We're a small, friendly community of 6 people. You might remember some of our members from taking World's first Zhaitan and Mordremoth.

Now we formed a new guild to continue our activities like beating bosses like Primordus, Jormag, evil Mursaad, sinister organizations and infamous traitors. I tried to recruit many of my friends for this cause but they seem to reject me for some complicated reasons. That's why I wanted to make a post here on reddit.

If you want to be a part of us, /whisper to me:

After the boss' HP went down to 33% for the first time, this happened multiple times when starting the fight again. This might not be working as intended...

There was also a mass-disconnect at 33% once.

The Juggernaut on Scrapper finally has the quicksilver effect on all its hammer skills!

Posted: 10 Feb 2017 09:24 AM PST

And it's glorious! I just randomly realized this while doing some events in the new map. The most you enjoy this new effect is while you cast skill 3, obviously. Now if ArenaNet just added something to the Grenade Barrage (it turns to plasma when you're wielding The Predator for example) and it would be perfect.

[Potential Bug] About the Jade Shard Nodes

Posted: 10 Feb 2017 04:38 PM PST

Are the new Jade Shard nodes bugged? I haven't gotten a single Jade Shard in two days, but on the first day I got on average one shard per node. It might be RNG, but the variance would be ludicrous, going from one shard per node to nothing for 100 or more nodes in a row.

[Spoiler] Caudecus's Manor after LS3E4.

Posted: 10 Feb 2017 06:01 AM PST

Since all rightful owners of the manor are dead I think that Anet have good opportunity to use it for something else, more specifically: player's house.

Queen Jennah could give Pact Commander this manor as reward for solving the problem with Caudecus and 2 (atm) Elder Dragons. It could be upgraded and modified thanks to scribing, which would be finally open for everyone, not just guild members (even there was only one in guild, for best efficiency). Of course items should require less ingredients since this home instance is owned by individual players. It would be nice if nodes from other home instances could appear also there (along with cats).

Related dungeon and LS3E4 should always be available of course, there shouldn't be any problem with that to be honest.

Major Chronomancer bug: Illusions trait line doesn't correctly reduce cooldown of Continuum Split

Posted: 10 Feb 2017 03:19 AM PST

Hey, I ran into a pretty major bug and I was hoping I could get some other Chronomancer players to perhaps reproduce it. I've submitted it as a bug report in-game too.

With the Illusions trait line, we get a minor trait called Master of Misdirection, which decreases the duration of our shatter skills by 15%. This means that Continuum Split should have its cooldown reduced from 90 seconds to 76.5 seconds.

Here's the bug: if you have the Illusions trait line and cast and end Continuum Split manually, you will get the reduced 76.5-second cooldown of Continuum Splt. If you don't end it manually and it times out on its own, you get the full 90-second cooldown.

Mesmer - Inadequacy Complex?

Posted: 10 Feb 2017 11:20 AM PST

I play a mesmer. Have played a mesmer since beta. Have a mesmer in GW1. And playing the new content? All I have to say is: - When do I get the ability to encase all of Divinity's Reach in a bubble? - When do I get the ability to do five Mind Stabs at the same time? - When do I get double life so that when I'm dead my health bar is suddenly full? - Why can't I summon a sword in my hand? Why am I stuck carrying it? - Why can't I one-shot my enemy by pointing at them? - Can I have invisible shoes as a skin?

I'm watching Queen Jennah and all of the White Mantle mesmers, and seriously starting to get a complex. For years I thought I was all that, and now, I'm beginning to wonder if I'm just another Logan Thackeray. Sniffle.

Someone console me. And send illusionary chocolate. Or just please give me the ability to conjure it.

New raid bosses have annoying/inconsistent armor value

Posted: 10 Feb 2017 05:59 PM PST

image 1 image 2

Just gonna preface this by saying I'm a huge turbo-nerd and I just want the game to be a little more consistent.

Armor is a combination of toughness and defense. Standard level 80 mob has 1223 defense and 1374 toughness. Sum of those is 2597.

Skill tooltips all use 2597 armor to calculate their damage at level 80 (this is how I tested it, as turret detonations do steady damage; 1270 on a 2597 armor target).

When they implemented the DPS golems, someone decided a "1400 toughness" tip would be useful to add to them (even though it means nothing without the defense value), and changed their toughness multiplier from 1.0 to 1.019.

