with that said we veterans have learned to adapt as well as reap all of the rewards along the way.

Fast forward to the present. If we were starting out right now this game would probably not be enjoyable big time. As far as I can see it doesn't offer any reliable real world experience on playing such as why it's important to catch everything, pinaping pidgey, dust conservation, joining local groups, locating nests, following sites like The Silph Road and Pokémon Go Hub or reliable YouTubers like TrainerTips that all offer a world of knowledge on how to enhance the enjoyment of playing.Then you've got to remember that legendary pokémon wait for no man (or woman). How horrible would it be to learn that they are no longer accesible and that there's no timeline on when they'd return?

We've basically been grandfathered into this and like I said earlier we have been reaping the rewards all because we've ridden the storm. Seen the highs and the lows, everything in between and just like always we will make it through.

So back to my question. Is Pokémon Go worth playing for newcomers? Do they have a chance of succeeding? I'd say yes but the odds are not in their favor.

A player single handedly flooded our university in game. [Bug]

We had a local player decide to edit the Open Street Maps. He thought that flooding the entire area would add water spawns. It didn't... It did wipe out any and all nests that were flooded though. So with his one action we lost a vast majority of our spawns. We're an oasis in a sea of nothing in this area and loosing all of those spawns meant that we have lost the vast majority of spawns for this area.

I reached out to Niantic but have had no reply other then a canned message. If anyone has anyway to help fix this then please help us. It's terrible to loose so much for the actions of a single individual.

We have already fixed the open street maps data but this should be a HUGE warning to check your own area often! You don't know when some troll will get on and ruin your experience and you'll never know when Niantic will pull the data.

[Question] Where can I find more ghost

I've searched day & night near cemeteries & can't find one ghost at all, I am searching for ghastly to evolve to haunter but no luck, weather update doesn't help, any ideas on where I can find any more ghost, nothing in my neighborhood. Nothing near the church either.

We all know raiding at specific gym is necessary for triggering EX raid. Today 40 people raided Mewtwo, Does this help to trigger another pass on the same gym next time ?

This might probably be my fault, but I'm level 23, and it's my first account, meabing I didn't know the tricks to fast leveling or to saving my dust. However, what I didn't expect was to run out of all potions and revives. I tried walking around, sitting between two pokestops, near gyms, but it drops at a ridiculously low rate. Did I just pick my battles poorly or is this legit a problem with everyone? I am considering making an alt account and starting over...

[Question] Go+ connected to Iphone6(IOS 11.2.2) successfully, but does not pick/catch any Pokemon or spin Stop.

It works with my iPhone 8. I reset Go+ and connect it to iphone 6, but it just keeps quiet without doing anything when many pokemons around.

[Question] Cannot log in

Hello I have problems with log in (google account). I have to use my old mobile phone (Huawei Y550-L01, Android 4.4.4) and within last 2 days I am trying to log in into Pokemon Go. I cant even choose account bcs after i click "Sign up with Google" i see only "Unable to authenticate. Please try again". This is first time when I run the application on this mobile phone. I did everything what support sugested (https://support.pokemongo.nianticlabs.com/hc/en-us/articles/115005262507) and still it doesnt work :( I never used 3rd applications ect so its not ban. I have no idea what to do but in my opinion its problem with mobile phone. If you have any ideas please help me! I just want to go back and catch them all ;)

[Discussion] Let's talk PokeCenters

I was curious as to how the community things about how to implementing the Pokecenter and how it can benefit you as a trainer.

It was confirmed that these are going to be in the game at some point and I wanted to talk about it.

Condition Boost (now called CB)

You leave 6 pokemon inside the pokecenter and after a set amount of time, those 6 will have Condition Boost. It will work just like the Weather Boost, in that it will boost your Fast & Charged attacks by [x] procent. This boost is of course limited to 1 boost a day and for that day only. It opens some possiblities that certain Raids can be done with less people. Combine it with a badge, just like the Gym, to promote local play. If you were to receive a badge for a pkmn-center then it increases the percentage of receive CB.

Mother-and-Child centers

Every City has one Mother-center and several Child-centers within it's boundary. The child is fairly simple, you deposite and retreive the 6 pkmn which you want the CB for.

The mothers functions are different and you have to register your account to that center to receive notifications like Raids, Certain pokemon or Nests found. So this will function the same as known sites that use bots to scan.

This registration here will be for future ideas to build on. Some of which could be: Leagues, Battle Frontier, Quests and trading. If we take trading for example: both Trainers need to have a Mother-center registration that shows activities like raids, battles and catches within the boundary.

Last thoughts

It's not much but I don't think that AR implementations like 'Helping Sister Joy' or another thing like 'Expert Handler' have any kind of future if Android cannot follow iOS features.

The concept of a mother-pokemoncenter is aslo debatable. It could also be a 'City Hall Leauge' where this will all be possible and non of what I said changes. Ofcourse the mother-child has a lot of holes into it.

But a pokemon center which grants bonusses and information faster than the current market is a potential I find really intruiging.

How do you know which pokemon to use in a battle or raid?

I know this sounds like a simple question, but like most things in video games, I imagine that the answer is way more complex than I want to know.

I'm pretty new to the game and I know that CP stands for "combat power," so I would imagine it has something to do with that. It can't be that simple, right?

[Question] Cacnea increased spawn rate?

After the latest batch was released, I haven't seen a single Cacnea for like a week. Now they have become extemely common. Just today I've seen around 10 in my neighborhood. Has it become more common for any of you too?
