Queing is amazing! Thanks Tynan! Posted: 01 Dec 2017 04:20 AM PST For those who don't know, lats update gave us a manual queing mechanic, pressing shift will make the pawn make the manual job after they end the current one, be manual or automatic. Anything than can be forced to do can be queue'd, like shotting or farming. Some great uses are: Blight cutting, Equiping and moving, Specific job after sleeping, Treating, Hauling priority and a lot more! Thanks a lot Tynan for this feature, it makes micromanaging a lot more easier and comfortable. Love the new features +5 [link] [comments] |

Posted: 01 Dec 2017 08:03 PM PST So I stated another colony today cause why not. After a few of the usual raids and mad animals happen I get a random join. I don't look at him to hard since he just got here. Boy was that a dumb mistake. He starts a fire within the fist two minutes of joining so I arrest him. Then I get raided. During this raid he breaks out if his room and leaves the map. This man came to my colony, started a fire and then ran away. Like the title says, just another day on the rim. [link] [comments] |

Any mods that make pirate outposts harder? Posted: 02 Dec 2017 12:43 AM PST They are quite easy an uninteresting, not to mention they all look the same [link] [comments] |
Posted: 01 Dec 2017 04:50 PM PST I noticed that if you have devmode on in the map generation screen you can generate a 5% world. It's only a couple hundred tiles and maybe 5-8 Faction colonies. Have any of you played on this size and how is it different from the others? [link] [comments] |

That time raiders dropped into my dining hall... Posted: 01 Dec 2017 07:27 AM PST It was a lovely day in Sorrow's Oasis. A cool 28C with a nice warm breeze out of the east. The colonists had just finished the initial construction phase and moved out of their original temporary barracks. They had a large freezer, kitchen, impressive bedrooms, a workshop, barn, storeroom, and a large dining area. The colony was, for the first time, self sufficient and not in any immediate danger. Cue immediate danger. While entertaining guests in the dining room, the colonists were shocked to hear the raid alarm blaring. They looked out over the walls as far as they could see, but spotted no raiders, and were quite confused. Until the drop pods crashed through the ceiling and smashed the dinner table to splinters. The militia was quickly formed, but the poor colonists were badly outnumbered. Luckily, Visitors from a nearby settlement were on site (literally. Several were crushed by the falling pods). The firefight was swift and brutal as the dining room became an impromptu killbox with colonists taking up positions at each of the four doors. Guests in the room were quickly gunned down by the raiders, but they bought the colonists time to get into position. The raiders fell shortly after, caught in a crossfire. Several colonists were wounded, but none were lost. Impressively, three prisoners were taken, one of which eventually joined the colony. In addition, three of the guests who had been gravely wounded were rescued and nursed back to health in the half-built hospital before deciding to join the colony as well. All was well for a week, until raiders dropped through the roof of the storeroom. What the hell, Casandra? [link] [comments] |
Any mods that make serious injuries more common and plain-out death less common? Posted: 01 Dec 2017 06:53 PM PST Dont get me wrong; I can deal with colonist death. I've had 4 already. Its just so unsatisfying when one of your oldish colonists plain dies in the middle of battle. I like when they have an arm lopped off, or an organ gets messed up and I have to work to replace it, rather than just burying and forgetting. It makes them feel more "badass" for surviving losing an arm and a leg, and coming back even better. [link] [comments] |
