How Niantic restrains a whole city from playing

There is a city in Germany with about 20 gyms and a quite lively red/blue player base. Unfortunately, one player now has set up the whole others, even from his own team, against him. How? Spoofing.

He admitted it in several Facebook groups and PM and even explained this method. Everybody was happy when he went to jail for few months (of course due to other reasons) and both teams had settled in their respective gyms. Unfortunately he went out and started again to pull down each and every gym in his city. If the other team reconquers it only takes minutes until it is back in his hands. And there is nothing one can do.

A lot of players, including myself, already reported him together with screenshots and pictures, but unfortunately no action has been taken for months.

Nobody wants to fight in gyms anymore in his hometown and now, as he got bored, he started "travelling" to the adjacent cities to apply the same method. Sooner or later, the playerbase in these cities also will lose their motivation.

So, please Niantic, if a bunch of people all report the same person and even provide a proof of cheating, why do you still consider losing the whole playerbase here by doing nothing?

I catch shiny karp. My game freezes while looking at its stats. I close app, open game again...and karp is gone. Kill me. (Pic for proof I caught it). I put in a ticket with Niantic, but I'm assuming I'm SOL.

As a community, i choose to believe we are actively attempting to better ourselves. This, would be a good start as all of us can agree these screenshots are a waste of space, clog the sub of useful posts, are not entertaining, and no, you aren' the first to see this bug.

Plus, come on guys. Its actually against the sub rules.

I understand that shinies are very rare but I didn't expect to catch this many and never find a shiny. Was a fun event though!

Just caught my first wild Snorlax in about 6 months, I used a Pinap berry and caught it. That's 7 candies I just got.

7candies x 5km = 35km of walking.

Can you see the six Valor and Instinct players fighting over the gym? Lighthouse is unmanned and no one is under the tree. Afraid that spoofing will kill any system of proximity trading like it is killing the gyms.

[Discussion] Anyone else struggling to go back to their usual Biome spawns after the Water Festival?

I woke up this morning knowing no more Magikarp.

My regular Biome isn't anything special, I see it as "normal" in that I get the usual Pidgeys, Rats, etc. the most, but a lot of Krabby, Staryu, Horsea and the occassional Clefairy, Growlithe etc. Basically a mixture of all bar Coastal spawns.

99.9% of my spawns are boring af. I don't have an abundance of Larvitar spawn (caught 1), or Lapras (hadn't caught 1 until the event, so I made the most of it and caught 8...), or Dratini (unless I go to the water), No Snorlax (caught 2 in odd locations I never go too). All of the top tier catches I basically never see, so the event with all the Magikarp, Seel, Lapras was really great, but now I am back to the normal spawns and struggling...

I don't want to complain about my spawns, just want to discuss how I am feeling. This is actually the first time I am "bored" of the game.

I was kept going by the constant battle to get Lapras (only Gen 1 needed since October), now that drive is gone. I caught a Larvitar a week before the event, so I don't have that drive either. Got Mareep.

I have been waiting for a double experience event, saving thousands of Pidgey, Rat and other candy to evolve, as well as a bunch of new Gen 2 evolves. I expect it to come at Easter, but once it does, what then? I am afraid that, since I am already feeling slightly bored, that once that is over I will have nothing else really to play for....

I love the game, and want to keep playing, but there is nothing keeping me going.

I play the gym game to get coins for incubators, I need incubators for a select few that pretty much only come in 10km eggs (bar Tyrogue). If there is nothing else keeping me here, I don't know if I will continue purely for the distance grind... Hatching repeated Krabby, Paras, Staryu, Poliwag just isn't fun, to eventually get a 10km egg to hatch a Pineco or Mantine...

Anyway, thanks for reading. How is everyone else coping going back to the mundane?

[Complaint] Dodging is in the worst state it has ever been in

What the hell is going on with this game? I was happy to see this bug go a few months ago, but it has since returned with a vengeance.

There is literally no point to gym prestiging right now. Why take my 1200 Parasects against the 2400+ CP Vaporeon - where even if I dodge successfully - I'm still gonna get KO'd?

When this bug first existed, it was roughly 50% of charge attacks that would completely negate my dodge. It would take the full amount of health as if I didn't dodge, then restore it. Now it is more like 90% of charge attacks don't even bother registering the dodge. Hell, even basic attacks are beginning to act this way (take full health, restore it after)

I won't even bother with gyms until this is fixed. I can without a doubt say that this is one of the worst states I have ever seen the game in technically - slow as hell, spawned Pokemon suddenly disappearing, nearby going suddenly blank, poor dodge tracking.....what the hell is going on?

So I know Shiny Karps are for you only, meaning a shiny Karp for you will not necessarily be shiny for your mate.
As a result, I think it may be more than generous of Niantic if they were to make it so people who have not found a shiny yet have increased chance of getting one before the event ends.
Time is ticking fast and we only have a handful of hours left before we will never see a Karp in the wild. Yeah I'm kind of freaking out.

Now that the Water Festival is over, I don't think( I will ever get a Lapras unless a miracle happens. I didn't have any lucky in finding Lapras during the Water Festival. I get the feeling that Vaporeon was more common than Lapras during the Festival. Am I wrong?

I can't help but inevitably feel a bit down. Lapras is extremely rare yet everyone else I know who is playing Pokemon Go caught one.
