Setting aside financial and visa issues, and the fact that 2017 Armada would probably use his knowledge of the future to become a trillionaire...

  • How long would it take for him to lose a game? A set? A tournament?
  • Who would be the first player to take a game/set/tournament off of him?
  • Which of his 2017 Melee skills (technical and strategic) would be most impressive to the 2004 Melee scene?
  • What would be his immediate impact on the 2004 meta?
  • What would Melee look like today? Which presupposes...
  • Would Melee be around today?

I've been playing Smash since 64 but only competitively since S4, so I'd love to see what competitive Melee players have to say about this.

Fight Pitt 8 is happening on April 7th in Pittsburgh, PA! We've got:

SSB4: What is the state of Mario in the metagame?

It's unfair to just base this on Ally since there are many other solo Marios who are pushing the character's metagame, but at the same time Mario seems to have dropped off in top level play compared to months before. What happened? Did people just really adapted or is Mario's matchup spread really bad now?

Welcome to an ongoing poll where we will try to see what /r/smashbros thinks are the 20 best Smash 4 sets of 2017.
