Hearthstone - Streamer Sundays Weekly Discussion

Streamer Sundays Weekly Discussion

Posted: 17 Jun 2017 05:11 PM PDT

Do you enjoy watching streamers? Do you wish there was an easier way to find new up-and-coming streamers beyond the well-known, established Twitch goliaths?

Do you have a stream yourself? Are you looking to get exposure but not sure how given how Twitch displays streams and how one-shot stream promotion posts on Reddit tend to get ignored? Is anyone still reading these questions?

This thread is for you!

If you are a streamer or know of a cool, lesser-known (read: doesn't regularly pull in 1K+ viewers) streamer feel free to post the URL and a short, informative pitch about why you feel others would be interested to watch it. Why should someone watch your suggested stream rather than one of the hundreds of other streams out there?

The next great streamer might be just one comment away.

Enjoy!

Why was Old-Murkey removed as a collection reward?

Posted: 18 Jun 2017 06:15 AM PDT

For those of you who don't remember, after collecting at least one of each murloc you would be awarded with Old-Murk-Eye (also with captain's parrot if you had one of each pirate, if I am not mistaken).

I remember that he was rotated to wild because there was fear that Anyfin Paladin would be significantly overpowered in standard if he was around.

But even though that was the reasoning for rotating him, what was the reasoning behind removing him as a collection reward and forcing people to craft the card instead of crafting their missing murlocs and as a bonus getting a nice little legendary?

All opinions are welcome, but I would like to hear from a dev assuming they are allowed to disclose this information!

EDIT: Wow guys, first page already and TOP 3. Wonderful, thanks guys! Hopefully, we might get an answer soon! :) EDIT: Jesus TOP 2 already. Thanks guys, let's keep the word out and see what the response is! ^ EDIT: TOP 1 on Hearthstone Reddit. You guys are the best and obviously would like an answer! ^

Possible bug with Bolf Ramshield

Posted: 18 Jun 2017 02:20 AM PDT

I'm not really sure how this card works, but I got him from Malchezaar in a goofy game against Inkeeper and noticed that he did not receive any fatigue damage.
First screenshot.
Second.
I used 2 Shield Blocks to draw into more fatigue damage, but nothing happened, just +10 armor and no damage at all. I don't know, maybe it's one of those weird interactions, but I tried to look for it on Hearthstone Wiki - nothing (or I'm just blind). Can you explain this please?
Edit: Screen from wiki article.

Card back poll results

Posted: 18 Jun 2017 08:09 AM PDT

As promised (and reminded to do dozens of times) here are the results from the card rating poll from 3 days ago in a more digestible form:

Part I

Part II

Overview and raw numbers (Google Sheet)

Top 10:

  1. Legacy of the Void
  2. The Blue Portal
  3. Hearthstone Championship Tour
  4. Golden Celebration
  5. Secret Level
  6. Sunwell
  7. Power Core
  8. Legend
  9. Jade Lotus
  10. Molten Core

Card backs are a area where Blizzard seems to be consistently doing a great job with even the least liked card being rated well above a 2 out of 5. Too bad we don't see much of them during actual gameplay...

Thank you all for voting!

So, I was in a pretty awful spot when my opponent dropped a doomsayer. I thought it'd be funny to evolve and see what I get.....

The Legendary cap is removed and you can now play all of them at 2. Which deck dominates the meta?

Just your normal turn 2 warrior arena...

We both played Explore Un'Goro on turn 2, needless to say, it was the best arena game I've ever played.

It would be awesome to freeze hero powers too!

Posted: 18 Jun 2017 06:09 AM PDT

Youre dying? Freeze that hunter hero power!

Dont want your opponent to play an aditional 1/1? Freeze it?

Do you think it would make the game better?

EDIT: just to clarify - freeze it for one turn obviously

Best epics to craft?

What are the best epics to craft, as I have 2400 dust? I'm quite new to the game, so I'm open to most ideas.

Expectations/Hopes for a Lich King Card

Posted: 18 Jun 2017 09:09 AM PDT

With the upcoming hearthstone expansion being rumored to be centered around the lich King, I wanted to know what kind of card do you think Arthas/The lich King will get? And what kind of card would you want him to get? Because Blizzard doesn't always represent major characters well in hearthstone...

Prediction: Next expansion will have focus on board positions

Posted: 18 Jun 2017 09:06 AM PDT

Patch 8.2.2 reintroduced the minion swapping board positions bug.

This means the devs have been changing/working on the code responsible for minion positions.

I believe this is in preparation for the next expansion where this will be a theme.

Thoughts?

We should have wild & standard arena just like wild & standard ranked.

Posted: 17 Jun 2017 07:03 PM PDT

I'm sure everyone's got an opinion on which type of arena they prefer. Personally I'm getting bored of playing the same cards over and over in standard, but I can see why some people like it.

Doesn't make sense to me that there is standard & wild constructed but no choice for arena.

TIL Some card dialogue in "Chinese" are different from those in "Taiwanese"

Posted: 18 Jun 2017 04:28 AM PDT

As Mandarin-speaking person having been to both China and Taiwan but live in neither, I find it interesting that there is quite a large difference between the card dialogue of the two languages, even though the only major difference in the two "languages" is the writing. Personally, I find the Chinese voice lines more poetic.

Examples: (sorry if I used the wrong characters)

Lyra the Sunshard

(when played)

Chinese - 沐浴新日的光辉

Taiwanese - 见证新太阳的荣光

(on attack)

Chinese - 光耀万物

Taiwanese - 照亮一切

C'thun

(when played)

Chinese - 我苏醒之日,便是你命丧之时

Taiwanese - 我的睡梦结束,你的噩梦开始

However, there is also much dialogue in which both "languages" have the same lines. Can anyone explain this?
