| Medusa, Damage, Late Game, and Suffering Posted: 02 May 2017 11:44 AM PDT Climbing 1.5k player here, dotabuff. I've been playing Medusa a fair amount lately, and I've noticed a few trends.
I'd like the discussion to focus especially on points 4 and 6, but would also like input on the others. As you can see in my recent matches, my core and extension items are usually: Skadi, Linken's, Butterfly, Mjollnir, MKB, and BoTs. As you can't see in my recent matches, I usually start with: set of tangoes, two iron branches, circlet, clarity, and optional slave; my laning items are: Aquila, Phase, and Dragon Lance. On nearly every other agi hero I play, these items would allow me to do exceptional damage, be difficult to kill, and survive well in lane, but on Medusa I feel underwhelming on the damage side. I seldom find myself earning kills early, though I've found calculated aggression with Mystic Snake can lead to surprising kills. I especially feel that my lane dominance through Mystic Snake (I usually go mid) does not translate well into effectiveness in early/midgame pushes and teamfights. So, how does the hero do damage in the lategame, and what are some good ways to contribute more, in general, throughout the game? Also, is there anything significant I'm missing about the hero, and how can I improve my builds and contribution? What are some timings I should be aiming for on my core items (be gentle, I'm 1k for a reason)? Edit: Formatting and rewording [link] [comments] |
| DP lvl 20 +50 ms vs -15% CD talent Posted: 02 May 2017 12:49 PM PDT +50 ms or -15% cooldown? I saw one person in Kiev major go +50 ms, but it didn't seem to be that great, and I'm wondering if -15% CD is slightly better? (DISCLAIMER: this is from memory and I didn't check the -% CD) [link] [comments] |
| Posted: 02 May 2017 12:42 PM PDT Title, i play him mid but more often than not I just fail at the mid game. It always feels like im wasting a good core whenever I go mid with Puck. I have trouble beating certain matchups, I rarely ever seize an oppurtunity for a kill (i dont know when is a good one with puck) and in the mid game I feel as if the enemy mid just gets too much of a lead on me. | How good/bad is it if a player picks Pudge and goes mid solely to get kills? Posted: 02 May 2017 12:36 AM PDT I'm talking about mid Pudge players. Is it still feasible given so many better options? Also imo Pudge works better as an offlaner. Anyway, if somebody does that and CAN get many kills thanks to the early game farm, is it good for the team or bad? Because in the end, we still might lose given how greedily such players approach the idea of engaging with enemies. [link] [comments] |
| Questions about hard ember loss and playing from behind Posted: 01 May 2017 11:50 PM PDT Basically I lost midlane to a silencer and my safelane (spectre, cm, and lion) lost to axe (creepskipping), wisp, and omni. Axe and DK soon got to the point where they could basically solo anyone on my team on sight.
~3k btw. And I am not blaming my teammates, them losing top hard is just the reality of spectre vs axe/omni. [link] [comments] |
| What are some good ganking support or core/support duos? Posted: 01 May 2017 05:41 PM PDT Playing with a friend in pubs, what are some good high-action, ganking hero combinations? Could be support x2 or core/support duos. Bonus points if they're also a good combination in lane (doesn't have to be; I've searched for good laning combos and have found lots of good threads on the topic.) Also, we're both beginners, so ideally no super high skill cap heroes like Io and Earth Spirit. [link] [comments] |
