Hey folks,
Welcome to Workshop Wednesday, a community-building, regularly occurring thread on the subreddit!
Workshop Wednesday is a thread aimed at all things crafting, from sharing tips and knowledge, providing assistance, or offering crafting services to others.
Got a way to get more of those pesky crafting mats into your inventory? Have a rare recipe you're willing to produce for others? Just want to help with crafting as a whole? Let the community know here!
Crafting is a deep system in The Elder Scrolls Online with multiple professions, so be sure to participate in the thread whether you're a crafting novice or a master at sweetroll baking.
Please keep in mind the "no personal attacks" rule in our sidebar, disagree respectfully with others, and know that a repeated or seemingly obvious bit of knowledge may not be obvious to everyone.
In addition, please be careful about posting in-game information about your account name/characters for conducting crafting business. We recommend contact information be shared privately to keep your account secure.
We look forward to your contributions!

Elk Mount is 4,500 crowns... are you kidding me?
Posted: 21 Dec 2016 08:28 AM PST
$36 in crowns. Wow so expensive! I was gonna get it but now I'm rethinking paying for this.

Update: Some posters asked for source so I went back to the site to link it and it's gone. I invite any of you to save and enlarge this picture to look for any sign of doctoring. This is not a hoax and their listing was removed off their page after this thread was made.

Can we have a quick talk about the crownstore.
Posted: 21 Dec 2016 11:03 AM PST
Ok, now prefacing this I'm going to get a few comments saying 'Just cosmetics, no likey, no lighty.' And whilst it is, you should still be able to see a clear pattern. It started with imperial edition and explorer pack. Straight of the bat locking you out of the 'play your way' for not paying. But OK, it got better, 1T means no need for explorer pack, and imperial isn't necessary. The current system is like the angry Joe skit come true.
Whether you agree with me or not, you have be able to see the pattern coming along. Yes they have to make money now there is no sub fee, but there are better ways. And if you do agree, vote with your wallets unless you want all future items to be like this.
submitted by /u/BigDickWithABigDick - Dro'mathra senche: More recently this was released at 4k crowns, (around £10 for me at the time) And I bought it as I had a surplus. People complained about the price then.
- After came the grim Harlequin motif, the first thing that gave a real advantage over other players, as they could charge for the style and sell grinstones, effectively semi legalizing gold selling. 2200c for motif+ 24/54 stones. It set the precedent for what was to come.
- CrownCrates: Wooo boyyy. A sensitive subject. Either go through the miniscule RNG chances or dish out $100. B-b-but its not RNG guis? Not ALL bad, since nothing in there gives a PvE/P or even trading bonus like the motifs. Bit exploitative to people with addictions and brings SWTOR to mind.
- Stalhrim: Similar to before, but with one caveat. Only 5 stones. Not even enough for a full set. You basically pay money to pay money. But.... at least its 200 crowns cheaper...? Unless you go the legalized gold seller path.
- Elk mount: A very recent post said it is worth 4.5k crowns, as if you are paying for the privilege of no RNG. (I suppose this may just be because crown prices have changed for me) But it is still a whole lot of money for what is quite a vanilla (Non glowy/reskined) mount.
Whether you agree with me or not, you have be able to see the pattern coming along. Yes they have to make money now there is no sub fee, but there are better ways. And if you do agree, vote with your wallets unless you want all future items to be like this.

[PSA] The Official Word On Purchasing Past Crown Store Items Through CS
Posted: 21 Dec 2016 07:55 AM PST
Actually Jessica just expanded on one of the original posts:
Emphasis mine.
I got a very succinct answer from ZOS contacts about the issue of whether or not customer service can assist in purchasing past Crown Store items:
This request was made officially on behalf of our Reddit community as a whole and should be taken as the official stance on the issue. While we understand that there are many credible sources and cases that contradict this statement, it is not a policy for CS to do this. Can they? Yes, probably. Do they as a matter of policy? No. And CS has probably received a clarification on the policy from management as a result of the highly visible discussion we had the other day (one, two) so don't expect positive results from such inquiries going forward.
submitted by /u/dominoid73 We are currently testing a gifting program in which you can purchase and gift currently available Crown Store items to a friend. As this is in the very early stages, we are not yet ready to open it to everyone. We only allow for the sale and gifting of Crown Store items that are actively available in the Crown Store. Those who are participating in the testing of this program are not able to buy Crown Store items that are no longer available.
There were recently a few cases where this was erroneously permitted, and have been corrected.
If you're interested in participating in this program, you may contact our Support team but please keep in mind that this is currently a manual process. We hope this helps clear up any confusion about the program, and we look forward to bringing it to everyone in the future.
Emphasis mine.

[Discussion] Allow Us To Protect Our Guild From Trolls!
Posted: 21 Dec 2016 08:25 AM PST
I have posted about this before but I just have to bring it up again after recent incidents in my guild..
I run a PvE guild with over 400 members and for months now, we have been plagued by a handful of trolls that weasel invites and post obscene things in text chat, change member notes to obscenities and racial slurs, and just generally try to undermine the guild.
The result is that I am constantly having to remove the trolls while revoking the privileges of 400+ people. This is not acceptable! Why should a friendly, open guild have to restrict itself because of a handful of trolls?!
I and others have repeatedly reported these trolls but always get the same canned response and as soon as I grant permissions back, lo and behold, the trolls return.
ZoS, PLEASE, at the very least grant Guildmasters the ability to PERMANENTLY ban people from our guild! If you won't do anything about the trolling in this game, at least give us the power to protect our guild. Other things that would be extremely helpful in guild management would be a history of who is inviting who and who is changing member notes.
TL;DR Give us the ability to protect our guild from trolls! Please upvote to garner more attention to this issue.

