Mark your calendars—we're hosting a Q&A here on r/heroesofthestorm on Wednesday, November 29 at 12:00 p.m. PDT! We've assembled a crack team of seven Heroes developers to answer your questions about the 2018 Heroes of the Storm gameplay update that just hit the PTR, including the new camera perspective, stealth rework, changes to the early game, mercenary camp updates, voice chat, performance-based matchmaking, and more: Attending will be:

Blizzard needs to put HL/Competitive rework as their priority Posted: 20 Nov 2017 03:17 AM PST As a decently new (3 months) player who hit GM in Korea and NA, I want to say that I fell in love with the game, but the matchmaking system has been horribly designed and left behind. Now it's actually affecting the competitive scene and killing the game. One of the Korean pros said that in his retirement stream one of his reasons for quitting was there's no future prospect in the competitive scene due to the weak amateur scene (HL), and either RRR or Raven (The two disbanded teams in Korea this season) have said that one of their major reason for disbanding was the difficulty of recruiting players due to the weak player pool due to HL. They have said that ranked is the practice ground for amateur, pros and the scene is destined to crumble if the practice ground is weak. I believe other players in Master/GM would also agree, the HL system is a joke right now. Many players opt into smurfing or just playing QM only because of it. Instead of putting manpower and resource into other things, can Blizzard please focus on the things that matter? Even from the top of my head, I can come up of things that should be basic for a competitive moba.
What disappoints me the most is that most of these changes are very easy changes, it's easy to implement. Korean HoTS players are jokingly calling their game "Game-like" (Basically saying it's not a full/actual game) because of how poorly designed some features of the game are. I love the game and I became very involved in the last 3 months as I quit my other games and started HoTS, but it hurts me to see the game lose players and get ridiculed for such basic things. The new game play changes on the PTR definitely make HotS feel more like a complete MOBA. Posted: 20 Nov 2017 05:11 PM PST The changes to lanes are actually a lot of fun to play with. I got to play a Xul game on the PTR just to see how effective a push champ can be and even with the changes I was able to push a whole lane down in just two or three waves. The towers not running out of ammo didn't seem to be as oppressive as it was made out to be. Likewise the health globe changes are amazing. In my Illidan game I really felt like I was being rewarded for aggressively forcing my opponent back out of the lane just long enough to grab the globe. The stealth rework was harder to really see the fruits of, the PTR games I've been in have had no less than 3 to 4 stealth heroes in it, so maybe when the changes go live it'll be easier to see (ha) the changes. So far so good Blizz! Keep it up! edit: Forgot about the camera changes too! Going back from the PTR to the normal servers, it's night and day. I need those camera changes live asap. Now that the PTR is here, can we get any kind of dev input on the "Walls" changes? Posted: 20 Nov 2017 02:20 PM PST /u/felewin has posted a well-argumented topic not so long ago regarding the wall changes (automatically destroyed once a Gate Tower dies), especially in regards to Heroes that can interact with structures. Rejoice! Gameplay Update Patch on the PTR Today! Posted: 20 Nov 2017 07:08 AM PST All of the changes announced at Blizzcon should be available for testing on the PTR today (tomorrow at the latest)! Get hyped! Season 3 ends on December 12th, which is three weeks away tomorrow! Since the PTR is supposed to last three weeks, the devs said they want these changes to launch with season 4, and PTRs have historically started on Mondays, today should be the day! New Junkrat Change on PTR: Simple Geometry Posted: 20 Nov 2017 07:39 PM PST As you can see in this link, Junkrat can now see the geometry of the walls and structures close to him, making it easier to bounce grenades off the wall! It was shown that Hanzo had the same feature it seems, so maybe it was mentioned before... but I didn't see anything in the patch notes for Junkrat, so I figure'd it might be good to make note of it here.
