New Kit the Traveler Story Narrated by The Krytan Herald

Posted: 07 Jul 2017 01:55 PM PDT

The Kryten Herald plans on making a machinima out of this as well. Listen through the YouTube link, read for yourself, or both!

Kryten Herald's Twitter https://twitter.com/Krytan_Herald/status/883351714237120516

It's been a rather boring month for Kit and Mr. Sprinkle. Even though the company is doing very well, Kit can't help but feel so bored. Kit is leaning back in her chair, tapping her foot while humming a song, when a note slides underneath her office door. She gets up with a start and opens the door, but nobody is there. "Hmm, another discreet customer, I bet." Kit says to herself. She opens the letter; it reads:

Prosperous Kit,

It seems you've grown lazy in your search for your family's history. Apparently your capitalistic nature has overtaken your once intense desire for the truth. In order to keep you honest, I have undergone the investigative work for you and have enclosed the location of an artifact I believe you'll find to be very important to the Traveler family.

Good luck, O

Kit's eyebrows shoot upward. "Sprinkle! Adventure time!" she shouts. Sprinkle's hooves could be heard throughout the warehouse and suddenly he was at Kit's door, eager to set out. Thankfully, they don't even have to travel that far. The letter marks an area just north of Lion's Arch. It seems odd that it would be so close but, then again, Kit never thought to search so close to the cities, thinking it would have been just too easy.

Kit loads Mr. Sprinkle up with a small amount of supplies and provisions and they set off toward the Gendarran Fields. During the trip Kit went over the note a few more times, seemingly a little disappointed that they didn't have to travel that far. She was also pretty certain there weren't any locations here that haven't been found already. Nevertheless she and Sprinkle pressed onward; what else could they do? The map marker brings them to a section in the north-western section of the Fields, where a newly-formed cave now resides. The mouth of the cave looks freshly-dug and footprints still litter the area, indicating this has seen a high amount of traffic recently.

They move in cautiously. Mr. Sprinkle is doing is best to be sneaky, but no amount of slightly crouching would silence the rattling of the packs on his back. No light sources have been installed in this cave yet, so Kit had to light a torch in order to continue. The cave lead deep into the earth, deeper than Kit imagined it would go, until it finally opened up. The torch could not illuminate very far, but Kit could barely make out what looked to be storage containers and barrels.

Mr. Sprinkle shoves his way in and his pack knocks over a barrel, which rolls into a stack of more barrels, some of which roll into a pile of lamps, breaking them open and spilling the oil. Another smashes into a crate, spilling dynamite with long fuses. Kit suddenly realizes this must be a demolitions cache! Mr. Sprinkle panics and bumps into Kit, knocking the torch from her hand, which soars through the air and lands onto a fuse. Kit and Mr. Sprinkle high-tail it out of the cave, making it to the cave opening just as the explosion strikes, throwing them clear of the cave.

Ears ringing and aching all over, Kit slowly gets up to review the damage. Mr. Sprinkle is already up and about, but stumbling a little. Kit giggles a little when Mr. Sprinkle turns around, for the explosion has singed the hair off his butt. As she stands, she's startled by a cool breeze and realizes her pants have been burned, exposing her butt as well!

Muffled screams are heard from a man running up to them. He doesn't seem worried, so much as angry, about what has just transpired. The ringing in Kit's ears make it difficult for her to understand, but his anger is more apparent now that he's closer.

"What the... are you doing? Oh, my gah- I can't believe this! Why would you do this? What is wrong with you?" the man muffle-screamed. He runs up to the cave mouth, cursing and flailing his arms all the while. Kit and Mr. Sprinkle decide to use this distraction to escape with their naked butts exposed all the while.

Adventurers! Kit and Mr. Sprinkle's latest exploits have left them with an injured "pride". Send in 5 cloth for bandages (some aloe wouldn't hurt either) to help them recuperate. Send the items to "Kit the Traveler" or "Pixie.5940".

Where is the line when rezzing someone in PvE?

Posted: 07 Jul 2017 01:05 PM PDT

So, little scenario for you guys. In a veteran fight, giant worm thing. It's tossing out poison and all kinds of stuff on the ground. Someone else fighting the worm next to me gets pummeled over and over but I've managed to dodge most of the attacks its thrown out. Other person dies but there is so much going on that after several attempts to get the guy up, I just can't stand still for that long without putting my own life at risk too. I tell him to just run back and he got really mad at me. Like, really really mad, calling me rude things mad.

