Beastmaster Skill build
Get
Wild Axes at level 1 and I usually max
Wild Axes then animals after your
Call of the Wild Hawk vision range gets larger so the
greater
Call of the Wild Hawk is worth it for that. in some situations I get
Call of the Wild Boar at 3
instead. Your passive is not worth skipping obviously, but I am not
personally supportive of early levels of your passive. Sometimes you
might need to adapt to the situation though.
Beastmaster Items
Start with 3
Clarities,
Tangoes and a
Iron Branch. (This also leaves enough gold for
Animal Courier or
Observer Ward just in case
but this may delay your
Soul Ring). this gives enough mana for 5-6
Wild Axes throws and if you get a last hit each time you should have your
Soul Ring. then get
Power Treads and I usually rush
Necronomicon 3, if you stack and
clear ancients efficiently you can get it around 20 mins. the melee
Necronomicon unit has a base attack time of .75 so your can easily shred
peoples mana later and do not forget the ranged
Necronomicon active as it burns
mana and is an additional nuke.
Arcane Boots and
Boots of Travel for late game
since you can tp directly to
Call of the Wild Hawk in fog and
Primal Roar someone for your team
to capitalize on. If the enemy disables outrange your
Primal Roar you can also
go for
Aghanim's Scepter the cooldown in the late game can suprise some
people with how ridiculously short it is . Feel free to also pick up a
gem as you have a ranged summon and flying vision for dewarding.
Lane pairs
If you have a partner that can kill with
the help of the
Call of the Wild Boar slow that is great but I prefer him solo offlane
for a fast 6. If you make a spam lane with
Lich or
Elder Titan that also
works, you might not get a kill but you will zone them out and go
through their regen.
Play style
On radiant you want to get actually get
your
Call of the Wild Boar at level 3 and with some simple micro you can start stacking
ancients for later. In dire offlane you can just throw
Wild Axes to stack
ancients from your tower but, if you use your
Call of the Wild Boar you can save your
Wild Axes for the lane. You want to protect your tower more than you want to
stack ancients
since you stack ancients for 15 mana. You will
want to push out your lane before you farm ancients.
Depending on the
enemy laners you might not just be last hitting with
Wild Axes from 1200
range away in which case your
Call of the Wild Boar can help with last hitting if you put
in in a control group with your hero. If a low armor support tries to
zone by being infront of the creepwave you can use the
Call of the Wild Boar to slow
their attack speed and get efficient trades and possibly a kill.
Once
you get
Necronomicon 3 you can go solo killing and you combo is summons >
Wild Axes from fog to break trees >
Primal Roar> pop
Necronomicon and beat down on
them. you can usually burn all their mana so they cant tp out or use any
escape spells and you can chase with the
Call of the Wild Boar slow. lots of elusive
carries like
Anti-Mage,
Faceless Void,
Ember Spirit are vulnerable to this since their
mana pool takes a long time to pass 600 and they will be dry after your
combo. Even if they rush
Black King Bar and pop it after your ulti the
Call of the Wild Boar still
slows them so you can almost always keep up. You can also split push
pretty well using your
Call of the Wild Hawk to give you vision of approaching enemies so
you can tp out if the enemies initiation range is low.
Buy
Smoke of Deceit as
your
Call of the Wild Hawk can easily setup smoke ganks instead of going in blind. As far
as 5 on 5 initiating goes you want to go for someone who has a majority
of the enemies disables and mana burn them so they cant contribute.
Beastmaster is my most played hero and my win rate went up when I
started going
Necronomicon as the killing power, mana burn, true sight for
Call of the Wild Boar +
Call of the Wild Hawk dewarding, and the followup pushing potential is too strong to
pass up.
