Stop letting Hunters ruin items for other classes. Posted: 07 May 2017 06:36 PM PDT Title. Golden Bow and pretty soon Hastened Fatalis. In the near future, I suspect Hastened to be removed from the game. What sucks is that the devs are ALLOWING the most powerful class in the game to abuse core items necessary to other classes. Nobody complained about Hastened's effect until Jing Wei got it for free. Chronos had it for years and was balanced for awhile. Sol had a niche form of it with Disapparate and Jing Wei single handedly caused them to lose it as well. Yes, they were heavy hitters in the SWC as well, but they're Mages. It made them interesting to have these as features in their kits since as ADC's their itemization is a little weaker, more expensive and they don't scale as well naturally. It made them unique. I could go on about how and why this item will get removed or become irrelevant once again, but it's really just a matter of time. There is no in between. Fatalis is a must buy if the enemy hunter has it, you can't efficiently box if they have it. If an item's only counter to class specific Gods is itself, then it's obviously OP. The question becomes once this items removed, what happens to Chronos, Sol, Freya, Bakasura and Kali once this items gone? Will Hastened be returned to their kits or will Fatalis be locked for Hunter? I hope it's the latter because Fatalis removes a lot of skill and fundamentals for a role that demands you have good positioning and aim and breaks a core rule in the game. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 07 May 2017 05:02 PM PDT Today my friends and I were playing on casual joust PS4 and we went to buy items, and instead of opening the menu it made the hud disappear, and we couldn't move so every person in the game had to disconnect. #quality #FeelsBadMan [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 May 2017 04:12 AM PDT Basically, title says it all. SMITE looks terrible from top down view, it looks like a really crappy dota2 or LoL and I think it would be a good thing to switch to third person view whenever possible. For example whenever you are already spectating duo or solo and they start boxing each other you should switch to third person. I mean.. that is how the game is played, that is how you can best observe a players skill. And you should do many more replays with 3rd person view. Just look at how CS:GO is streamed... they nearly use first person view exclusively because watching it from third person or top down would take away most of the fun when watching it. What do you think? Edit: Whole post and title is worded very poorly, I just woke up before writing this. I wish I would have given it a more positive title (99% is a terrible exaggeration) and I want to make clear that I don't advocate for the game to be shown in 3rd person exclusively, but for example switch to third person if solo lane is boxing 1on1 or after a teamfight and the ADC got a quadra, give us a third person replay of it. I made this post because I regularly see things like this when watching smite streams: "WTF is this? Lol with shitty graphics?" "ROFL look at these animations. Why play this instead of LoL/Dota" And often when you reply to these people you find out that they think smite is point&click like LoL [link] [comments] |

Are Smite's servers turning away newer players? Posted: 07 May 2017 10:03 AM PDT First off, I want to say that I'm a console player, and I've been playing Smite since late Season 2 on Xbox One pretty consistently, and I fell in love with the game because it's an interesting take on the moba genre and I'm really into mythology. My friend saw me play it a few times, and I managed to convince him to download the game on his PC so he could try it out... ...and it was awful. Seriously. My friend was in the first tutorial level, and backed to get his first relic as instructed. He was immediately kicked out to the menu due to a disconnection from the server. This pretty much turned him off the game, but he did attempt to give it another go before it kicked him out of one of his first Arena games, and he's stopped playing at all. I can't imagine he's the first nor the last person to have experienced this, especially not recently. As I'm not a PC player, I wasn't sure just how bad it was, but after seeing that, I can't possibly understand how the game is supposed to grow if newer players can't even complete the tutorial. So, Reddit, are the state of Smite's servers really turning away new players? Anyone else have similar experiences or heard of them? [link] [comments] |