As if it's my fault his dodging skills suck ass..

So my question is, was this bad form on my part or his? I haven't played GW2 since the last Dragon Bash, but I do know my way around a character well enough that I know that if I tried to rez that guy, I'd have died too. I feel guilty for not being able to get him up but there's a line, right?

Please, Please give the new elite specs good legendary effects.

Posted: 07 Jul 2017 01:16 PM PDT

I have no idea if this is a common complaint ir not but one of my biggest gripes with HoT is the lack of good legendary effects for elite spec weapons. Scrapper is the most egregious example, but many others leave a lot to be desired. The more cool effects a legendary has, the better. The more skill-specific effects it has, the more I want to have "burn me, it's a stingray" engraved on my tombstone. So please, for the sake of people who like looking at cool shit and feeling special, dont skimp on legendary effects with the new e-specs. Especially mesmer.

Also if phantasms in general could have legendary effects on their weapons that'd be great, HOPE feels reeeeeeeal lackluster on mesmer at the moment.

EDIT: Apparently this was unclear. I'm not talking about skills having a lot of effects on their own. I'm talking about skills having cool extra effects when you have a legendary equipped ala the greatsword skills on warrior or other similar stuff.

Encountered a funny bug in personal story

Posted: 07 Jul 2017 07:12 PM PDT

My wife and I are getting back into GW2 and doing the personal story missions and our characters have been keeping close to each other in terms of progress. Today we were both ready to do the cutscene where Destiny's Edge argue in Old Lion's Arch (around lvl 40) and so we did the instance together.

Now my character had aligned with the Vigil and hers with the Whispers. However, she initiated the instance and I got a prompt at the end saying I had satisfied the requirements to do my next story mission. When I clicked on "Continue" thinking that we wouldn't have to watch the fight twice in a row, my warrior had now been switch over to the Whispers instead.

It's obviously something caused by us doing the same instance together and getting put on the same branch rather than having our stories split again, and I've never done the Whispers missions so I'm not that annoyed. I just thought it was a funny thing to share in case this was relatively unknown.

As you can see from the screenshots, I finished part 3 with the Vigil, but ended up in the Whispers in part 4 after we finished the instance

Need help regarding silverwastes build for a ranger

Posted: 07 Jul 2017 07:06 PM PDT

So I've looked online and I'm getting a lot of conflicting info about farming the silverwastes as a ranger. Would you guys be able to tell me what the preferred weapon set, build, and armor (prefix and runes) setup would be?

How do the races of Tyria feel about the player sylvari character (and its entire race) after HoT?

Posted: 07 Jul 2017 03:16 PM PDT

Note: I did not play HoT with a sylvari character.

So, in short....

Word got out sylvari are modremoth minions, the pact doesnt trust them and are trying to kill them even. Then modremoth died and the sylvari race is trying to "find their place in the world". But what stance do other races of tyria have with sylvari? Are they only friendly towards the commander (player character)? Or do they still not trust them?

Pistol/Shield Condi Engi

Posted: 07 Jul 2017 05:04 PM PDT

I'm in desperate need of help with my for fun something diff up in ere WVW build. Sick and tired of power hammer thus.. here we are.

My main question is:

Would it be better to focus on poison with Thorn Runes or confusion with Perplexity Runes.. I'd rather not spend money on perplexity if it's a weaker choice. I feel as though answering this question would also better help me picking skills to slot. I really like tool kit for the extra block and confusion stacks but i also really like elixir gun for the gtfo and condi clear + poison stacks. Ideally I'd like to only have one of these kits and swap one for bombs (utility)/grenades or perhaps an extra stun break as warriors are an enormous problem for me.

Some input from experienced players would be much appreciated!

Is getting ASC from Fractals/PvP borderline useless?

Posted: 07 Jul 2017 03:34 AM PDT

I was just comparing prices and noticed (example of crafting an asc medium helmet):

Via PvP/Fractals: roughly 65 gold (3 grandmaster marks + 5g) ----- Via Crafting: roughly 70 gold

So basically, isn't one better off just farming the materials needed for crafting instead of relatively "wasting" time in fractals if one is only in it for the asc? Im aware of a possible drop of asc equipment, but the rarity of it makes me wonder whether that is a worthwhile trade off.