Previous raid bosses have had consistent (at least with the rest of the game) toughness multipliers, like 0.5, 0.75, 1.0, etc. They're clean and simple. The new bosses have this 1.019 multiplier and it's

bothering

me.

anet pls fix the dps golem and these new raid bosses before the inconsistencies get any worse

(i know it's not a huge deal, it's only 1% less power damage compared to a standard 2597 armor. still bugs me!)

edit: it's not even all 4 bosses, as the 2nd and 4th bosses appear to have 1.0 multipliers, but the 1st and 3rd bosses have 1.019 AGHHHH

Possible Spoilers: Salvage Rate Research for leather farm

Posted: 10 Feb 2017 05:52 AM PST

TL/DR

  • I salvaged lots of Unstable Hides and Bloodstone-Warped Hides

  • Use Copper-Fed Salvage-o-Matic or fine Salvage kit, not master or silver fed kit

  • Bloodstone warped hides drop over 60% t5 leather, which nobody wants

  • Unstable Hides drop 3 times more t6 leather and 5 times more t2-t4 leather than bloostone-warped hides

  • Kill white mantle to get unstable hide drops

I had a deeper look into leather salvage rates from the Unstable Hides, which got introduced in episode 1 and mostly drop from white mantle in the new maps and raids and the new Bloodstone-Warped Hides, which got introduced with Tuesday´s Wendesday´s new episode.

Now I only played the new map for a couple of hours on wednesday, did some story missions and map events/hearts and didnt check the centaur camp leather farm myself yet. But from what I have heard, the Bloodstone-Warped Hides drop primarily from all the centaurs there, please correct me if I am wrong.

I wanted to check, if both salvage items have the same drop tables and distribution and how much of an influence the rarity of the salvage kits has.

So I salvaged 1k of each hide, which copper and silver fed salvage o matic, 4000 hides in total.

After I was done, I arranged the 4 different loot tables in my inventory, one in each corner, to make first comparisons between them and draw some conclusions.

  • Top left corner has 1k Bloodstone Warped Hides with copper fed

  • Top right has 1k Unstable Hides with copper fed

  • Bottom left ha 1k bloodstone warped hides with silver fed

  • Bottom right has 1k Unstable Hides with silver fed

The leather on each droptable is arranged from t1 on the left to t6 on the right. When i got more than 1 stack of one leather, additional stacks were placed either below or over the full stack.

Profits

I didnt calculate profits for each hide and salvage kit individually yet, as prices are highly volatile atm but i paid 202g for the 2k of each hide yesterday night and after tp fees and salvage costs, i made a profit of around 45g by selling all the sections unrefined at lowest listing value. All sold overnight.

Which salvage kit to use

Again, i didnt crunch the numbers yet, but i would tend to use a copper fed or fine salvage kit. A higher rarity salvage kit only influences the volume of drops you get (you get 2 or 3 sections more often) but not vertical distribution, so you wont get more t6 than t5, if you ue a master or silver fed kit.

For unstable hides, it might be worth paying the extra salvage costs but i will do the math later

Distribution

These are the most interesting findings, in my opinion. It is quite clear, that the mayority of drops from the Bloodstone warped hides are t5 leather, while the unstable hides drop 3 times more t6 leather and 5 times more t2-t4 than the bloodstone hides.

Conclusion

If the new leather farm in the centaur camp primarily drops Bloodstone-Warped Hides, you will mostly farm t5 leather.

If Unstable Hides primarily drop from white mantle mobs, it would probably be most efficient to farm t6 leather by killing lots of white mantle during (scaled up) map events with a high magic find.

One of Lake Doric hidden achievements requires an event to fail [spoiler]

Posted: 10 Feb 2017 03:39 AM PST

There's a hidden "Execute the Executioner" achievement that only spawns after Saidra's Haven defense has failed and it being controlled by the White Mantle. We just attempted it, and even managed to convince people to fail it (yay!) but the event didn't spawn.

I thought we're beyond this approach now that legendary collections got so much frowned upon for doing exactly that?

It's especially annoying because there were people who wanted to do the defense for the mastery point and we got flamed in mapchat...

EDIT: we got a dev response!

Hey everyone! While it may not seem that way when it happens, we do not want to introduce things into the game where people feel they have to fail in order to be rewarded. The team is looking over the achievement and developing a fix that will allow folks to succeed and get this achievement. Hold tight and thank you for your reports !
