I hope the AI peace treaties get toned down a bit in the next patch. Posted: 30 Dec 2017 02:26 AM PST Finally won my first game on deity yesterday, but it feels like a bit of a hollow victory. I was playing as Germany, conquered two city states early but was totally peaceful after that. Saladin declared war on me and completely flooded my lands with mamluks. Admittedly these guys fucked me up a bit, they pillaged so many trade routes and districts. Problem is the AI is pretty bad at war, so all I need is a ranged unit in every city and to make sure I actually build walls, and I'm almost guaranteed to never lose a city. So I just let them throw bodies at my walls, wait until they've all been cleared up, and... Saladin gives me his 4 largest cities in a peace treaty. That is insane. A few eras later, Catherine did the same thing except with only a few units. I killed them and pillaged a couple of tiles before I declared peace, she gave me her 2 best cities. Despite me only killing like 5 units. That seems pretty damn OP in single player games. Despite having a total military strength of like 8 ranged units and never declaring war on anyone, I'd taken 6 great enemy cities, each with 4 or 5 districts and normally a wonder or two. The rest of the game was a complete stomp after that. Which kind of trivialises the game even at higher difficulties. Thoughts? [link] [comments]

What do you guys consider to be "good production" in civ 6? Posted: 30 Dec 2017 09:49 AM PST So I've been playing as germany a bit, starting on CiV VI for the first time and I'm wondering a bit what usually is the standard/what is considered good level of cogs produced per city in this game. Is an "official" world builder still coming? Posted: 30 Dec 2017 02:22 PM PST Or is the one that you activate in the game's files all we're getting? If so that's a damn shame because making maps is sometimes more fun for me than the actual game. I can't get it to load anything I make. It won't even save them properly. I found that out after spending all night editing an Earth map. [link] [comments]

How is Venice in singleplayer? Posted: 30 Dec 2017 05:57 PM PST I'm a bit newer to the game and I just bought the DLC through the big sale. Venice looks really interesting but I've heard that they're absolutely terrible in multiplayer. Could I still have a fun single-player experience with them? [link] [comments]

What is the best Civ for mid/late game warfare? (Civ V) Posted: 30 Dec 2017 11:15 AM PST Just wondering what nation is the best for warfare in the modern and atomic eras, with machine guns, tanks, battleships, and airplanes, etc [link] [comments]
What are some tips you wish someone told you before you started civ 5? Posted: 30 Dec 2017 05:43 PM PST I'm a domination victory type of guy, and after purchasing the game, I'm lost. What policies do I choose, what units do I build first, what should my production cycle be? It's all too overwhelming, and I'm asking this for the help if myself, who is in dire need of it, and for others who are lost like me. [link] [comments]
How do I add mods to civ vi on ios? Posted: 30 Dec 2017 05:10 PM PST Is it even possible? Completely new to the whole civ thing [link] [comments]
As a complete newcomer: V or VI? Posted: 30 Dec 2017 12:09 PM PST They're both going at a discount on Steam at the moment, with all of V for about 10€ and VI Deluxe Edition for 40€. I was considering VI but from what I've seen most streamers and Youtubers have moved back to V a while ago and I've heard it's overall a better game until VI gets more polished with expansions coming out. Has a big multiplayer game ever been hosted? Posted: 30 Dec 2017 08:14 PM PST I've been looking around to see if something like this has been hosted before, and to my knowledge nothing has been recently (at least not for Civ VI). Has there ever been some kind of massive Reddit Civilization game? By massive, I mean like 20+ players on a single map, using one of those websites that allows for multiplayer games to take place overtime. I can only assume not since that would likely take ages to be completed, but I just wanted to know if something like that has been hosted. In theory it sounds like something that could be cool and exciting, lasting maybe months at a time. It may even be more interesting if leaders of a civilization "rotated' every 50 turns or something, to simulate a real life scenario where countries change their leaders at times (which can often transform a country from a peaceful to a warmongering country, for example) and Diplomacy would likely be much more advanced since we are obviously real people. I would imagine actual treaties, agreements, and deals being made after the end of a war, which could be discussed here on the Reddit. Even more exciting if it were hosted on a TSL Earth map, with realistic locations and things like that. Maybe I'm getting a bit too ahead of myself, but has something like that ever been hosted here, and could something like that be hosted? How long do you guys think a game like that would last? (My guess is at least a year) Thanks! [link] [comments]
Posted: 30 Dec 2017 07:43 PM PST Hi, so I've just installed the game and when I try to start it I just make it too a black screen with "Loading, please wait" on it. It never finishes loading. I never even get to see an annoying splash-screen. I've tried excluding it from my antivirus (as that's what seemed to cause a similar issue at launch) but that hasn't helped. Some help would be much appreciated. PC Specs; GPU: 1080Ti CPU: i7 7700K RAM: 16GB (If any other info would be helpful, let me know) [link] [comments]

Posted: 30 Dec 2017 09:48 AM PST Has anyone figured out a way to play Civ 6 online, via a VLAN to play over the internet? I've been looking at different apps to simulate a LAN but haven't been successful. I use Hamachi on PC but I don't think these VPN apps on iOS will work for this application....
