True Dota 2 - Most impactful position by skill bracket

Most impactful position by skill bracket

Posted: 29 Dec 2017 02:49 PM PST

What do you think is the most important, game-impacting position by skill bracket?

ie 2k-3k 3k-4k 5k 7k+

Having risen out of 2k hell to 3.7k, it's my experience that in 2k hell, support is less impactful because of poor team play, and the poor mechanics most players have. Better to pick a functional carry/offlaner that can make big plays. But at the 3.5k+ level, most players have decent mechanics and understand basic teamplay, which makes support and 4 position much more important. interested to hear different opinions. 4k and up I have no idea as I'm not there yet.

Kunkka's Talents (Core vs Support)

Posted: 29 Dec 2017 07:09 AM PST

What do yous think of his talents?

6 Armour vs +40 Damage (Obvious for core but for Supp what do you take?)

10 HP regen vs 120 Torrent Damage

and

25 Strength vs +100 Torrent AoE

and since the last two are obvious which is for which, does the Ghost Ship fleet extend the duration of rum?

[7.07] Which mid heroes are in-meta?

Posted: 28 Dec 2017 11:16 PM PST

Heyall, I'm returning to DotA after a long break. I want insights from you frequent players; since I couldn't find any good source on google. And I usually play in 4-4.5 bracket.

Which mid heroes meet these requirements?:

  • Surviving enemy ganks during laning

  • Good late game scale

  • High teamfight presence

Omniknight builds for pos 3?

Posted: 29 Dec 2017 03:03 PM PST

When I'm playing offlane omni, what are the standard item and skill builds? Seems maxing purification is always best, but how valuable are points in degen aura? Do you ever skill it past one before maxing repel?

As for items, I've seen lots of builds, S&Y, drums, Radiance, midas, etc. Is soul ring and phase boots a safe bet for every game?

Think I'm gonna learn this hero, as it's seems to help your team a lot. Seems getting your team to work together is the key component to victory in my bracket (Legend 3), and omniknight is a great way to do that.

Recovering from rough mid laning.

Posted: 29 Dec 2017 02:03 PM PST

Just curious what people tend to do when in a rough laning phase in mid. Its rare for a support to rotate mid in low mmr games. Most times they flame you for even asking.

What tips do you folks have for getting back in the game after a rough first few minutes?

Hero Pool

Posted: 29 Dec 2017 11:49 AM PST

As im trying to reach 4K ( max until now 3.6 ). I wonder what its better to have large stable Hero Pool and play what the Team needs but having a prefer role (pos 3 in my case) o a small Hero Pool and Focus in 1 role.

Strong laners, position 4/5

Posted: 29 Dec 2017 01:03 AM PST

Let's say your carry is a Spectre and she is facing a cancerous trilane/dual lane. What supports would you pick to secure the lane? The first heroes that come to my mind are Undying, Witch Doctor, maybe even Wyvern.

Drow Ranger aggressive trilane

Posted: 29 Dec 2017 08:09 AM PST

Watch

The game was played in Divine bracket, SEA server. Drow Ranger usually starts at Mid or Safelane. In this game, however, I went aggressive trilane, letting our offlaner stay in bottom solo. I think this was a big decision which eventually led us to victory. Some things worked out as we intended to, and some did not. I got unconventional items (Midas, BoT, Aghs). I talk a lot about small and big decision makings throughout the game. Feel free to share your own thoughts about my decision at every stage of the game, I would love to hear many feedbacks.

Have a good day!

Enchantress offlane

Posted: 29 Dec 2017 06:50 AM PST

With the rise of trilanes, I would have figured enchantress would be in meta again, but she seems to suffer from a low win rate.

With just level 2, 1-1-0 build, she is very good at typing up supports since even three heroes have a challenging time doing much damage to her. Enchanting one of the large creeps at level 2 is basically like bringing a level 3 hero in to your lane to lane with you.

Her talents are pretty amazing as well, worth the exception of the magic resistance talent, all her talents can be picked on a game by game basis. I checked her dotabuff and while this week seems to have a low win rate for her, historically I've noted her win rate as being >50% in the 5k skill bracket although pick rate remains low. She scales well into late game (although you must remember to farm). At level 20, you are basically Chen with aghs, the ancients have some amazing abilities worth using (75 aspd and 15 aspd aura on triceratops creep, an aoe damage on the dragon and a really awesome root and armor reduction on the big purple guy)

Her big weakness is that she isn't an initiating pos 3, she brings damage and heal but no initiation which can be pretty bad if you pos 4 can't cover this weakness.

Lvl 2 Arc Lightning on lvl 3 Zeus

Posted: 28 Dec 2017 05:15 PM PST

Why is this popular? Seems like it's more intuitive to start levelling Lightning Bolt after a value point in Arc and Field.

Questions regarding laning phase on safelane

Posted: 28 Dec 2017 04:34 PM PST

How do you guys find farm when you are getting pressured a lot? For example I'm using AM, Jugg, Spec and so on, and facing 2 heroes that keeps on harassing me, controlling the lane, ganks etc. How do you still manage to get key items on the right time? I'm a Legend 1, and I'm still having troubles when faced off with 2 aggro heroes, losing my cool when I can't get my last hits and just goes jungle, leaving the enemy free farm. Any suggestions would be a big help, thank you!
