Is killing Doc Mitchell universally condemned by the fanbase? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 04:50 AM PST Seriously. He's an old man who got the bits of lead out of your head, for free; made you look fabulous again, for free; gives you a Pip-Boy, for free; gives you a gun and some clothes, for free. When you help Ringo defend against the Powder Gangers, he gives you medical supplies, for free. He's just such an all-around good guy that I can't even think about killing him. Killing him just makes me feel bad. (And no, I didn't kill him. I'd've been depressed now if I did) [link] [comments]
Just really noticed this but... Kellogg must’ve been one heavy smoker Posted: 29 Dec 2017 11:50 AM PST I mean he had to stop for a cigar like 4-5 times on like a mile or two walk to his fort. Plus he leaves most of the cigar unsmoked. [link] [comments]
Just had a great ending to a 40 hour fallout new vegas no death run... Posted: 29 Dec 2017 06:41 AM PST I teleported to sloan (the place next to the deathclaws.) After spawning I hear something breathing behind me. Suddenly a deathclaw stands next to me. I start running eating super stimpacks and a stealth boy but the thing hunts me down and kills me. Sometimes you can not avoid dying in this game. I actually for science reloaded a safegame and went to sloan by foot and the deathclaw always spawns in the middle of it attacking the people. I wonder if its on purpose. [link] [comments]
The biggest thing I miss about the Classic Fallout games. Posted: 29 Dec 2017 10:45 AM PST I miss the feeling of weight and power that came along with Big Guns and energy weapons. If you've never played the classic games you probably don't know this you had, say a minigun, Gatling laser, or plasma rifle. You seriously fuck shut up, at close range a Gatling laser will split a super mutant in half. Those weapons are the bane of your existence in the hands of enemies. But when you get ahold of them you gain the upper hand it almost all encounters. Now a days these guns are still powerful but are easily manageable when going up against and don't really make you feel like an absolute powerhouse when you got ahold of it. [link] [comments]
Radiation and addiction need to be more threatening to the player. Posted: 29 Dec 2017 01:01 PM PST Radiation in fallout 4 isn't threatening or even remotely dangerous to the player, considering the amount of radiation still in the fallout universe rad zones need to be more harmful and dangerous to traverse. Bringing back radiation sickness, massive penalties for getting irradiated such as special losses would improve the overall threat of radiation. Rad suits also need to be rare, expensive and much more useful for exploration in radiation zones. Always thought they were useless in the new fallouts. Being addicted needs a giant overhaul! It shouldn't be as simple as going to the doctor to get rid off it, fallout 2 addiction mechanic was a lot more punishing and favoured moderation, taking a drug in large amounts should also kill you! Also addictacol is purchasable at every shop in the commonwealth. This shouldn't be the case! It should be rare and only temporarily removes the addiction until you can actually find a doctor to flush the players system. Now I'm not saying make the game realistic. I just think some elements need to be overhauled to be more punishing with radiation and addiction. These are just my thoughts, if you have a better idea or something else you think needs improvement let me know :) [link] [comments]
Are Sheng Kawolski and Donny Kowalski related? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 12:42 PM PST In Fallout 4, is Sheng Kawolski, an orphaned water salesman in Diamond City, related to Donny Kowalski, orphaned and lone Wastelander who gives the "Here There Be Monsters" quest. I'm aware that their names are spelt differently but considering the Low literacy skills in the Commonwealth and the fact if they were abandoned they would have only heard their name, not learned how to spell it so the Kawolski vs Kowalski could just be a young child's attempt to spell a word. They look rather similar and seem a very similar age and considering the low number of children it seems like a large coincidence. They could feasibly be twins, abandoned at a young age but old enough to remember their names. Possibly forgetting the other, they went off to live independently. I know it's a long winded explanation for a basic theory based off, more or less, a similarly sounding name but I just wanted to hear people's opinions. [link] [comments]
