TIL that the Zombie Pigman texture used to be bloodier and gorier, but Notch thought that "it's more fun to be scary without blood".

Waterfall Valley - you can ride on horseback from the road, all the way up the tower, across the bridge, and into the sphere.

I've been working on this for about four months now. Thinking of calling it the Fortress of Salvation.

It seams like using flight distance 127 fireworks and elytra is better than the creative flight in some cases.

After a long flight, sometimes the gliding pose doesn't change back into standing pose. In normal worlds, it usually makes the player get stuck and in flat worlds, they "crawl."

Did the End just get a whole lot safer? Elytra & rockets vs ender pearling.

The End still scares me.
It's not the Endermen, so much. It's the tension of knowing whether or not I've thrown an ender pearl far enough, or too far, to land safely on the next island. Or, while trying to make a 1-block wide bridge, is my finger going to slip off the shift button? Or is a rogue enderman going to bump me off? Or, heaven forbid, I make eye contact with one while bridging! All while being fully equipped and maybe carrying back a ton of loot from End cities. That's why there are always ender pearls in my hotbar, maybe even multiple slots of them, so I can throw them in a panic.
With that in mind, I just updated to 1.11.2 and gave rocket-powered elytra flying a try for the first time (incredibly easy to keep flying, and incredibly fun!). I'm supposed to be working, so I haven't taken the time to go deep into the End, yet. But is the danger now gone? If I'm wearing my elytra and fall, or get knocked off, so what? Fire up a couple of rockets and I'm back on solid ground. This is great for farther exploration, and getting more loot, but did the End just get a whole lot safer?
EDIT: I played a bit during my lunch break and went to the End. I flew for a bit, but that took a rather large chunk of durability out of the elytra. While I didn't purposely hurl myself into the void with full gear to test it, I think the elytra and rockets will definitely be a safety net for a fall. But, with the durability that gets used up, you can't just fly around endlessly, either, meaning there will still need to be a fair bit of bridging and pearl hopping.
