Honestly, Liquid

Posted: 28 Nov 2017 03:17 AM PST

Since GH joined Liquid, they have played in 10 major tournaments. Of those 10, they have gotten first place in 7 of them.

Seven. Out of ten. Honestly, I didn't really follow Dota before TI3, but I don't think any team has shown this much dominance in every tournament they participate in. Fan-gaying aside, this is pretty impressive.

If you count Midas Mode, that's actually 8/11. I guess by eliminating Liquid from ESL Secret managed to prevent 9/11 from happening again.

Hey fellas.

Just wanted to drop by and say that I'm very grateful for how kindly you treat me and my work. I was gonna do this big write up but scraped it in favor of keeping it simple.

Thank you for the support and for being so nice to me. It gives me an amazing boost to keep doing what I do.

Cheers,

NonRock/Martin!

I met my best friend in dota, after a few months we found out we live 20 minutes apart! Dota2 and all games are just amazing how it can bring people together. I have a 5 man team and these are the ages 16 15 14 32 19 This just shows how no matter your age or political views or anything dota can bring people together and create life long friendships.....or u meet totally cancerous kids in pubs lol

Are there many Older Dota 2 players out there (40+)

Posted: 28 Nov 2017 06:57 AM PST

I would like to hear of other older players and how they got into playing Dota and how they find it now as opposed to when they started? i dont talk dota with anyone in RL, to my own generation dota is a mystery. shock is the common reaction i get if i talk about my age in game so i rarely do so.

me, I have always played games, in the 2000's i played mostly CS, then CS source, got a beta key for Dota in 2012 and been hooked since then.

my 20yr old daughter thinks its cool that i play dota, my wife is not so approving i suspect, sometimes i play a bit too much and i know it pisses her off, but thats hardly suprising in a marrige, no one is perfect.

I have started to notice that my mechanical skills are deteriorating and i definately have difficult seeing whats what in big team fights with all the particles and stuff filling the screen.

As a dota player i spam a lot of CM (i'll soon get to my 1000th game as CM), i am not great in roles other than support becuase i fixate on enemy heros, so i am a very limited player in my opinion, but i dont have the inclination to change that. playing how i play is just too much fun for me.

Pretty much title. CD stays 5s, while tooltip says 3.75.

EDIT: This was tested in a bot game, same can be replicated in demo mode.

I cannot win anymore, and it is my fault.

Posted: 27 Nov 2017 09:28 PM PST

EDIT: This is a bountiful amount of information to help me, with a lot of resources, people offering help, and advice. I will absolutely try this all, and while I tried responding to everyone before this exploded, know that I have read everything in the thread, and I cannot say how much I have appreciated it. Add me if you want to, this has been so helpful and delightful. Thank you all so much. I may make progress posts in the future if people are interested, even though I don't like reddit too much, but moreso Dota and its community are the only reason I use it. I will try my hardest to improve.

I don't know what it is. I pretty much never use reddit anymore these days, but I need help. I have never been this angry at anything before in my life. Dota is my favorite game, and I have been losing lately. A lot. More than I ever have before, and I have 4k+ hours since Ti3. I was very chill, I used to be so patient, and while I did bitch about teammates to myself, I never flamed people, and kept calm on the mic to be civil in communication, and muted people if they instigated.

I know these losses have been my fault. I do not blame my team, I do know I need to learn more. I want to try more lately. But for the life of me, I can't win anymore. It's not the patch either, I was winning when it game out, I did really well with Pango, too. But I started losing a bunch starting last week, and it got me in a funk. I tried to get out of it by studying techniques, bettering myself as an individual player, practice last hitting, watching games, using the prediction technique, used Cookie's ranked tips, more support, more core, meta picks, offlane picks, you name it. Been just beating down on myself to get better because I want to improve at my favorite passtime apart from studying. I was too aggressive here or there, too focused on x there, didn't push when we needed to here, and I just tilt so much harder because it feels like a mountain of mistakes I've noticed on my back.

Nothing in my life has caused this anger. Life is great, I'm doing well in my career path, I don't have depression, I have no complaints. It is literally just inside Dota. I still love dota, I love the game, I keep queuing. I try to rosh, ward enemy jungle when ahead, only necessary fights, but I keep fucking up even when we have a super hard lead, it feels like every game I've had was SO close to victory, and just failed miserably somewhere. I know it is my fault. I am calm through a game, do well, fail, and explode in anger at myself now. It is my fault, I know it. I want to improve. Wins are so few, and are usually flukes it feels like, from them throwing to people feeding. So undeserved and few. I must get better, I need help. For my sake, for my friends' sake, for my sanity and my pride. I just want to do well in my favorite game. Please help.

I can take the criticism. Please tell me what I can do better. Sorry for the long post.
