| I think I figured out how Civ 6 Religious Pressure works. Posted: 17 Jun 2017 04:58 AM PDT So I was working on adding a religious pressure tooltip for my Simple UI Adjustments mod, and I may have figured out (to some extent) how Religious Pressure works. So the way pressure works is ALL the religious pressure a city has ever been subjected to is added to a pool. Citizens are then divvied up according to the share of religious pressure a religion has in the pool. Since religions can't have half a citizen, the amount of citizens is always rounded up or down to the nearest whole number. I.E
To illustrate, the tooltip from my mod: http://i.imgur.com/Ep5ZlbF.png (note this is DIFFERENT from the data on the Religion Lens) Pantheon has 2 Followers:
Orthodoxy has 1 Follower:
Catholicism has 0 Followers:
So those numbers that appear when you spread religion or kill an enemy in theological combat are the exact change in pressure that occurs in cities. Like Civ 5, cities with a dominant religion will also spread their religion passively, though I'm unsure of how exactly the amount of pressure it exerts is calculated. That said, the numbers are pitiful, especially if you're dealing with a city with an entrenched religion. I suspect Holy Cities push +4, Cities with a Holy Site push +2 and all other cities push +1, but I'm not certain. [link] [comments] | ||

| Civs you irrationally(rationally?) hate Posted: 17 Jun 2017 08:20 AM PDT You know the feeling when you see a Civ and you think, "I don't care what I have to do, I'm going to wipe them off of the Earth"? That's me and Medici/Frace. She doesn't like the look of what I've been up to you say? Well I'll like the look of me wiping her off the map. It's an irrational hatred even if she hasn't done anything to me. Bonus points for Alexander but I'm pretty sure that hatred is rational. [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 17 Jun 2017 04:40 PM PDT My dad was a really big fan of age of empires and I was considering getting him Civ 6. I was wondering if anyone that has played both could give me a run down of similarities, differences and thoughts as to whether or not he would like it. Thank you! [link] [comments] | ||

