Diablo - Noob Diablo Questions

Noob Diablo Questions

Posted: 17 Jun 2017 06:58 PM PDT

The Heroes of the Storm Diablo event got me interested in this game. I have a few questions before I buy the full game, though. I want to know more about the characters I played in HotS. Can I expect to come across them in the game? If I buy the full game do I pick up right where I left off in the trial? Is there a story campaign to go through and finish and what other game modes are there?

Casual Party Composition Questions

Posted: 17 Jun 2017 11:21 AM PDT

My friend and I are gonna start a new game in Diablo 3, and since he's never played it extensively, I'm not gonna put it on anything higher than Expert, since he should be able to get the hang of it relatively quickly even on that difficulty. And his brother may be joining us every now and then, so I had a couple questions regarding class suggestions or party composition.

  1. Should we worry too much about composition, or would be fine just playing through with whatever class we wanted? (Also would we still have the in-game followers available to us, or would we not be able to hire them?)

  2. If composition would be important at all, do you have any class recommendations for a 2-person party? And do you have any suggestions for a 3-person party?

Side note, we'll be playing locally on my PS4, so communication isn't an issue if that's important at all for party compositions.

QoL Improvements please

Posted: 17 Jun 2017 09:56 AM PDT

I love the cabinet.. please let us know when a piece of gear is in a set, so we don't accidentally break one down. Just a lil icon, or a name in the details or something.

Another thing.. can we PLEASE make it so that on a seasonal char, a legendary power you have 'off-season' is.. filled with blue or something? Trying to figure out which powers you haven't collected is a pain in the ascii.

kthanx!

Diablo 3 is one of my most "I should have researched before buying" game

Posted: 17 Jun 2017 09:05 PM PDT

I just bought the game, mainly because I'm looking for couch co-op games. Now I've heard of Diablo before and I know it's a popular game, and it's also made by Blizzard so I know the quality would be up to par.

My biggest surprise was the gameplay. I was really expecting a hard, rougelike, dungeon crawler where positioning, skill usage, kiting would be essential components. My first few minutes involved all of those, but as I keep playing I could not help but notice how easy the game was. The biggest takeaway was me just not moving my character and holding X to attack, and even then I can't get killed!

A bit disappointed with the game, but it's still worth it IMO as the ones I play with seem to enjoy it.

I don't know I just needed to share this experience I guess. BTW, I understand the appeal, it's just not for me IMHO. Does it get better if I increase the difficulty or something? I feel like increasing the difficulty will just increase grinding-ness.

Diablo 1 on Windows 10

Posted: 17 Jun 2017 09:23 AM PDT

So for few weeks I have been trying to get Diablo 1 to work on my Win 10 PC. I have looked trough every guide and thread related to it and it just does not work. I even got to the point where I could play the game with few graphics glitches but when I cleared one floor and tried to enter another it crashed. So I am looking for another way to play it.

I was hoping with StarCraft 1 remastered we would also see Diablo 1 but I guess that is not going to happen.

I tried the Beelzebub HD mod and it works but I don't like the custom content.

So it looks like the only option would be VirtualBox with Win95.

So how do you guys who still like to play Diablo 1 play it?

Secondary PC Build for Diablo 3?

Posted: 17 Jun 2017 04:44 AM PDT

Hi, I'll skip straight to the point. I've been playing Diablo 3 since the start, it's the one game I always come back to and as of lately my partner has shown an interest in some of the lore and mechanics of the game. She'd like to get into it but as she's never really played games before she doesn't own a PC/Console.

I have a small Office PC laying around (Fujitsu Esprimo E3520) that has the following currently:

  • 2GB DDR3 RAM
  • nVidia GeForce GTX 710 2GB
  • Intel® Core™2 Duo processor E7500 (2.93GHz)

I bought another account to use on this Machine and the game runs, on lowest at 1280x1024 (I only have a 4:3 Monitor spare) it gets around 25FPS though it takes a while to load up. Though I know that the above isn't gaming worthy I was wondering if upgrading the CPU to a Intel® Core™2 Quad processor Q9550 and 4GB RAM would get it to be at least stable on lowest/1280x1024? Or should I scrap the entire machine and custom build something?

Are new items Necro only?

Posted: 17 Jun 2017 05:07 AM PDT

Basically, if I don't want to play Necro nor challenge rifts, is there any reason to play again?
