Posted: 21 Dec 2017 07:39 AM PST Winter Sale is here and Ubisoft is offering massive discounts on many games. However, if you are thinking of getting the Rainbow 6 Siege: Starter Edition, just don't. Unlocking operators takes dozens of gameplay hours and without a good variety of them, you can't properly enjoy the game. Even for 7,49€ it's not worth it. Just get the Standard Edition for 20€. EDIT: To clarify why I think Starter Edition is a bad deal. It takes a week or two of moderate game play to earn a single operator (not including DLC ops). Same operator is unlocked in about 2 hours with the Standard Edition. Siege focuses heavily on different ops and their abilities. Having a decent amount to choose from allows you to adapt to any map/location/enemy team. Spending 2 weeks on an operator that might not suit your play style or map can be quite frustrating. Coupled with very steep learning curve, it might turn a lot of new players away. If you aren't sure about the game and/or can't spend more than 7,5€, just don't get the game. You will be turned away and effectively wasting your money. If you are interested in the game, get the Standard Edition.
