My skin concept for Cu Chulainn

Posted: 08 Jul 2017 10:50 AM PDT

HiRez Servers are experiencing issues.

Posted: 08 Jul 2017 07:11 PM PDT

I don't think Hi-Rez understands the concept of promoting a game.

Posted: 08 Jul 2017 07:28 AM PDT

I mean if you want your SMITE players to try out your HoG game you'd reward them with the skin/other for actually playing the game by doing a quest or something like Blizzard does all the time by giving away OW skins for playing HotS.

But you're straight out selling the Venus skin (same for Enyo's bundle) which is not very compelling for a 15$ purchase and won't increase your playerbase much, unless you don't care about doing so from the get go and only trying to get some of the sweet whale money.

If you think Smite's chest system is bad, go play Paragon.

Posted: 08 Jul 2017 07:46 PM PDT

I am a chest hater through and through. I want to actually use my money to BUY what I want, not gamble.

That being said, we don't have it that bad over here. Dupes are not possible, and once you buy in, you increase your chances to get the skins you want, even if they should be buyable.

However, Paragon, a free MOBA by Epic Games. They have this system called "Loot Crates".

Think of this as our chest system. However, there are 200+ish items in there. There are recolors upon recolors stuffed in there to increase the count every patch or every week. Some characters have skins that have 6+ recolors in the crates.

Now, not only that, let's say for example, you have most the "common" items in the loot crate, yes things are tiered. If you were to roll after getting most "common" items, you have a chance to get Rep. Which is that game's Favor.

So you can spend, oh lord I don't know how much off the top of my head these things are seeing as how they drop from playing, but the keys for the most part to open the crates are purchase only barring a few exceptions but those are rare.

So let's say you buy $10 worth of keys, expecting to get stuff. Well if you buy $10 worth of keys and have most the "common" items, there is a chance you will get nothing but in game money.

https://streamable.com/2u272

That is not mine but an example from their reddit. He had all the common items or most of them. They are calling for a complete boycott of the loot crates. Yes, there are some white knights who like over here would rather gamble their money away instead of buying things direct but what can you do, fankids don't use logic.

TL:DR. Paragon has smite's chest system but if you get most of the common items you can get their equivalent of favor instead of an item.

Da Ji inspired nail art

Posted: 08 Jul 2017 09:54 AM PDT

Hi guys. I really liked DaJi's color scheme and wanted to make something inspired by her. I made the nails super glittery and extra ( the bauble in the middle finger spins , and the gold is the foil from a reeses cup with glitter ). This was my first attempt at something complicated. Im almost done with a Hel nail set to, ill post them later. Thanks !http://imgur.com/a/nv03I

Can Arachne get a cleave on her third auto?

Posted: 08 Jul 2017 10:49 AM PDT

Arachne already has all the tools to be a good solo laner other than her inability to clear at all. She definitely could use a buff, and her third auto in her hit chain already looks like it comes across her body and could be a cleave. Something as simple as that could make her viable in solo lane as an early game bully, as she's already a great boxer with sustain and has an ultimate that makes her incredibly safe from ganks.

Whats the nicest thing anyone has said to you in game so far?

Posted: 08 Jul 2017 04:18 PM PDT

As the title says, whats the nicest thing you've heard from other players while playing. It could be from an platform doesnt matter really

For me it would have to be being told that I was the best khepri that someone had seen so far. Put a big ol' smile on my face

Is anyone else really thrilled with support builds right now?

Posted: 08 Jul 2017 06:25 AM PDT

Not having to build specific auras really allows creativity to come in. There are a lot of options to buff your team or debuff the enemy. Only thing that's annoying is having to build pestilence to help deal with bracer right now.

Why is Sun Wukong suddenly being played a lot more?

Posted: 08 Jul 2017 09:05 PM PDT

Seriously, out of my past 8 games, 6 of them had me pitted against him in the Solo lane and one had him in the jungle. As someone who likes playing janky, off-meta stuff in the solo lane in casuals(I've been having a lot of fun with Fenrir lately), this monkey being a completely unkillable lane nuisance has been driving me nuts, and I was just wondering who was responsible for this annoying flying monkey suddenly getting popular again. I haven't seen him this much since the Blukong meta.

Fix customs games please! :D

Posted: 08 Jul 2017 06:24 PM PDT

People should not be able to hold me hostage by spamming f10. Only the host should be able to pause Why the hell are we STILL missing lobby chat? People should not be able to rejoin my custom after I kick them, lots of trolls like to try and be funny rejoining them. People should not be able to join my customs if I have them blocked, I highly doubt people want to play with the person they have blocked in their customs.

Customs was introduced years ago and these things still haven't been fixed...

It would be nice to have an option to toggle skin icons in game

Posted: 07 Jul 2017 08:18 PM PDT

As title said, what if you could toggle skins and their icons in game to look something like this. Have this disabled to begin with as to not confuse new players, while being able to enable it in the options menu as a personal preference.

Idea for player base increase?

Posted: 08 Jul 2017 02:28 AM PDT

I feel like a good way to increase the player base would be to fix those advertisements (The ones that look like Virus ridden 'games'):

https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/53/85/34/538534deb3de23c035d9d82c84c2c955.jpg

https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/236x/cb/19/90/cb19906f1ffc84a5acc4d1ddc3ebf14f.jpg

and also stop making them appear on the weirdest websites. I usually see them on websites that I usually try to adblock else I'd be bombarded with virus "I-pad won" pop-ups.

Another idea would be to try and stop development on new gods/items/maps, fix the current item issue[s] (bracer of undoing) and get accustomed to Unreal Engine 4. A graphical overhaul with a trailer showing the improvements could bring in a large amount of new players. I understand that moving/remaking textures is a pain or may seem not worth it, but I think it will help.

What do you guys think?
