Thank you for SeatStory Cup VI

It's been an amazing weekend and overall an extremely fun tournament to watch. Even though it was a "standard" tournament in terms of rules and deck options, the entertainment value was what made the entire tournament worth watching start to finish. There were some amazing plays this tournament and judging from all the clips posted on this sub, I'd think most people would agree this has been one of the most fun tournaments all year.
Watching the Secret Santa was hilarious and even sweet at times, even the mid-match chats between players were a lot more interesting than most tournaments just because of the more laid-back atmosphere.
Thank you to everyone involved.

[Giveaway] Hero - Medivh
Posted: 18 Dec 2016 07:35 PM PST
Hello there everyone!
As an early Christmas present, I received a copy of the Warcraft movie on Blu-Ray. One of the free goodies with the movie is Medivh in Hearthstone, which I actually had already purchased a while back. So, in the spirit of the season, I am going to give it away!
In order to win, all you need to do is send me a private message stating your absolute favorite thing about the holidays is, and I will send the code to a random person!
Hope everyone has a great holiday, and Merry Christmas!

Just got Legend for the first time playing only Rogue!

Ever since I started hearthstone, I was only ever interested in Rogue. Today I finally made it to legend! My climb from Rank 20-Legend consisted mainly of Jade N'Zoth Rogue and multiple variations of Miracle Rogue.
The deck I climbed from Rank 5-Legend with was a variation of Miracle rogue that I run Burgle in as a 1-of. I've found that this card has single handedly won me games that should have been lost due to pulling really great class cards from my opponent, like pulling Kazacus when I'm at the end of my deck, or various taunts vs Pirate Warriors, or AoE against shaman. I'd post stats but I did this all on mobile without a deck tracker, so I was unable to track everything.
Some ending notes: I went from Rank 1 and fell back to Rank 5/6 about 4 times this season, mainly due to experimenting with new Rogue decks and from testing different cards. My easiest opponents were probably Druids and Priest. Hardest by far was Shaman.
All in all, I feel amazing. It feels great to accomplish a long time goal with my favorite class, and if I had to do it all again I would. Thanks for reading!

Cheesiest Arena deck ever to 12-0
Posted: 18 Dec 2016 03:34 PM PST
I play since open beta but never have I build such a cheesy Arena deck. It really was BrokeBack incarnate: http://imgur.com/8pUtQnh (missing card: DOOM!)
Basically every game was Voidcaller on T4 into Krul/Enforcer. Followed up... By more Voidcaller shenanigans! I played pretty shitty but the broken Demon interactions effortlessly carried me to a 12-0. The most epic game was a Warlock mirror where my opponent beat me to 8 health and stared me down with a board of Bog Creeper, Kraken, and 2 midrange minions. I DOOM'd his board and followed up with a Krul, who was active because I drew all my duplicates by that time :D - "a recent opponent wants to be your friend"
All in all was very funny to play Voidcallers galore, but also a moment of silence for the poor Arena players who were on the receiving end of this silly deck.

To anyone attending the Somerset Mall Tavern Hero Qualifier - did anyone find it??
Posted: 18 Dec 2016 10:21 AM PST
I've been looking for the 'south court' for over an hour now. I've consulted multiple members of security about it, nobody seems to know, but they also say lots of other people are asking too. I have nowhere else to look, so reddit, does anyone have any clue as to where this is?
EDIT: It's been two hours now, I'm heading home after coming up with nothing. I went through that entire mall at least a few times, and there is definetely no event here, despite the fact that it said there was here:
http://us.battle.net/hearthstone/en/fireside-gatherings/27149
This was a Blizzard sanctioned event - for it to just not happen would reflect rather poorly on the company. Is there any way I could contact Blizzard about Fireside events?

