This is an opportunity for the more experienced LoL players here to share some of your wisdom with those with less expertise. This thread will be a weekly safehaven for those "noobish" questions you may have been too scared to ask for fear of downvotes, but also can be a great place for in depth discussion if you so wish. So, don't hold back, get your game related questions ready and post away, and hopefully someone can answer them! Slows may increase movement speed if you have more than 135% slow resist Posted: 04 Dec 2017 04:41 AM PST First of all you can reach 100% slow resist by having phase rush (75%) and boots of swiftness (25%). Yep, they stack additively. Second when you get to 135% slow resist (with the rune unflinching) you will be able to increase your movement speed if someone slows you. For some reason it doesn't increase when you have 110-120-125% slow resist. Update: It's not about reaching 135% slow resist. It's just about using the first passive of the rune Unflinching when you have 100% slow resist "You gain 15% slow resist and tenacity for 10 seconds whenever you cast a summoner spell.". All the other slow resists stack until 100%. Only this 15% surpasses the limit making you have 115% slow resist, video. Taric has Boots of Swiftness and the rune Unflinching. He also proc-ed Phase Rush. Popularity of runes in patch 7.23 Posted: 04 Dec 2017 08:37 AM PST I've crunched a bunch of statistics for rune popularity in patch 7.23. You can find the report online here. That page has a lots of tables of numbers, here are some of the interesting findings: Keystones Resolve and Inspiration (tank and utility) are significantly less popular paths than the DPS paths. Sorcery is the most popular keystone path, people who take it take either Summon Aery or Arcane Comet. Precision is the next most popular; pretty much everyone takes Press the Attack. Domination is third and is most common for Junglers. Electrocute is by far the common choice. Resolve is not nearly as common. Folks who take it take Aftershock 1.5x as much as Grasp of the Undying. Inspiration is the least common primary path. Most everyone takes it for Kleptomancy. The top 3 keystones account for 56% of all keystone choices. The bottom 3 are taken only 2% of the time. Lesser runes Triumph is the single most popular rune in the game, followed by Coup de Grace. Scorch is very popular, 2x as its late-game alternative Gathering Storm, Pretty much no one takes Waterwalking. Those who do tend to be junglers. Inspiration is the least popular path, it's most common for supports. Cosmic Insight is the most popular reason to take it. Magical Footwear, Future's Market, and Biscuit Delivery are also notably popular. Almost no one takes Minion Dematerializer. Of those who do, Lux is the primary user. There's more interesting stuff buried in the numbers here. I'm hoping to prompt some discussion about what runes are working for people and why. This report is based on data on Lolalytics. Unsealed Spellbook + Hextech Flashtraption -> Summoner spell blocked Posted: 04 Dec 2017 04:12 AM PST I started using Unsealed Spellbook and Hextech Flashtraption on my Runes for Skarner and I've encountered something that got me rather upset after it happened again and again. I start the game with using the Ghost and Smite summoner spells. At some point in the game I changed my Ghost for Flash. Then things start going south. After I use the Flash, Hextech Flash should be available, which it is. BUT I cannot use Hextech Flash. It is available, it says that it is ready when I ping it. It even correctly shows me the cooldown, if I enter combat with an enemy champion, it correctly shows a 10 second cooldown. After that cooldown is done, I still cannot use it. Furthermore, after the cooldown of Flash refreshes, I am unable to use Flash as well. It's kind of grey and I cannot cast it. It always says something along the lines of "You can not cast that right now". Furthermore, if I exchange the Flash back to Ghost, or any other summoner spell for that matter, it stays the same. Only upon death, the summoner spell becomes "unlocked". I can then use e.g. Flash again, but as soon as I do, the same thing happens and I am not able to use Hextech Flash after the cooldown. Is this a bug? Am I just not understanding the Unsealed Spellbook rune? This now happened to me three games in a row and thus I am trying to figure it out. Attached is a video in which the following things happen: Shortly prior to the start of the video, I flashed. Then I tried using Hextech Flash over the wall seen, which did not do anything. As you can see on the top left and from my pings in the chat, the spell indicates as ready. After the video ends, I move back to the fountain, Flash comes back up, I try to Flash, nothing happens. Inven Reactions to Khan's "4 Chinese / Can't Win" Posted: 04 Dec 2017 08:17 AM PST I translated some of the most upvoted posts in Inven regarding Khan's recent scandal, in chronological order of the dates they were posted. Title: Khan, take out your enter key before you play the game Content: [Image of official apology statement] How many times has this happened already? This was only yesterday LOL. Just play without your enter key. Most upvoted comments: "Saying 'can't win with 4 Chinese' doesn't seem that harsh" "It's hard to win even with 1 Chinese" "LOL isn't it the problem that the Chinese are playing in the Korean server in the first place?" Just looking at Westdoor's reaction, he seems to have taken the comments as racist Even though he is Taiwanese, not Chinese, his mood changes after reading the chat. In these discussions regarding racism, it is important to know what the person hearing the comments feels. "This is right. We keep arguing whether this is actually racist or not based on our perspective, but that's wrong. Only those who hear those comments can decide whether that is racist or not." If I was Khan, I wouldn't reform If you are good at the game, they will praise you even if you flame, and even when you make racist comments, they say "true, true I agree," so why would you reform? LOL @ crying racism when the outrage is actually because of Khan calling a Taiwanese person Chinese Taiwanese people really hate being called Chinese. The players Khan matched with were Taiwanese. I would understand if you were mad because Khan called them Chinese, but because of racism? LOL. "Their country is not even acknowledged and they come to our server and speak Chinese, so how are we supposed to know if they are Chinese or not? Maybe if they wrote "Taiwanese" on their foreheads." TL;DR: Some initial reactions were saying "it's not that bad," and there were many backlash posts condemning that sentiment but the most recent post backlashes THOSE backlash posts after it became known that the outrage was not because Khan implied Chinese players are bad but because he called Taiwanese players Chinese.