Fallout 4 Far Harbor Opinions (Spoilers) Posted: 29 Dec 2017 10:51 AM PST So I know there are mixed feelings with Fallout 4. Some love it for some reasons while others love it for other reasons. Us Fallout veterans, we all like the other Fallouts because they focus on the important part of the game, and that is choices and consequences, something Fallout 4 clearly lacked. This post is going to be long. I was dissatisfied with the game until I played Far Harbor DLC. In a nutshell, it was an improvement as far as choices and consequences go. Not like a Fallout NV, but definitely a huge improvement. There are three factions, Children of Atom(nucleus), Arcadia, and the people of Far Harbor. I counted 10 endings to the main story line. Essentially, it is 1) Leaving Far Harbor alive 2) Leaving Nucleus alive 3) Leaving Arcadia alive 4) Both Far Harbor and Nucleus alive 5) Both Far Harbor and Arcadia alive 6) Both Arcadia and Nucleus alive 7) All three alive 8) All three dead 9) Brotherhood destroying Arcadia 10) Institute destroying Arcadia The last two are cheap and quick and with not many consequences so I wont mention them much. Now what determines these endings is information the player found about the different factions and who to talk to about that information. Also, each faction gives side quests, and the more side quests you do for that faction, the more that faction will respect, like they'll have different comments about you and sell you better items. The consequences go like this. If Arcadia is destroyed, Kasumi dies, and she cant go back to her parents. If Dima turns himself in, one of the vendors in Far Harbor dies as well as Dima. If it is revealed to Far Harbor that Avery is a synth, the player can choose to either let her live or let her die. If Avery dies, Allen Lee becomes the new Captain of Far Harbor, and they attack Arcadia. If Far Harbor is destroyed, it's safe to assume that the Children of Atom will take control of the entire island, since that's their ultimate goal, and if convinced to side with Arcadia, the two will live in peace. In fact, it's possible to convince any combination of two factions to live in peace on the island. If the Nucleus is destroyed, it's safe to assume that Far Harbor will thrive and spread thanks to the Children of Atom not being there to destroy their fog condensers. Now again, is it a Fallout New Vegas? No. Was it an improvement from the vanilla Fallout 4 game? Definitely. If any of you havent tried it out, I definitely recommend you to. [link] [comments]

Anyone else consider the DLC "Packs" in NV cheating? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 11:34 AM PST I mean, they give you OP gear right off the bat. I always throw the items away, it just ruins it for me. Anyone else like that? [link] [comments]
| Do conversations pause time in the original Fallout? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 11:05 AM PST Playing through the classic '97 Fallout for the first time and I just want to make sure I have time to find the water chip. I spend a lot of time thinking about these dialogue choices ever since I walked up to this guy and said the wrong shit. I know walking about the world makes time pass by checking my pip boy, and traveling wastes a ton of it. I can pause by pressing escape but that exits the conversation and may ruin some dialogue. | [New Vegas] Gotta love Veronica Posted: 29 Dec 2017 05:16 AM PST So anyway, I visited the Gun Runners' Arsenal, and decided that I must have the Fat Man. The only problem is that it's basically very expensive to invest into the Fat Man. The gun aside, the ammo itself is costly as well. What to do, what to do? Then I remembered that I was on good terms with the Brotherhood of Steel. I remember how I used to help them murder the Van Graffs. Instead of letting them take the energy weapons, I scraped up everything in that store and from the Van Graffs' corpses, and sold it for over 10.000 caps at the GRA. So I thought: why not? I returned to the Brotherhood. I hacked a console in the Head Paladin's office, and set their turrets to target registered BoS personnel (strangely enough, it didn't fire on me or Veronica). As expected, almost every single BoS member on Level 1 was killed. There was resistance, and they managed to take down the turrets, but the Head Paladin was killed in the chaos, so they blamed me and started attacking. Then comes Veronica. With a red lightsaber in her hand (mods), she cold-bloodedly murdered all of her remaining brothers and sisters. I was down to Merciful Thug-level fame with the BoS. Then she turned to me and she said:
