The moment I realized my grandfather was old

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 02:06 PM PDT

My grandfather used to do construction jobs here and there (stopped in early 2016, this was just before his retirement) and would always bring a speaker to play his favorite songs while he worked. I had just moved into a new place, and he had offered to fix up some of the weird, incredibly janky modifications the old residents left. I accepted, so one day he came over and started fixing up a doorway. He started playing his music, and I heard The Wanderer coming from upstairs as I was in the kitchen. A song released in 1961 that he remembered from his teenage years, and I remembered from Fallout 4 trailers. We had a weird cross-generational moment of music appreciation.

I played and finished the main story of Fallout 4 and absolutely LOVED it, I went ahead and bought NV and 3 on Steam and...Eh

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 08:30 AM PDT

To start off, please don't tear me to bits for this.

Fallout 4 is my first Fallout game, I always heard of NV and 3 but never played them.

Last friday I finished the main story line of 4 and I LOVED it every minute (I even plan on buying Nuka World DLC and Far Harbour DLC). I can easily play it in a 3 hour sitting without getting bored.

So I bought NV and 3 (Ultimate Edition and GOTY edition - together costing me €12,-).

I installed NV first and after the first 2 hours I can say I don't really enjoy it... Honestly I feel like I have too force myself to start the game up. The graphics I can live with, but the game just feels a bit boring, and overall it feels as if it's more difficult.

Also it feels like weapons barely do any damage.

What gives? Am I missing something here?
Again, Í'm not bashing anything here just curious if my playstyle is wrong, I haven't played 3 yet but I assume the playstyle is the same.

How did you get into Fallout?

Some people paint dioramas. I get by on food coloring, coffee grounds, and marker.

Hey fallout fans what do you think of a mobile port of fallout 1 and 2

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 03:05 PM PDT

Personally I love the idea of being able to play a fallout game on the go and I think with a few tweaks to the UI I think it could be quite fun. And could definitely get some casual gamers into fallout or cause them to try fallout 4 or nv or 3 or even become pc gamers because of it

So I decided to make a petition to try and get Bethesda to do this

petition

Ps sorry for my terrible grammar it's not my strong suit :(

I just got the significance of this title

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 02:46 PM PDT

So in fallout 4 there is a title you are given a title as "the wo/man out of time" at first I thought this meant "out of the past" or something similar but the other day while talking to mama Murphey (oh and I'll be using my characters pronouns from now on but they all are pretty much the same for either gender) "You are a woman out of time out of hope but not all's lost" and it made me think I guess i really the sole survivor really is out of time out of time for saving their son out of time for watching them grow, and then you remember that mama Murphey was the first to call you this piper and so on do as well but she was the first, maybe she knew more than she was letting on and didn't want you too find out about shaun.

What are some of Fallout 4's most interesting/biggest secrets?

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 02:43 PM PDT

I'm thinking along the lines of the Experimental MIRV from Fallout 3? Anything similar in FO4 and its LDC?

How to do ED-E's companion quest?

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 04:47 AM PDT

I have the quest in my quest log but I don't know what to do. I was in that jewelry place in fo:nv when ED-E started talking about mariposa and an enclave officer at nellis.

Stimpak automatically favorites itself

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 02:20 PM PDT

For some my stimpaks are favoriting itself so that when I press down on my D-pad (xbox one) it is always set as stimpak, unless they are removed from my inventory. This bothers me because well, it is one of my main guns it is replacing and because i never favorite/set a hotkey for stimpaks. Any idea of why this is happening/ how to fix it?

Which is your favorite protagonist in a main Fallout game (Strawpoll)?

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 08:13 AM PDT

Fallout has protagonists that come from humble beginnings, but they would all come to change the Wasteland significantly for future generations, such as stabilizing the region enough for post-war governments to rise and preventing genocide. While they all have somewhat established origins (some more than others), their choices out in the world will define who they become, be that a protector of the weak or a total psychopath, for example.

Here's the poll, have a good time discussing your choice in the comments.

Having trouble with Fallout 2 on Steam

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 12:49 PM PDT

Hello everyone, I hope someone can explain what could be happening with my Fallout 2 game. I bought Fallout 2 on Steam and I noticed that a lot of quests (the quest I am doing is finding pretty boy lloyd) were going no where, so I decided to look up walkthrough's on Youtube to see what I am doing wrong. I thought maybe I am not activating people and things for the quests because I'm not talking to the right people to activate it. I noticed that while watching the walkthrough, New Reno looked so different compared to the guy I was watching play it, and mine. It is because steam sells a bad Fallout 2? Am I not talking to the right people to enact the changes for quests? I hope this made sense, and I hope someone could help. Thanks.

Johnny Depp

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 04:06 PM PDT

I know this probably couldn't happen but I would love for a companion played by Johnny Depp like a extremely better Jericho an old 'retired' raider but with much more depth and an addition of some goofiness. what actors would you guys like to see play characters in fallout

Laser weapons in Fallout 4

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 03:15 PM PDT

I've only played about 50 hours total of NV, and only about one hour of 3 but in both it was very clear that energy weapons were less common and harder to maintain ammo and conditionwise. But when I played 4 for the first time I got my hands on a laser musket almost immediately, and within 30 minutes I had around 300 extra rounds. Although in NV there is a metal box with a laser pistol and some ammo in doc Mitchell's house, but the pistol is half broken and there are only 32 shots. Once you move on from the minutemen and go out further into the story energy weapons certainly aren't as common as standard weapons, but they're easier to find than in the other games. And once you meet all the major factions all but the railroad mainly use laser weapons. It may seem like I'm making this out to be bad, but I'm fairly neutral on this change. Energy weapons are made more accessible to the player, but because most enemies don't use energy weapons you still get to feel special for using them. However, this new accessibility does kind of make it feel like things are just being handed to you. I have no idea what this change has do in relation to the lore, and I'm really quite clueless on the lore in general besides basics. So what do you more long-time and devoted fallout fans think about this change, and is it explained through the lore is it just a result of Fo4's supposed change from an RPG to an FPS?

Just a few minutes ago I had explored the H&H tool factory and read an inter office email that threatened to fire employees for talking to Tragic players.

Empire Mods for Fallout 4?

Posted: 29 Mar 2017 10:54 PM PDT

In regards to Fallout 4 (or any Fallout game, really), are there any mods or anything related that allow you to found/rule a country, kingdom or empire? I know that Fo4 has the Minutemen, and as such, are there any mods that make them more like your own personal country?

(I say this being a power-hungry wannabe dictator, of course)

Fallout 2 Problems

Posted: 30 Mar 2017 05:24 AM PDT

Alright. So I am in the hubologist base in Frisco, I was asked by the Shi to take out AHS-9. I do, along with all the guards and such. My companions consist of Goris, Marcus, and Vic. When I end combat and goris puts his cloak back on, the game crashes. And I cant get the message either. Something about memory. Please help. EDIT: I do have the steam version. But I also have the original trilogy version. Should I use the original trilogy?
