Posted: 27 Jun 2017 07:08 AM PDT Lately I just had this thought about bristleback and armlet of mordiggan and I just don't get, why people are rather buying vanguard than armlet. Armlet gives armor, hp regen, hp and the ability for armlet togglets, which is a godlike tool for pros. These are all things, that bristleback can make really good use of, especially the armor. Armlet is really good on heroes, that are already hard to kill like lifestealer or huskar and bristle is no exception for it. Is it just a meta thing or is there anything I'm overlooking, when thinking about vanguard instead of armlet? [link] [comments]
Why has clockwerk suddenly soared to the tops of winrates and pickrates? What has changed? Posted: 27 Jun 2017 12:43 PM PDT As the title says, I'm confused about how clockwerk suddenly became popular and successful out of seemingly nowhere. I asked my 4.5k friend (for reference I am 3.5k) and he told me that it's because people just remembered that clockwerk exists, and that doesn't sound too right to me. Looking at recent changelogs, the only things that have been buffed are his Strength gain from 2.9 to 3.2 and the replacement of his respawn talent for extra battery assault damage. This alone doesn't seem to be game-breaking. Is it just that other offlaners have been phased out because of the removal of 0-minute shrines? If so, that doesn't explain why I'm suddenly having much more trouble dealing with clockwerk; it seems like he always wins his lane and his hookshot initiation(s) went from just being a nuisance to outright successfully killing whoever he goes on. Is it a new item build? Or maybe he counters the current meta or Flavor of the Month heroes? I'm truly stumped and if anyone can ELI5 that would be great. Thanks for reading. [link] [comments]
| Posted: 27 Jun 2017 11:26 AM PDT 80% of the time i get Axe before enemy picks hc, they go Ursa, and its always a lost lane since i cant rely on my chances in spinning, while he for sure will end up killing me. Sups will zone me while he farms phase boots and after that they can roam as much as they want, because i cant contest the lane. Recently i got a pms, tangos, and tried to farm jungle near offlane, but his sup would chase me there too (thank god i had wards), while the other would get stacks and help him controlling the lane so i never had creeps under my tower for almost 10 min. After a while he got his phase + orb of venom and that was it, couldnt show up in lane anymore. After tranq. boots, i went for dagger, blademail and hallberd, since after berseker call he would usually pop ult and try to kill me. Any ideas of how to deal with this? I will say in advance that i tought about completely leaving the lane and going full jungle (would have more levels and farm) but the fact that i was around offlane, made his sups stay around zoning me for 5-6 minutes, so at least i kept his sups busy, but not sure if was worth it. | Is Soul Ring on Bristleback good? Posted: 27 Jun 2017 11:10 AM PDT Soul Ring gives decentish hp regen, mana regen (which doesn't help BB all that much considering the amount it gives), but the ability to spam abilities. His fairly high HP regen lets him spam soul ring on cooldown which is more quills. The biggest drawback I see here is delaying Vanguard by a little but Soul Ring can enable faster farming through quills once again. The new Recipe (with mango) could also let u start off with something like 2 mangos (once for actual mana if required and the other for SR.) I haven't tried this yet but was thinking if its worth it on a hero like BB. [link] [comments] |
When you first started playing dota (1st or 2nd) what was the biggest thing that drew you in? Posted: 26 Jun 2017 10:05 PM PDT Back in 6.whatever, comeback mechanics were a little more significant so you were able to comeback at any point if you played your cards right. After coming back from mega creeps and won in a couple of matches, i got hooked [link] [comments]
How to build Gyro around Aghs? Posted: 27 Jun 2017 04:57 AM PDT Usually I go straight to it after Phase and Aquila but this is sometimes painful if my team's early game goes badly. [link] [comments]
Where do you FIND detailed info on hero itemization & matchups? Posted: 26 Jun 2017 10:51 PM PDT Where would a 4-6k player go for example to learn a new hero in depth. What items to use vs different situations & enemy drafts, and all the matchups for that hero. Ive really been having trouble finding good info for learning a hero in-depth. Dotabuff statistics on matchups dont explain the WHY behind the stats, and are questionable anyway because they use games from all levels. Wikia pages are also very generic and basic in their explanations of itemization & counters / matchups. [link] [comments]
