[VOD] Floe's 3rd Annual CPU Capcom Cup

Posted: 05 Dec 2017 06:18 AM PST

Hey guys,

so the other day Floe did a sort of "simulation" of Capcom Cup 2017 using CPU opponents. For those unaware - this is basically a series of CPU fights based on the existing bracket of Capcom Cup, and then doing a series of fights selecting appropriate characters, colors, and so on, until a champion is decided.

Floe did these for CapCup 2014 and 2015, and for whatever reason omitted 2016. So now while we're waiting for Capcom Cup 2017 to unfold - there's no better time to do something funny like this, and luckily Floe actually remembered this is a thing

The problem is.... Street Fighter V still doesn't have a local CPU vs CPU mode. So what Floe had to do is (you guessed it) boot up good old Ultra Street Fighter IV and just do the fights there. And since the Omega Mode was a sort of "beta version" of what we would see later in Street Fighter V - this year's CPU Capcom Cup used Omega versions of the characters.

Of course knowing it's Floe and how unpredictable the CPU opponents are - hilarity ensues. Will SnakeEyez reclaim his championship title for a third year in a row? Only one way to find out!

CPU Capcom Cup Day 1 - total runtime: ~6 hours

CPU Capcom Cup Day 2 - total runtime: 2 hours 45 minutes

P.S. Don't be offput by the fact that these VODs are so long - they are absolutely worth the watch. Anyways, enjoy!

Do you enjoy the SF V Main Menu theme?

Posted: 05 Dec 2017 06:37 AM PST

I was watching the recent Capcom Cup videos and heard the theme playing in the background. I realized I haven't heard it in a while because of how sick of it I was after season 1.

Currently my theme is either Kolin/Menat's theme.

Zeku Tutorial from Super/Ultra Diamond Zeku player

Is it better to learn a game on someone easy and progress to difficult characters in time or go right for who you want despite the difficulty?

Posted: 05 Dec 2017 06:57 AM PST

I've been playing Blazeblue and street Fighter 5 with a sprinkle of Guilty Gear since September 2017, showing very slow growth as a player.

I'm still trying to find characters to comitt to but I've noticed I have a little bit of a dilema on my hands.

That dilema is I really enjoy characters that some consider techinical/difficult.

I'll give examples of who I like in all 3 ;

Blazeblue ; Amane,Nine, Izayoi,Izinami,Rachel , NU-13

Guilty Gear; Venom, Baiken , I-NO , Bedman , Zato-1

Street Fighter ; Kolin, Menat, Ibuki, Dhalsim, F.A.N.G. , Chun-li ( She's both easy and impossible) ,

I feel like I should comitt to what I feel I enjoy but also what I enjoy is gimping me.

I suck at inputs that aren't quarter circles, my combo execution is loose, my defence is lame and I can't keep people out on zoners and can't get in on rushdowners haha.

Is there an ideal way to play that inherently would help me get better at the characters I want to play that's not just playing them or is that the only way to do so?

I'd also love it if somebody here could play me at some point assess my ability or point to some places in London,England where I could get irl help :p