(On the plus side, all the weapons and armor I looted from the Brotherhood's cold dead bodies were sold for over 20.000 caps. Talk about a deal.) Do you have any experience like that with your companions? [link] [comments] |
Posted: 29 Dec 2017 01:18 PM PST I had fame with the followers of the apocalypse and was doing okay. I had just joined the kings so I wore the jacket and took up the quest to help Rex but when I entered the followers of the apocalypse base they all started to attack me and Julie got killed making me unable to beat the quest does anyone know what is happening [link] [comments]
Just started the Old World Blues DLC for NV... wtf is this? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 03:31 AM PST It's probably the weirdest piece of dlc I've ever played and I'm not sure if I want to continue. Parts of it make me laugh but I'm pretty confused. It doesn't give much info on the DRs or how they became those floating monitor brain things. Will this be explained eventually? I've heard mixed things, such as a lot of fetch quests, should I reload a save or continue? I've spoken to them all and I'm pretty sure I even made Doctor Dalia j*zz by exhaling and rubbing my face (Lady Killer perk). I just.. wtf [link] [comments]
I've noticed that more and more people are getting into the older games (FO, FO2, FO3, F:NV) Posted: 29 Dec 2017 12:06 AM PST And this makes me happy because I'm getting back into them! All these new and old returning players are bringing up a lot of great discussion and I'm enjoying it oh so much! I just bought FO3 on PC and I've modded the hell out of it! It's amazing and has created an entire new Fallout 3 experience! The game is more harsh, the weapons are more punishing (and the enemies), and there are a variety of new mechanics that I've yet to even begin exploring. I feel I'll be putting another several hundred hours into Fallout 3. Have no clue where this post was going! Sorry for wall of text [link] [comments]
Am I the only one who can song the FNV radio songs by heart? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 10:18 AM PST All I did when I played through was listen to that radio and it really helped with getting me immersed into the game. [link] [comments]
What’s your favourite Fallout fact? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 10:10 AM PST
Posted: 29 Dec 2017 05:10 AM PST I know everyone is going to say oh go into it blind and just play but I already have with a meh build and I just could not get anywhere. So I was wondering if someone could help me with creating a build. (This is in NV) [link] [comments]
Linear Story Driven Fallout Games? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 02:23 PM PST I had an idea recently for a series of Fallout Games in the style of Wolfenstein: The New Collosus's DLC. It would be three different medium sized linear Fallout Games all with different stories focusing on different combat styles. One would be stealth based and would be set in New York City where the character play a member of a gang who's trying to retrive a rare pre-war set of weaponry from the hands of another gang. Another would be a "just fuck everyone up" style game where you play a more intelligent Super Mutant tasked with destroying another Super Mutant Tribes FEV tank by a settlement from California. The last one would be a vengeance story set in Texas where you play a ghoul who's hunting down a group of Brotherhood soldiers who went AWOL and killed your family because they were dirty degenerate ghouls. Any ideas what would make a cool story? I'd love to hear them! [link] [comments]
Posted: 29 Dec 2017 02:03 PM PST Trust me on this one, it's for the best. No one will miss him. [link] [comments]
Which workshop dlc should I get? Posted: 29 Dec 2017 10:13 AM PST I bought Far Harbor, Nuka-World, and Automatron, and I have about 5$ left. With the Sale on Xbox Live. Each costs about 2.50 with tax, and I need to know which ones to get; Vault, Wasteland, or Contraptions. Which one has the best items for settlement building? Which one adds the most new features, cause I really love settlement building. [link] [comments]
For My fellow Fallout 4/Nuka world lovers,What makes you love Nuka world? I love Nuka world. It's my favorite fo4 DLC and one of my all time favorites [link] [comments]
