Only 4 Days Left to Get These OSfrogs to Greninja Saga! Posted: 07 May 2017 04:01 PM PDT Donations are closing for these last few frogs in 4 days so I figured I'd try to raise a little awareness of the deserving contenders left. Lea Approximate Amount Left: $665 Lea is Japan's third best Greninja and one of the best Greninja players in the world. He's currently ranked [#69] in Japan, and some of his best wins include Kameme (#4 in Japan and #11 on the PGR), Choco (#12 in Japan), Tsu (#13 in Japan), Fuwa (#24 in Japan), Hayato. (#29 in Japan), Kuro (#30 in Japan), Yuzu (#43 in Japan), Some (#57 in Japan), Jill (#70 in Japan), Takera (#108 in Japan), and bt.yamato (#170 in Japan). Some of his best placements include 7th at [Umebura BenQ ZOWIE Cup], 13th at [Umebura 25], 13th at [SGC 2017], 17th at [Umebura 23], and 25th at [Umebura Japan Major], though unfortunately despite this he's failed to get much time on streams. He's also come close to beating Nairo (#3 on the PGR) and [KEN] (#1 in Japan and #19 on the PGR) before, among other things. Lea is definitely one of the Greninja players with the best chance to put on a good performance, and this tournament gives him an opportunity to get the exposure he deserves. Shiki Approximate Amount Left: $690 Shiki is Japan's fourth-best Greninja, ranked [#132] in Japan. Some of his best wins include Fuwa (#24 in Japan), Songn (#68 in Japan), and bAhuto (#76 in Japan), and some of his best placements include 3rd at [TSC 5], 17th at [SGC 2017], 25th at [Umebura 23], and 65th at [Umebura Japan Major]. This would be a great chance for Shiki to show off his skills and put on a show with some Japanese Gekkouga action. Shinjoebi Approximate Amount Left: $117 Shinjoebi is the best Greninja in the Midwest, currently ranked #2 in Minnesota and 22nd in the Midwest. He is also formerly the best player in his state. Some of his best wins at regionals include Day (#38 on the PGR) NiTe (#9 in the Midwest), PowPow (#2 in Wisconsin), Mystearica (#2 in Indiana), xane (#3 in Ohio), Shel (#5 in Chicago), and lapis lazuli (#11 in Chicago), as well as bringing Ned (PGR #50) game 5 multiple times. He hasn't gotten the opportunity to travel much to large tournaments, but has put out very solid results like 2nd at [Push More Buttons], 7th at [Kings of the North V], 9th at [Combo Breaker 2016], 17th at [Endgame], and 25th at [Midwest Mayhem 6]. Also, a player from his state Skorpio (#5 in Minnesota) recently went on to get 3rd at [Midwest Mayhem 7] and 65th at [Civil War] beating players like Tyrant (#22 on the PGR and #5 in SoCal), Javi (#1 in Mexico City), JJROCKETS (#5 in the Midwest and #3 in Chicago), and Tyroy (#4 in the Midwest and #2 in Chicago), as well as taking Zinoto (#16 on the PGR and #2 in the Midwest) and Dath (#32 on the PGR and #7 in South Florida) to game 5, showing the strength and potential players from this state have. This would be an amazing opportunity for Shinjoebi to show off his skills against some of the best and get some exposure on a bigger scale. PHaZeX3R0 Approximate Amount Left: $406 Unlike the other Greninjas listed here, Phaze doesn't have much in the way of tournament results, being fairly isolated from tournaments in location. However, what he lacks in results he makes up for in tech skill, being one of the most proficient Greninja players at footstool combos. As you can see from [his twitter], this man has some crazy combos. Not only would he greatly improve the Greninja Combo Contest side event at Greninja Saga, this would give him a rare chance to go to a big tournament and utilize his skills in bracket against skilled opponents. So, there you have it. These are some of the Smash community's best and brightest Greninja players, and you guys can help give them all a spot at Greninja Saga to unload the toad for us all. I can't urge you all enough to try and help out if you can, as all of these players deserve this so much and would all benefit greatly from the experience, especially since both of the Japanese Greninjas have never even been to the US for a tournament yet and the American ones have attended very few notable tournaments. submitted by /u/Blaziken1337 [link] [comments] |

