Posted: 31 Jan 2018 07:41 PM PST Does anyone know of a True Survival server that has at least one person that plays on it? I'm in love with the mod but the server I found seems to have been abandoned and I'm lonely! [link] [comments]

Posted: 31 Jan 2018 06:14 AM PST So I ended up starting a new game with Cheat Mode off...and it's been such a different experience (I accidentally started my first game with it on last time...what a snoozefest). I had the dumbest moment I've had so far... I was using a chem station in a gas station (the one near the Winter Biome) and got bored waiting for all my gun powder. So I start whacking at everything for resources...even all the lamp posts. While Lamp Posts don't pay well resource-wise I noticed that if I leave the Base Cyclinder alone I can create create a hovering pole... Well me being the fool I am I decide to stand under the rest of the pole and keep whacking away...until that is...the rest fell on me...killing me. Fun run back to my body...that's for sure. Posted: 31 Jan 2018 08:12 PM PST So I started a new game and found a junkyard in a patch of wasteland (I'm looking for a challenge) but it's also rather high in elevation. I'm wondering how deep I need to dig down to place my forge and avoid the heat map. Usually I just dig down to -52m or wherever bedrock is but that'd take forever since my elevation is +80m so far I've dug down to +55m. I'd assume I'll need to dig down to the negative levels to safely hide my forge? [link] [comments]

Canned boiled water not useful in recipes? Posted: 31 Jan 2018 07:14 PM PST Am I doing something wrong? I can't use canned bottled water in any recipes. On ps4 if it matters. Thanks! [link] [comments]

Posted: 31 Jan 2018 06:50 PM PST So I was playing on my Xbox 1 and was playing a private game with a buddy when all of sudden, my game crashed. This isn't common and often happens when I play the game for long periods of time. However, when I logged in, my whole base was gone. Everything from my workbench to my chests disappeared entirely. I was wondering if that happened to anyone else and if someone has a possible solution to get my base back? [link] [comments]
Farm Base w/ Catwalks = Easy Mode Posted: 31 Jan 2018 02:22 PM PST A buddy of mine who always plays survival games with me and I bought this YEARS ago and decided to give it a go again. We first hopped onto a public server and were playing, and it was fun, but we noticed people adding stuff to our base, the big one being a forge, which they said was a gift. That's cool and all, it's nice to help people, but survival games lose a lot of the feeling when you're not out there earning it. Free gifts can really jump start your survival, and we're not about that. I talked to another buddy who has a server and has hosted games like Ark for us in the past (for free) and after gifting him the game, he spun a 7days server for us. We ran with the default map and decided to go to the farm for easy access to water and food. We built catwalks going from the house to the garage, then out to the barn and the shed . We've got a tunnel going out of the barn to the SW near the water as our escape. We've got the entire ground under the catwalks lined with both types of spike traps. On day 7 we finished laying the spikes and got up on the catwalks. The spikes killed basically everything, the only thing we had to worry about was the zombies attacking the pillars supporting the catwalks and falling off of the catwalks. The fix for the first problem was running around the catwalks so that the zombies kept going through more spikes. We shot some arrows but it wasn't necessary. Day 14, same thing. Day 21, same thing. Day 28, same thing. We've now decided to go build a small bunker made out of iron/concrete that we will use for the next horde to try and make it so we have to actually try and survive. After how it's been so far we are really looking for a challenge. I'm not sure what the point of this post is, but if anyone needs a base idea to stay safe, make 4-6 "towers" with catwalks between them and spikes on the ground and you won't have to worry about a thing. I've heard of the harder zombies, but we have yet to see any. [link] [comments]
Posted: 31 Jan 2018 11:48 AM PST Hey guys me and my friend have been playing split screen local the past couple days and love the game. We just now finally made it to the trader after falling into basically the grand Canyon and digging our way out haha. Any tips for some newbies like us? We are working on making a forge currently. Both have a firearm and other quiet weapons. We haven't found many towns, but also haven't done a lot of searching. Still just camping out at places we find because we can't decide on the best place to build a fortress. Thanks! [link] [comments]
Is it possible to max out all of the skills by max level? Posted: 31 Jan 2018 10:50 AM PST
Posted: 31 Jan 2018 06:45 AM PST So myself and a couple of friends are doing our first decent playthrough having dipped my toes in a few times. We are on Navezgane and have taken over the cell tower near the farm as I'm sure plenty of people do. We hit day 21 last night, only playing a few hours a week, and I have been worried about my current improvements as regards Structural Integrity. Our progress on fortifying has been as such:
As part of this I also decided that we would move to a new larger home below the current surface buildings. So I mapped out and triangulated the dead centre which turned out to be a 6x2 rectangle, then dug it out and added a solid 6x2 concrete structure there as a central support. With this and the outside posts I thought I would be safe, unfortunately I didnt finish the entire wall by the time the 21 day horde came. They managed to find a week spot and started digging through the dirt and cleared quite a bit under the base. Now although nothing bad happened and nothing collapsed I started thinking about more supports. My main plan is to finish adding posts under all the wall, reinforced with concrete ofcourse, then to add 8 posts equidistant between the central support and the outside walls before I dig out all the rest of the dirt underground. However I'm now curious how it will work out with the giant radio tower above, and the house which we will eventually level either way. There is currently some kind of concrete as the ground of the POI which I hope to replace but not sure again how the tower will take to me removing a block and replacing a block under it! Mod to make more tool belt slots Posted: 31 Jan 2018 10:02 AM PST Once you get to the point you have all the tools and devices there is no where near enough space in your backpack or belt. Is there a mod to add more slots to the toolbar or just a second row above the current? Maybe with alt keys (alt+1 alt+2) or something? Thanks! [link] [comments]
So... chests can get destroyed THROUGH walls??(that aren't fully destroyed) Posted: 31 Jan 2018 04:14 AM PST Mostly a rhetorical question unless this was just a bug(doubt it), but... come on, seriously??? I just lost a whole bunch of crap because it was in a chest that was next to a cobblestone wall that was damaged but not fully destroyed. The chest was INSIDE a fully enclosed building. ??? Grrrr. How the hell does this make sense? Putting aside "unrealistic"... even within the game, I don't recall ever being able to damage a block behind the block I'm damaging. So... wtf? [link] [comments] |