ZOS, please implement a LOCK for enchantment
Posted: 21 Dec 2016 01:33 PM PST
Just as there is a lock for accidentally destroying a weapon/piece of gear, PLEASE add a lock so pieces can not be over-enchanted. The enchantment is right next to the charge option, so it is easy to make a slip up. I know folks who have over-enchanted maelstrom weapons. This cannot happen!!!

[PC] Blocking with staff bug
Posted: 21 Dec 2016 10:34 AM PST
I woke up to an annoying bug this morning and googling the issue hasn't turned up any results, so I'm hoping someone here can point me in the right direction. Whenever I block with a staff (any kind on any character) the camera switches to third person and the character gets stuck in the blocking animation. Scrolling does not change the camera view. I am only blocking when my right mouse button is pressed down, but the character's stance stays the same. Sheathing my weapon seems to return everything to normal, but I would rather not have to deal with this.
I have tried disabling all add-ons, restarting the game, testing on other characters, testing different weapons, resetting to default controls, and using a different mouse. The only thing I haven't tried is re-downloading the game, and I would rather not do that because last time it took me four days. Has anyone else had this problem? Help!

Can you guys help me figure out a good Templar Healer PvP build?
Posted: 21 Dec 2016 07:11 AM PST
Mostly in terms of gear. What sets should I be running for survivability as well as to provide solid healing? My first bar is my resto staff while my second is s&b. I did some research but couldn't find anything up to date.

Getting mid level materials for crafting is almost impossible.
Posted: 21 Dec 2016 09:59 AM PST
One Tamriel is great but it's biggest flaw in my opinion is how mats are discovered. It's based on level and crafting level. I saw someone selling 27 galitite for 30k! Wtf? I really wish that areas had specific types of metal/cloth/leather as well. Making mid level gear is kind of a hassle and heavy on the wallet sometimes. What do you think?

Brand new ESO player. Pls advise
Posted: 21 Dec 2016 01:32 PM PST
As a brand new player. No crafting. No CP points. No nothing.
Please help me choose the best character to be my first where I can get everything I will need for future characters.
Also I will be soloing a lot other than when my buddy gets game in a few days. Then we can play together when we are able
I have seen lots of guides but they seem to be for people experienced of have CP points or can craft their own gear or have money.
Thanks

[Video] Some Magicka Templar PVP Builds
Posted: 21 Dec 2016 10:45 AM PST
Video (~28 mins) (I apologize in advance for my allergies)
I play non-cp (Azura's) and I have a few different builds that I use. Generally I play pretty tanky and heal as well as do some dps, running in medium sized groups typically (8-12).
For those not wanting to go through the video right now here's the long and short of it:
Bar 1
Base Item Set: 5 Kagrenac's Hope, awesome set for healers and craftable which helps getting the right traits
Monster Set: Depending on playstyle, group, and opponents, either Valkyn Skoria (ranged), Grothdarr (melee), or Malubeth (tanky) would work here.
Second 5 piece: Transmutation or Rattlecage
Generally I will use either destro and sword and board or dual wield and sword and board. I always use sword and board for increased tankiness on my defensive/healing bar. If you want to use destro staff for the ultimate ability, you can use either 4 transmutation (you don't need the 5th piece on your offensive bar anyway) or 3 transmutation plus a maelstrom destro. If you do maelstrom, then replace dark flare with blockade of fire and use grothdarr since you'll need to be in melee range more anyway.
If you want to go dw/s&b, then on your offensive bar you can use two torug's pact swords for more damage and still have 3 transmutation. If you use rattlecage you will have to do some farming or switching sets around and go dw/s&b. Overall you will have more damage and you can use spell crit pots instead of spell power pots.
Race: Breton or Altmer would work best I think. May also use Argonian or Dunmer.
Mundus: Atronach
Hope this is helpful!

What is Something Mindless I Can Do?
Posted: 21 Dec 2016 06:04 AM PST
Hey All, I'm looking forward to a week off from work and just want something boring and mindless to farm as I mentally defragment.
Is there anything in ESO that I can farm for that would be beneficial? Especially if it's for any guilds that I'm in? Crafting materials, items, drops, anything like that?
Thanks for the suggestions!

Vampirism These Days
Posted: 21 Dec 2016 12:28 PM PST
I used to run a khajiit as a stealthy vampire...the 40% fire made me heal it. I now run a khajiit Stam Blade as my main and was considering running a gang build with 5 Dreugh King Slayer, 5 Viper, and 2 Veldrith. Dual wield and Bow. Was trying to stack passive damages from poisons and such and am debating the speed and stealth of vampirism. Is it worth it these days?

[Discussion]Consoles need a text chat filter.
Posted: 20 Dec 2016 02:27 PM PST
I love the fact that they gave us text chat on consoles but it blows my mind that there are different text chat channels but you can't filter out a single one. I recently joined an awesome social guild that uses text chat a lot and I love it. As someone in a small apartment with an SO frequently watching TV while I play, voice chat isn't always an option. Unfortunately, while I'm trying to have a conversation/coordinate with guild members in text chat, people are spamming zone set items or nonsense in zone chat. And it's the same for whispering. I just want to be able to isolate one text thread from the rest so I can concentrate on one chat conversation. And don't get me wrong, I love the cancerous wild west of zone chat. I think it's a great tool. I just want to be able to turn it off sometimes and still be able to communicate with my guildies and friends.
If this feature exists please tell me how to use it. If ZOS has promised an implement please let me know. I feel like I've scoured the internet and can't find any information on this subject. Thanks for your time.