Thank you guys so much for your support of my charity stream yesterday <3 Posted: 07 May 2017 04:18 PM PDT Hey guys! I wanted to thank you guys for being so supportive of my stream yesterday in support of the National Alliance on Mental Illness. Due to it being a 24 Hour stream, I was exhausted and felt like I didn't express my full gratitude because all I wanted to do was sleep. The cause is super important to me and you guys knocked it out of the park and that means a lot to me :) [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 May 2017 10:26 AM PDT They both have very, very similar kits. Allow me to explain, if you don't already see the similarities. Izanami's Death Draws Nigh compared to Cern's Shifter of Seasons - Autumn and Cern's Heavy Glaive.Death Draw's Nigh is a high-risk, moderate-reward passive that gives Izanami penetration based on her amount of health. This maxes out at 20%, but usually you'll be sitting pretty between 4 and 12%. It also modifies her basic attacks to deal 75% of what would be considered normal damage, but also dealing 25% on the return trip. Heavy Glaive on the other hand, offers a short-ranged cleave, at no cost to his basic attack power. He effectively does 125% basic attack damage at close range, and that extra 25% will hit regardless of whether his basic attack hits or not. Shifter of Seasons - Autumn applies a 5 second debuff to the enemy's protections, ranging from 5 to 25. Compared to Izanami, the enemy would need to have physical protections approaching 300 for her to have the advantage over Cern. The cherry on top is that Cern's debuff also allows allies to benefit, regardless of his own health amounts, while Izanami has to play extremely riskily to capitalize on her own penetration. Izanami's Sickle Storm compared to Cern's Shifter of Seasons - Summer.Izanami, granted, has a huge attack speed buff! Up to 75% when fully leveled. However, the bonus is temporary, with a cooldown. She gets a flat 25 bonus damage per auto attack. Cern's Summer Heat however, gives not only 25 extra damage, but an extra +20% of his power as damage. I think it's fair enough to compare the added life steal and slow to Izanami's attack speed steroid, and say that Cern has the better steroid. Feel free to disagree, however. I'm biased and trying to make a point. Spectral Projection and Bramble Blast265% + 90% with a weak-to-moderate slow, on a 12 second cooldown. Not bad for a hunter! However, Cern's Bramble Blast is much easier to hit, with close to the same damage. Assuming he hits and roots his target, they should take at least 2 ticks of DoT damage, and perhaps two more if they lack a movement ability to get away. That means 240-280 + 85-95% damage. In a wide AoE. Did I mention it has a 1 second root? Fade Away versus Horn ChargeThe only reason these two are comparable is because they're movement abilities. As far as abilities go, Izanami theoretically has the better one, since she can use walls and her resulting stealth to unleash surprise attacks and escape death. I'll go ahead and give this round to Izanami, even though I strongly believe Cern has the better ability, since it does repositions him faster while doing damage. Last but not least, Dark Portal versus The Wild Hunt.Izanami does more damage, in a smaller, easier to escape area, with a scaling silence that maxes at 2.5s duration. It has a lower cooldown, lower cost, and more damage than Cern's, but it is nearly impossible to hit on her own. Meanwhile, Cern is sitting on a larger AoE, with a form of CC superior to silence that always lasts 2 seconds at all ranks. It is moderately easy to hit without set-up, and to top it all off, it does a fair amount of damage. ConclusionAll in all, I think Cernunnos is Izanami on steroids. The only real advantages Izanami has over Cern are just attack speed on her steroid, and her Fade Away's stealth. I'm not saying nerf Cern, or buff Izanami, but I am saying buff Artemis. :^) Don't forget, I didn't compare his passive lifesteal and movement speed slows built into his Shifter of Seasons ability. It really needs a cooldown when switching between stances. It basically just gives him what he needs at any point he needs it. [link] [comments] |
What has been seen, cannot be unseen: Pantless Smite Characters Posted: 07 May 2017 12:29 PM PDT Pretty sure someone else has said this before, if not.. I'm glad it has finally been said. There are no 'pant' purchaseable items in the game. There are helmets, rings, necklaces, gems, capes, robes, 5 billion chestplates, boots, and weapons of all the sort. But not a single pant item. WE ARE ALL IN THE NOODZ!! Hirez please fix. [link] [comments] |

