| Dealing with troll+sven as PA/LC Posted: 17 Jun 2017 11:35 AM PDT If I'm playing LC, PA, or Life, against a Troll and Sven carry... what should I build to deal with them, or tips on dealing with that matchup in general? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 17 Jun 2017 07:47 PM PDT As someone who has hundreds of mid wr games I love the hero, but sadly she isn't meta. However I've been seeing her played support more and more, how do I effectively play her as a support? What skill build do I use, and what items to I build? [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 17 Jun 2017 04:31 AM PDT Suppose I have treads and ring of health, is it better for my support to stack the hard camp so I can kill the stack after bfury, or should I tell him not to stack so I can get a quicker bfury by farming it? [link] [comments] |

| Posted: 16 Jun 2017 09:22 PM PDT Morphling got a pretty nice buff for an agi hero (BAT from 1.6 to 1.55), but it seemingly did nothing to his low-end winrate. He seems to be a pretty strong hero. He can farm fast, and can be built in a ton of different ways to counter or exploit weaknesses. Eblade rush for a game with easy farm and squishy pickoffs, early BoTs for split push all night long, and lots of early items work on him to make hard lanes easier, like Aquila, Dlance, or Yasha. Morphling's terrible, terrible int gain is the hardest thing about his early game for me lately. Aquila and Raindrops together is far from enough regen to allow real waveform spamming, but void stone is far from enough regen with such a low int. Maybe the solution for this is to get mana boots early, then remaking it into Aether Lens after AdStrike is maxed? Or is there some other option I'm missing? He's way too freaking slow for bottle to be effective, and soul ring isn't remotely enough. Manta style seems like a far better item to rush than Eblade most of the time. Yasha gives more stats than a ghost scepter, and Manta breaks the really dangerous soft disables of Root and Silence. By itself, Ghost Scepter really only protects against a physical damage/right click nuker who has root or silence, so like, a really fed Clinkz, or OD/Enchantress with Atos. For early aggression, I'm really liking Diffusal blade. Buildup is easy, it accelerates farm nicely, and it makes his right clicks dangerous for a long time into a fight. Agh's seems great, but on a carry morph, it can really gimp his lategame strength. Pretty much the only times I can see it being effective is if A: you have an allied carry who is strong and doesn't rely on his ultimate, or his ult is a passive, or B: you see a strong ward or disable you can duplicate. Preferably more than one example of the above for maximum strength. Skill build in general seems to be practically set in stone, but it seems reasonably flexible. Maxing Q is the free farm option, but prioritizing Morph does make ganks harder, the faster and cheaper morphing makes it easier to Morph and Wave away. Similarly, his ultimate is an amazing escape, even if its uptime is really low, it's still some time with an instant escape, or simply a nice tank to safely farm the jungle if you lost the lane. Adstrike is still utter shit early on, unless you're doing a wierd support build. Morphling's talents are pretty strange. Most talents are a choice between an offensive choice and a defensive choice, or one of the above and a utility choice. All but one talent for Morphling is a clear offensive choice though. I'm tempted to go full right click aligned talents, Agi, attack speed, attack damage. The 200 mana really only helps in early fights, farming it's just one more wave before going dry. The cooldown reduction is tiny, barely a second on his offensive spells, and the movespeed is just as meh, I'd rather get a mobility item (Silver looks like a situationally powerful item on him, being like an offensive Linken's, as does a fast drums for a pushing build, maybe euls for an early dispel?) | Posted: 16 Jun 2017 10:44 PM PDT Quick tip, I just was reading about how to improve my team fight ability. I have been really bad at it but I just started doing something that helped me raise my mmr by 300 from 3.7 to 4k. I have been saying out loud to myself every ability that I see in a team fight. It helps me keep awareness of what has been used and I have been so much better since I've done that. Do it for a while, its hard but its great! [link] [comments] |

| Questions for Experienced Lina players Posted: 17 Jun 2017 01:16 PM PDT 4k Mid Player here, Never really got into Lina until lately ( mostly played TA, ember, SF, Qop etc ) I feel that I have her mid and late game down fairly well, in terms of positioning etc. However I usually don't dominate the laning phase even in match ups where I think I should. Any high level experienced lina players can shed some light on first 10 mins? 1- Item build up? starting items, into bottle? or double null, how many Clarties? 2- Rune control/ and or Dragon slave spam? 3- In what situations do you try to abuse her range over her Dragon slave, etc Just not really sure how to get the most of the hero in lane, usually am only coming out with 40 LH's at 10 mins which is terrible. | Posted: 17 Jun 2017 08:29 AM PDT Playing Dota 2 on the second lowest setting. I was getting about 120fps. But on the lowest I got like 50. Is this because there's "more stuff" to load and must process fast? I have slower internet so how will maximum setting really affect that? [link] [comments] |
| Could I have done anything more? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 11:34 AM PDT I'm pretty salty right now because we played against a split-push team and instead of trying to use my advantage to just push down a lane, the team consistently tried to TP back and protect turrets. It was then almost impossible for me to siege high ground without help. Then in late game, we just rolled over against a NP split. Could I have done anything more to help this team? | Bloodthorne or Daedalus on INT heroes? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 01:41 AM PDT The main hero I'm wondering about regarding this is Lina, though I suppose Windranger is also relevant to the discussion. OD is an INT right-clicker, but he does stupid amounts of pure damage anyway, the larger his mana pool is, so I don't think he needs the crit. I can't demo it right now but I feel that Daedalus offers a higher DPS, with its greater crit chance, and higher crit, but Bloodthorne's silence and removal of evasion looks really appealing. It also offers attack speed and a nice INT boost, which is good for any INT hero. It surprised me to see on Lina's dotabuff page that Daedalus has a higher WR though. Should I go for Bloodthorne only if there's someone particularly slippery that I want to silence, and in any other case, go for Daedalus? What should I be considering when deciding between the two? | Is it worth to practice heroes against bots? Posted: 16 Jun 2017 08:27 PM PDT There are several heroes I really enjoy playing, but they are difficult to play, and obviously I don't want to risk picking them in ranked anymore, because I lose most of the time since I don't know their strategy/playstyle well enough. I also don't play unranked because I can't stand playing with 4-man stacks. I wish someone would coach me, but I can't afford it. The only option I've got is to practice with bots, but aren't default Valve bots retarded (they were last time I checked)? Their gameplay is unrealistic, predictable and abusable. Are there any alternatives? What's the best way to master a hero without ruining your winrate and games for other players? [link] [comments] |
| Do Techies' mines upgrade after they are placed? Posted: 16 Jun 2017 11:23 PM PDT So I've put about 50 games of techies so far. I love that hero. But, whenever I play him I can never tell if my mines upgrade when I level up after thy have been placed, causing to place more and wasting my time and mana. Can someone clear this up? | Posted: 17 Jun 2017 04:59 AM PDT I'm starting to get back into the swing of this game after taking months off from my first 70 hours or so playing this but I still have no real idea who to choose that can help me learn the game while being useful for the team, I've had more success playing melee heroes than ranged and I really like not dying. I used to play a lot of Treant Protector and Tidehunter but I feel useless in lane playing them and the recent Treant nerfs put me off from playing it. Are there any good melee heroes that are durable but also really useful for the team and 1v1's? Preferably ones that don't require too much mechanical skill to learn the game with? I'm starting to re-learn that with Dota I need to get used to losing again, I'm very comfortable with League of Legends so it's jarring to play a game where I'm losing and not learning too much for why I'm losing.
