I don't play Minecraft, but my father and son do, and I was pretty moved by something my dad showed me.
I found a sort of "oasis" plains biome completely surrounded by desert

I did a house makeover for my friend while she was away for a few days! (she doesn't like building that much but prefers to dig out awesome and huge underground homes) She was really happy with it so I decided to post it here too :)
Update on my 100% Survival Minecraft Castle
I made a small witch hut (Still working on the interior)
Built this inspired by this awesome image I found (look at first comment) Anything I can add?
This is the world I have been working on for 2 years now, it features the castle of Noddenheim, the multi-level pyramid maze (now finished) of Arrenheim, the spire and church of Velkirk, and the whole city of Triton.

It's 5 am, but instead of sleeping I've spent the past few hours building this on an SMP server.
I combined 3 enchanted bows which I got from fishing and the results is hornet
I built a survival house, what do you think?
Just some builds I have been working on. One is a small house. One is a flaming arena. I like both of them. Any suggestions for adding any aesthetic touches to either of them? Also if anyone has any suggestions for building styles please share.

My family got together for Christmas yesterday, I am divorced and don't see my son as much as I would like, and my parents see him even less, so it's special when we all get together. My 10-year-old son loves Minecraft, LEGO, and MCU. My 67-year-old dad is into PUBG, Hearthstone and Minecraft. My son is shy and my dad can be a little awkward, maybe trying a little too hard.

Anyway, I asked my dad to pull up his Minecraft world(?) to show my son. My son had only ever played on an iPad, and my dad plays on a pretty high-end rig with 27" 4K monitor. I don't play the game, but I know enough to realized that as my dad showed us his world, he had put years of work into it. It was sprawling, with a tracks and trains, and whole massive rooms for storing things, traps for bad guys, etc... Seriously huge.

As we were all looking at it, and he was describing all his designs and features, I saw a big cross in the distance and joked that he had made a Minecraft church. He said, no, but that it was a memorial of sorts. He paused for a second, and said he had never shown it to anyone. He walked over to it, and it was a memorial for his parents, who had both died in the last few years. He had written their names and favorite bible verses on bricks at the base. He told my son and I that playing Minecraft, and building this memorial for them had helped him deal with his grief. It was a rare moment of vulnerability for him and I was humbled to see this side of him with my son. Anyway, video games really do have the power to connect us and even to help heal.