What happened to updating old skins? Posted: 07 May 2017 03:49 AM PDT A little less than 3 months ago, Hi-Rez Chris posted this thread asking for which skins players think need some kind of texture update or maybe even a voice pack. It's been quite a while since and we haven't seen or heard of any kind of follow up to this. I don't mean to sound impatient, because I know updating a skin or making a new voice pack can take time, but I feel like Hi-Rez has been completely silent about the topic since posting that thread, so...Yeah. Just curious whether there will be any updates soon or not if anything, because there hasn't been anything on it so far. [link] [comments] |

Posted: 07 May 2017 06:06 PM PDT Lol honestly everybody needs to calm down with all the complaining about ranked system. Got placed gold 5. Went on 10 win streak. Got promoted to plat 5, and all the games were insanely easy. If you deserve to go higher. You will! Just win! [link] [comments] |
Are they going to do anything else with favour? Posted: 07 May 2017 11:01 AM PDT After a certain point favour becomes useless, let's face it. I've purchased every re color, all the golden, diamond and about half of the legendry skins (stopped buying when I realised I could just use diamond). I've got about 80k favour just sat there waiting to be spent on the next god. Will they ever do anything else with favour? Perhaps a favour chest that costs 20k a roll? (A bit farfetched) it'd be nice if they could allow us to buy voice packs with favour or something (at like 20k). [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 May 2017 08:14 PM PDT I know this has been said, but please just revert hastend fatalis back to season 3. It's getting to the point where it's only being nerfed, and I don't think it should be removed like Golden Bow. With the new changes, all you're doing is hurting characters like Freya and Khali. By just removing the pen the item will be fine, but maybe by adding 10% lifesteal it would remain desirable. By just going back to season 3, we run back into it being a bland and unnecessary item. That's why they made it give pen in the beginning of season 4. [link] [comments] |

Idea for Spectator mode: Orbital mode Posted: 07 May 2017 12:54 PM PDT So anyone who's watched the SPL enough has probably seen the comment "I wish the camera-man went into 3rd person a lot more". I've heard it from spectators and pros alike, and they do have a valid point. 3rd person is a very unique view to Smite, and having that in the SPL as much as possible will really help hit home the fact that this isn't a normal MOBA. It also lets us see a fight from a pro's perspective, which is another fantastic thing. There's one minor problem though: 3rd person spectator sucks. It is actual trash tier apart from the visual stunning ultimates, like Thor ultimate, Rama ultimate, and a couple other "snipe" ultimates. You can rarely see all the fight going on, quite often the player spins a lot as well, which is incredibly disorienting and looks terrible mid fight. Most spectators either use this top down format, or 1st person format for a very good reason, because 3rd person just looks terrible if used incorrectly, which isn't down to how good the cameraman is, it's how the players play the map, and the teamfight. So my suggestion is to try and fix these player problems, by taking the camera control away from the player. In Smite's spectator system, there is actually something very similar to what I'm suggesting. If you have the time, go into any game ( /spectate <x> and wait a few minutes for it to pull you in), stay in Free Cam mode, select a player, and then press the Alt key. You should be able to "orbit" around that player, at the exact same distance using A and D. If you want to change the radius of the orbit (zoom out), you can use S, and W to go back in. My suggestion would just to be able to use this on Assisted mode, so regardless of the direction the player is facing, you are facing the way you WANT to be looking (aka at the teamfight). My only addition to this would be changing Q and E to change the angle of the camera (Look up, look down). That'd mean you can get the whole scope of the teamfight, while being in a 3rd person view that would have some resemblance to how the game is actually played. Would love your thoughts on this idea, and any other improvements to spectator (other than the low hanging fruits like more pre-recorded games, or storage of games on your own computer etc.) TL:DR - Allow the ALT key function during Assisted mode, rather than just Free Cam in Spectator, and improve it by letting us change the camera angle as well.