FAQs: CRAZY HAND takes place in West Japan (Osaka). It is a tournament that takes place twice a year and is one of Japan's majors. They normally host a monthly tournament called MASTER HAND. Players like Rudolph, Kounotori, K.F, and Zoma live in West Japan (Osaka, Hiroshima, etc), while players like aMSa, Gucci, Shippu, Yu, and Sanne live in East Japan (Tokyo, etc). The distance between Tokyo and Osaka is approximately 3 to 5 hours depending on method of travel and can cost anywhere from approximately $80 - $150. Notable entrants missing were Shippu (East), Sheik (East), So-ten (West), and Sobameshi (West). Tapioka (West), Zoma (West), and aMSa (East) were all present at the tourney and entered various events but were unable to participate fully in singles for various reasons. The winner of this tournament has a trip to EVO! Congratulations to Rudolph. Nanashi (I believe) has moved to West Japan and now represents the West. This was actually a nutty tournament. Here are some sets I recommend you watch (disclaimer: the following sets are Twitch VODs): Yu vs Sanne, Gucci vs Rudolph (WS), Yu vs Rudolph, Gucci vs Kounotori, Gucci vs Yu, and Gucci vs Rudolph (GF) Don't know who some players are? Check out Japan's most recent Power Rankings. Some placings may be slightly inaccurate: for example, the PR does not have Gucci, it is incredibly ambiguous who exactly is top 4 in Japan, and players like Yu should be higher whereas players like Nanashi and s-royal should be lower. East Japan wins the crew battle! This is revenge for the last Crazy Hand, where West Japan obliterated them. This time they came back with aMSa and Gucci, who both took 9 stocks each. Some notable pools results: An unknown player named Yo took a set off Nanashi. Plata, Japan's second best Yoshi, beat Kounotori, netting his best win ever. Zoma also defeated Gucci, but it is unknown if he did this with Fox or Mewtwo. Rudolph re-establishes his dominance in Japan by double eliminating Gucci and defeating one of his rivals, Yu. However, aMSa did not attend this tournament: Rudolph is currently down in sets against him and still needs his revenge to reclaim his throne as best in Japan. Gucci has suffered lower-than-expected losses since he re-emerged from his hiatus. However, CRAZY HAND marks his redemption bracket. He defeated Kounotori 3-2, getting his revenge from KSB 2017 after getting 2-0'd. He also defeated Yu 3-2, who absolutely obliterated Gucci in their last encounter. The long anticipated Gucci vs Rudolph set happened (twice!), but Gucci was unable to take a win. However, both matches were relatively close, and if this tournament is any indication, Rudolph may have to watch out. It should be noted that Gucci also dropped a set to Zoma in pools, which is Gucci's worst loss this season. Yu failed to follow up from his victory this week from KSB 2017, which would've otherwise significantly helped his argument for best in Japan. However, neither of his losses were bad, and he only narrowly lost both sets in Game 5 matches. There is an easy argument that he is 3rd in Japan at this moment, right behind Rudolph and aMSa. Shippu and Gucci however might have something to say about that. Kounotori double-eliminated Nanashi this tournament. With Nanashi's losses against Da-yoshi and Yo alongside Kounotori's string of impressive victories, including a win over Gucci, Kounotori has emphatically passed Nanashi as top 5/6 in Japan. Nanashi, on the other hand, formerly the unquestionable top 5 player of Japan, has dropped significantly to possibly the 7-10 range. Sanne, who double-eliminated aMSa at KSB 2017, failed to make top 8, losing to Yu and K.F. Neither of these are necessarily bad losses, but it does show a glimpse of Sanne's inconsistency. Da-yoshi failed to follow up his excellent performance at KSB after losing to Sanne and Japan's resident Doc main, Zer0. Plata, who, in 2016, struggled to make a name for himself, is now gaining wins against Kounotori and s-royal. He even took Nanashi to Game 5: the Yoshi who lived in aMSa's shadow may break into Japan's upper tier. Who exactly is first in Japan? No one is quite sure: before KSB, it was aMSa, who was up in sets or tied with nearly everyone in Japan in the 2017 period. However, Sanne appeared and emphatically took two sets off of him: but even Sanne himself failed to make top 8 at this tournament. Rudolph can't claim to be first while down in sets against aMSa, and Yu is right at his heels. Gucci is slowly making a comeback into the scene with his second place finish with a tied record against Yu, Kounotori, and aMSa, and sleeping giant Shippu has yet to make an appearance this weekend. The next few tournaments will change the narrative for the top players in Japan. MASTER HAND/CRAZY HAND takes place in Osaka. If you are visiting or are looking for more information on the M. Hand/C.
