Casual player breaks 50k DPS...

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 04:01 PM PDT

I don't post often, but I've finally hit a personal goal of mine that I wanted to share - breaking 50k on a solo dummy parse. 50.5k dummy parse

I've played off and on since the game's release, and have never been even close to what is considered "good DPS". I haven't completed hardly any difficult vet content for fear that I would drag the group down with my lower DPS.

I wanted to share for all the casual players who feel like reaching the meta is unattainable, and who seem to get stuck at the 30-35k plateau. I've spent about 4 total hours practicing over the past few weeks, and went from 35k to 40k, and eventually to 50k. My gear changed slightly, but not much.

So in short, keep practicing and learning from your mistakes, and most importantly - have fun doing it! The muscle memory will come!

Disclaimer: I by no means consider myself an amazing player, and I'm sure I'll still die way more than I'd like to admit as I tackle vet content...

Werewolves and you

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 08:43 PM PDT

So tomorrow the reveal stream of the Werewolf dungeons are coming out, you're excited because...... God Damn Werewolves. In preparation for the DLC you might want to try being an Angry Doggo yourself. So you start asking around zone chat to see how you can become a Werewolf.

So first there will be a lot of people offering to give that sweet gift from Hircine for a Modest price, after all you wouldn't want something for nothing, no one in Eso gives anything for free, right?

Wrong, don't fall prey for buying a Werewolf Bite, either from a Player or from the Crown Store. There are plenty of players willing to give you Werewolf(or Vampire) bites for free!

Join a guild, go to /r/esobiteme or even just go to your alliances Werewolf(or Vampire) Shrine, someone there will offer you a bite for free 95% if the time.

Go and spread the gift of Hircine for it is freely given and don't fall prey to people trying to make a fast buck.

The Colossal Aldmeri Grotto is 500 crowns away from the total cost of every DLC in the game in one purchase.

Thoughts?

Its a nice home, but 2 years of content is a long time.

[News] - WOLFHUNTER & UPDATE 19 PREVIEW

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 08:19 AM PDT

Got my first house ;w;

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 08:14 PM PDT

So I'm kinda newish to this game as I started playing ESO around Summerset releases and I have been slowly leveling a khajit warden. Today I was able to finally get myself the house of silent magnifico. Not as cool as the clockwork city notable houses and it may not be the best looking one but I really like the design of it! Now to decorate it. (This game is amazing btw, I wish I got it sooner!)

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 07:39 AM PDT

Hey, guys i was checking old crates and they have some amazing hats, hairstyles and costumes for low gem cost comparing to new ones, i am not an old player though started to play the game while infernal crates was out but i think we need better loot from them. What are your thoughts about it?

Im honestly so hyped for these werewolf changes that will be coming with the next update

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 11:57 PM PDT

I'm hyped for these changes because they mean that Zeni hasn't forgotten werewolves/vampires exist in ESO and are an optional subclass. I've posted something about this once before, but I've always felt that the werewolf and vampire skill lines were kinda meh and I didn't like how they didn't have any sort of quest line or story arc involving your character despite it being a PRETTY big deal. You just do a quest and boom, very rarely hear about it again. What im referring to by them not forgetting that they have a system like such is Zenimax haven't really touched werewolves OR vampires since release like, at all. I get they made a few small changes here and there, like with the vampire ultimate, but nothing to improve and add depth to a, imo, NOT really deep as it should be system.

((WHILE I understand that vampires are meta right now, Im not talking about whats meta and what isn't. What im saying is that there isn't nearly as much depth to vampires/werewolves as there should be, essentially. Not talking about meta at all.))

Why do these changes make me hyped? Well, it lets us know that they certainly aren't strangers to adjusting the subclasses, and I hope that this is just a small test or something to see how the community responds. As I still do personally believe that, considering this is an ES mmo, there is certainly a way to make vampires/werewolves more /deep/ than they currently are.

A little brief idea of what could happen is: What if they gave werewolves and vampires entirely new skill lines? Specifically vampires since they only have 2 abilities and 1 ultimate, it doesnt feel right. They could add in "hub" areas for each faction that can only be accessed if you're the respective faction, accompanied by some sort of hunter/dawnguard subclass. (since lore wise they were actually formed around the second era) Along with actual QUEST lines/story arcs for each.