Promotional cards and their future in Hearthstone
Posted: 18 Dec 2016 08:07 AM PST
We currently have two promotional cards in this game. Gelbin Mekkatorque and Elite Tauren Chieftain. I'm pretty sure most of you have even forgot these cards existed. And that's nothing to wonder about, since promotional cards started with a good vision, but over time, as we can see today, are non-existant.
So what are promo cards? They are cards distributed at events. Traditionally, these cards have to be very weak and gimmicky since there is no way to obtain them if you don't live under the right circumstances, but in Hearthstone, it is different. Sure, they should still be weak cards, but in Hearthstone you can craft them as well. The only benefit in obtaining them in their originally intended event is getting the cards as golden versions. So already the basic foundation for promo cards is shown to be solid grounds, since everyone can obtain them, granting no player an advantage.
But what happened to them? It seemed like promo cards would be occasional fun additions to the game over time. Gelbin was the reward for purchasing packs in beta and Elite Tauren Chieftain for attending or purchasing a Virtual Ticket for BlizzCon 2013 where Hearthstone was beginning moving with it's own legs. Did they just forget this concept existed? Or did they re-evaluate that this probably wasn't such a great idea none the less? We don't know and we likely won't ever know why they suddenly stopped with it. But imagine the possibilities. People have been asking for bi-monthly card releases just to shake up the meta a bit and add some hype in-between expansions.
And that's where holiday promo cards could come in. Holidays in Hearthstone are all bland and boring. Adding the feature to say "Merry Christmas" is a last-ditch effort to make something christmas~y. What we need, are actual cards that add some holiday cheer into the mix:
Christmas cards
Other events
By winning 3 games during a seasonal event, you obtain the golden version of the event's minion(s). They can have silly effects that fits the holiday, or have out of game effects during the holiday (such as giving gold, as charity is one the key traits of christmas). Of course the gold gets added, you don't lose gold yourself, and to prevent abuse, you cannot use this mechanic when battling friends.
But just something like this to lighten up the mood occasionally would be a great way of adding a lot of variety into the game. Just the feeling of the game actually being alive during the 3 months it takes for Blizzard to make a new expansion is worth adding seasonal promo cards. The cards could also gain a special border like the cards in the old Warcraft TCG have: http://wow.tcgbrowser.com/#!/set=FW2&set=HOL7&set=HOL6&set=HOL&set=DMF&set=FWV
What do you guys think? There is obviously room for much more. I always thought that adding promotions at places like McDonalds where you get a code in each meal you buy that allows you to buy the Warcraft Ronald McDonald sounds like a cool idea, but seasonal events definitely need to happen.

I thought the days of yogg were over
Posted: 18 Dec 2016 08:33 PM PST
I was playing anyfin paladin against a reno(and yogg?) priest and had just played my second anyfin can happen when my opponent plays yogg. I was staring wide eyed at my screen like https://youtu.be/agNT6V7QmlE?t=2m13s The first spell cast was sprint with 6 cards left in his deck, then confuse which buffs my murlocs even more cause of the aura buff interaction. Then he gets his own anyfin completely filling the board but he didn't get a charger. To finish off doom was cast making him draw 14 times and take 12 instances of fatigue dropping him to -74 hp

Brawl Idea: "Slumdog Millionare - make the best of the worst" what do you think?
Posted: 18 Dec 2016 02:52 PM PST
Hi guys i had an idea for a Brawl format that could highlight Player Skills.
You choose a class and you deck will contain random cards,15 class cards and 15 neutral cards (still normal deckbuilding rules maximum of 2 copies per card / 1 per legendary) but now comes the twist.
The Cardpool only contains cards from the bottom 50% of the Tierscore as used in Arena since that format would be somewhat similar I assume.
Let some cards shine that never shined before!
No Broken Cards just the certainty your opponents deck will suck just as much as yours...
thoughts?
EDIT I know that tierscores aren't A Blizzard thing but they could look it up and tierscore is better then saying "the worst 50% of cards" because it doesn't say much.
EDIT 2 Just to clearify it is ment that you get a random deck after choosing a class rather then bulding your own one with a restricted cardpool (which could be a brawl with a meta of its own)
