A lot of negativity over on DestinyTheGame right now. Here’s my warlock taking a selfie with Zavala, he actually stuck a pretty cool pose. Or maybe he’s just fed up because I’m here taking selfies instead of dealing with the Vex. Hope all of you are enjoying the DLC for what it is. :)

During the final fight of CoO Panoptes never attacked the guardian directly. Furthermore, he never tried to kill the guardian. He studied the guardian instead. At first he throws small packs of mobs of various types to study how the gueardian acts. Then he throws larger packs of mobs. And when the studying is complete, he simply tries to remove the guardian from the Infinte Forest. Not to kill him. After two attempts Panoptes realises that he is about to die and tries to escape. The rest of the story is known.

So, I'm not trying to question if Panoptes is evil or good (he's neither, he is сonvergent, as follows from the lore tabs of one of the armor sets). What I'm trying to say is that trying to interact with Panoptes or even trying to enter the Infinte Forest with the source of Light was a huge mistake. Panoptes as we have seen in the intro of the CoO has recieved the ability to see the Light (not sure how exactly, but it has something to do with Traveler awakening). That's why Osiris kicked Sagira out from the Forest. Because if Panoptes learn how to simulate the Light, he will eventually find the timeline in which Vex sucseeded. Osiris showed this Dark Future to the guardian. But Vex still don't know which time line leads to this feature. Osiris thought that if we destroy Panoptes, this will prevent Vex from finding this timeline. But he was wrong.

Well, essentially, he was right. But Panoptes is just a machine. Destroying him will temporaly slow down the process of searching for the correct timeline. But the fact that Panoptes got the opporturninty to study the guardian and the Light in a proper test, will acelerate the process significantly.

By the end of the story of CoO we did not defeat Vex. We helped them. With the results of the test that Panoptes had made, Vex will learn how to simulate the Light of the Guardians and how to confront it.

Well done, Guardian. Well done, Sagira. Well done, Ghost.

I usual feel like they are whiners, but damn are they starting to make sense.

I haven't purchased the DLC, but I've been frustrated due to being locked out of content that was previously available AND the Prometheus Lens wrecking my Crucible fun (Anybody that duals me with PL and loses to my Dire Promise gets a moist teabag. So satisfying to ruin their "fun").

I know the devs don't owe me anything; I just want to be able to enjoy the game without having to be suspicious of every move that Bungie makes

It's like my wallet is my attractive teenage daughter and Bungie is her creepy soccer coach that wants to "help her stretch."