Over all I feel like this is a step in the right direction, I've been playing this game for a long time and I'd really love to see an update to the vampire/werewolf system or some added content, so Im glad they're finally throwing a bone, if you will :P

(Apologies for the word wall btw, Im just really passionate about this subject.)

What is expected of me when I ask text chat or guild members to craft hundings and night mother’s sets for me?

Posted: 06 Jul 2018 12:42 AM PDT

Am I expected to provide mats and/or compensation? I'm not even sure what the etiquette for this stuff is.

Finally!!! Respect improvements!

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 12:39 PM PDT

From the update preview here: https://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/26439

In addition to the new PvP features, Update 19 also brings a host of quality-of-life improvements and additions.

Respec 2.0

With Update 19, you are be able to make smaller, more precise changes to your Skills thanks to the updated respec system. With this update, when you reset your Skill Points, you are able to remove Skills individually and are not forced to re-add all of them from scratch, much like how you respec your Champion Points. You can clear all your Skill Points like normal if desired, but this new system will mean that if you only want to make a small change to your character's Abilities, you can!

ESO: Collection

Posted: 06 Jul 2018 03:39 AM PDT

So I'm thinking of getting the Collection and I'm curious, I realise that the website shows what I get out of it but does the collection include ALL DLC? Or is it just the ones listed, seems stupid to ask but its fairly costly and I just want to make sure I'm getting my bang for my buck. Thanks in advance

Tankplar - Am I wasting my time?

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 02:34 PM PDT

Hey folks,

I'm fairly new to the game. The first character I made since the initial beta phase is currently a level 5 Templar with tankish ambitions. The whole paladin-sword-and-board-tank idea seemed very appealing, so here we are. Now, I've been doing some reading, as you do, and it turns out Templars aren't exactly the best choice for tanks in the current meta. So, my question to you:

As a casual player, am I going to hit a point where people won't want to group with me, because of my class/role combination, or a point where I simply can't tank effectively? Frankly, I'm here mostly for the RP, but some organised PvE from time to time would be nice as well.

Thank you for your time!

Polish steel vs Lycanthrope gray.

Posted: 05 Jul 2018 11:51 PM PDT

Is getting polished steel gray even worth my time? I'm hoping it's lighter than Lycanthrope Gray. I don't want to go for it if they look exactly the same, or if it's darker than Lycanthrope. Comparing on heavy armor pieces.

Requesting Character load

Posted: 06 Jul 2018 03:29 AM PDT

Hi guys,

I have played ESO since launch and have never encountered this kind of problem. Since a few days everytime I login to the game and then enter the world with my selected character, the game is stuck on the "Requesting Character load" window. After 1 minute or so I get sent back to the login screen.

I have repaired the game, reinstalled the game, created the firewall rules for all the files bute nothing seems to work.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Beginner crafting question

Posted: 06 Jul 2018 03:05 AM PDT

Hey guys,

Sorry if this is a basic question or has been answered before. Didn't find an answer after a quick google search, so figured I would just ask. I literally started playing ESO yesterday so if you could keep that in mind when answering it would be appreciated.

Question 1. - I am confused as to how I am supposed to research traits for my gear with crafting. I just crafted a low level set of gear (it is all 8) and noticed all the research traits are locked and it doesn't show how I go about unlocking them.

Question 2. Is a magicka sorc a good well rounded class for both PvE and PvP? I will be mostly playing with one or two friends, so will be trying to duo or trio a lot of content. If not, please suggest something that is capable of doing both! Thanks

First time player - short question

Posted: 06 Jul 2018 02:49 AM PDT

Hey, to keep it short, I always play Tanks in games. Usually those Tanks can also respec(e.g prot paladin >retri paladin in WoW, 2h guardian > tank guardian in LOTRO, etc) so they deal damage when they face easy boring solo content. I've heard that tank DK is a good tank. Can the class also pull a ton of damage? Sorry for the probably dumb question, this game is overwhelming