Lycan meta build vs old school build (pro games) Posted: 27 Jun 2017 01:41 AM PDT If you are not familar with his meta build I mean the mask of madness, armlet build (sometimes armlet into mom) and by his old school build I mean vlads, necro. Now I've played a good few games with both builds and I feel they both have pros and cons. However in these TI qualifiers I keep seeing lycan pick ups and they ALWAYS go the meta build. My question.. do I just suck and is the meta build currently miles better than the old school build? Or are the pro themselves a bit guilty of spamming what's "in vogue" if you will. One game in particular I watched on the moonduck stream yesterday, I forget which it was, it was late in the day. The teams lineup was Lycan, Viper, Earthshaker, Jakiro and... I forget the last hero but they were up against a troll magnus lineup. Now to me surely this is a game you want to end around the 30-35minute mark. You are not winning in late game (they didn't, they lost as the game went on). If there was ever a game where necro lycan was the pick it was this game but the lycan went armlet, mom.. So tell me am I just hopelessly behind the times? Or are the pros missing out on a viable build in some games like the above? [link] [comments]
Posted: 27 Jun 2017 03:19 AM PDT Hi, i am analyzing my hero pool and got stuck with roamer position. The only roamer i can play in any match up is mirana, but it need maximum concentration (and some luck) to aim with arrows. I need an advice for second roamer to master. [link] [comments]
How do you counter Phantom Assassin in most situations? Posted: 27 Jun 2017 07:05 AM PDT By most situations, I mean when she's has max evasion, or when she already has bkb, or when she already has a rapier or something like that. [link] [comments]
| When is it beneficial to build poor man's shield vs. stout shield on non-agility heroes? Posted: 26 Jun 2017 06:15 PM PDT For reference: Stout Shield: 16/8 damage block 50% of the time Poor Man's Shield: 20/10 damage block 50% of the time +6 agility (almost 1 armor). Edited for additional relevant questions: How much of a difference is +1 armor early game? Which supports/carries when laned against would it be better to get other items (ex wand against skywrath?) | Posted: 27 Jun 2017 06:07 AM PDT I'm seeing more and more BS in the qualifiers, what could be the reason? Could it be something other than the buffs, since there wasn't any big buff, all being small incremental ones? Is it because BS fills a role other carries do not? Also a little off-topic but some advice for playing BS at a low skill level would be helpful, trying to learn him but haven't won a single game and failing spectacularly every time, even though he seems so easy in the hands of enemies/teammates. I tried playing him as a conventional right-clicking carry, but I always hear he's not the best in that aspect. Is there another way to play BS? [link] [comments] |
1v1 Mid dominator - Natures Prophet Posted: 27 Jun 2017 08:15 AM PDT So I've been entering some 1v1 Faceit tournaments, facing some fun mid match ups like viper, jakiro, brood etc, the kind of stuff you won't find (hopefully) in a pub match. All 3 in my opinion are beatable if played correctly but I've just played a game I don't think is possible of winning. I was viper against natures prophet, he didn't block his creep wave but instead straight away walked down mid with his trees and took 1/5 of my tower HP, is there any backdoor protection here? Laning stage went on and as you'd expect viper was crushing it. He spawns his treants in and walks them across the river and once they are near my T1 he ports to my tower and starts removing all the HP, again is there any backdoor kicking in here? I'm too far ahead with the wave because I'm pushing it under his tower because I was under the impression backdoor wouldn't allow him to do this? If I stayed under my tower I lose out on gold + xp as well as he'd push the creeps under and with his treants destroy my tower, If I push the wave to try and contest his tower he just goes behind me to take my tower and I have no effective wave clear. My question is what could I of done here? and why isn't backdoor protecting my tower from him doing this ? [link] [comments]

Can we theorycraft a tank clinkz? Posted: 26 Jun 2017 04:28 PM PDT Seriously, after some talk on this sub about HotD and clinkz, he can seriously gain some massive health and damage, and become what i think to be a great midgame tank, and a powerful pushing force. in a practice lobby, im testing this out. @ lvl 6, with HotD, power treads, and armlet, clinkz has a wopping 1670 hp, with 19.2 regen. With armlet on, 2170, with 20.7 regen, and 14 armour. Im betting solar crest, AC, and Skadi can be really powerful too. @lvl 25 with treads, armlet, HotD, solar crest, AC, and Skadi, you have 4715hp, 25.9 regen, 52 armour, and 20% evasion, and ~331 damage. This seems pretty staggering for a clinkz that can still punch damage with strafe and searing arrows. let me know what you guys think! just tried it out in a game: match id 3276282168 [link] [comments]