| Civ V Massive Lag in Late Game Posted: 17 Jun 2017 06:18 PM PDT This never happened before. Each turn takes like a minute to process and the camera takes ten seconds to swing across the map. I've turned graphics to low, turned on quick combat and movement, and turned on stratrgic view. Does anyone else have this problem? i5-4460 3.2GHz, GTX660, 8GB RAM, Windows 10 [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 17 Jun 2017 08:30 AM PDT If Civ VI goes on sale during the Steam Summer Sale, is it worth a pick up? I already own Civ 5 + full dlc and its a blast (play it every night with friends), but I haven't really paid attention to civ 6 since launch. What would be the expected lowest price? | Posted: 17 Jun 2017 02:15 PM PDT I've never gotten much into estrategy games in my life, since they feel so complex and difficult to comprehend, but at the same time I like trying out new games and I'd like to have a game to just relax (?) with that doesnt have me shooting or doing frenetic stuff. I tried Civilization VI some time ago and I liked the concept of expanding an empire and such, the soundtrack is fantastic, but I ended up leaving it a few hours after trying because there was so much stuff to learn it felt incredibly anxious and overwhelming. Do you have any tips for a newcomer on the genre to get the hang of the game? [link] [comments] | ||
| Noob modder new to lua; help please? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 07:48 PM PDT Sorry, I'm really new when it comes to modding and I'm working on a Civilization that has a unique unit that I want to grant production equivalent to a percentage of the combat strength of a unit in each city for each unit it kills. I figured out you had to do something with the GameEvents.UnitPreKill lua code (correct me if I'm wrong) or something like that, but I have no idea how to go about editing it, and actually implementing it in the game. How do I do something like that? Any help would be greatly appreciated. [link] [comments] | ||
| Odd question: Civ VI Ryzen 7 performance? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 02:51 PM PDT Hey all, not sure if this type of post is acceptable here but I don't know where else to post. I am currently building a PC and am now buying a CPU. I know that Civ VI is very CPU intensive, so this choice is one of the most important I'll make (I have over 500 hours on Civ V and haven't played VI since my laptop died at release). Do any of you have experience with Civ VI on AMD Ryzen CPUs? I've been fairly set on Ryzen as I have other expected uses, but my main game that I play is Civilization. If Civ is going to suffer on it, then I rather just go intel... [link] [comments] | ||
| More options under the "discuss" tab? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 02:34 PM PDT Right now the only thing you can ask of the AI is for them to not do something. It feels really lonely when the only thing the other players have to say is "stop having more great people" or "don't touch my city states" So how about some other options: -"shall we declare war against x?" This could replace the joint war options in the deals menu. We could also bring back the ability to bribe a civ to go to war or make peace with another power from Civ 5. -"Will you help me take back the city of x?" You can bring this up if you have lost a city in battle or had to give it up in a peace deal. The AI may ask this of you as well, and if you agree it will declare a joint war on the player who took the city. As long as you only take back the city and liberate it, there will be no warmonger penalties against you and you will get a diplomatic bonus for liberating a city, and a even larger diplo bonus to the AI you returned the city to. -"Shall we agree not to spy on eachother?" This is similar to the existing option but both players must make a promise. -"Can you spread your religion to my people? This will be useful for civs like Kongo and India, and can be used to help satisfy the agendas of Spain and Arabia. -"Shall we publicly denounce x?" Etc. [link] [comments] | ||
| Never played a Civ game ; which one to pick up? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 02:34 PM PDT Hey! I've never played a Civ game, but recently reading the Prince by Machiavelli made me think of this game for some reason. I dont' really care about graphics, have no money for DLC, and I want to play this game to be a jerk to my population and my neighbours, classic Machiavelli style. So, which one to pick up? Thank you :) [link] [comments] | ||
| Posted: 17 Jun 2017 06:13 PM PDT So I stumbled across this earlier today when trying to start a new game and was hoping /CIV could see if this is a bug or just my version. No mods installed, up to date game. Set up and start a game using the following settings: -Huge map -Island Plates -Balanced start positions I have tested with random civs and a couple of other settings. Once you start the game you are presented with a blank map and turns ticking over but no ability to control anything. Does it happen to you too? [link] [comments] | ||
| Is there a mod to do something about the swarms of missionaries? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 09:54 AM PDT I picked up Civ VI again after not playing for a while hoping that some of the quirks would've been polished out in patches. It's coming along, but missionary swarms are still a huge problem. Is there a mod or some way to deal with them? They should behave like traders and exist in the background. Even disabling religious victory does not seem to affect their numbers. [link] [comments] | ||

| Graphical problem in Civ VI only after the patch? Posted: 17 Jun 2017 01:12 PM PDT I play Civ VI on mac (not a very good one). The game always looked fine before but I stopped playing for a while. Today I launch it for the first time since the spring patch, and there is an issue with the graphics (on the title screen and in-game). Everything looks weird and blue. Is it actually related to the patch or is it something else? Did the requirements to play the game change? [link] [comments] | ||

| [Civ VI] There needs to be a confirmation when you click on denounce leader Posted: 16 Jun 2017 10:43 PM PDT Twice now I've denounced a leader when I meant to click declare friendship and I usually don't like to reload autosaves due to spite. In my head I try to make a real world example of that mistake I made; I just see it a a leader politically got caught saying something that pissed off the other leader ("Wow do you see what Hojo Tokimune was wearing the other day?") But alas its a moot point. TL;DR Denounced a leader as I was trying to make a friend [link] [comments] | ||
| Civ VI mac and windows multiplayer Posted: 17 Jun 2017 01:32 PM PDT Hello, I am wondering whether or not to get civ 6 for my MacBook Air, but I do not know if I can play multiplayer with my friend, who uses a windows computer. Does anyone know if the mac and windows versions of civ are compatible in multiplayer? [link] [comments] |
