Posted: 08 Aug 2018 02:39 PM PDT Hey guys I've been looking to pickup an offlane hero and Necro seems pretty fun to play, however his Agh's Ult did seem to get merged pretty hard in the 7.19 patch. I was wondering if he is still a good pick and whether Aghs is still worth picking up, or if I should be buying different items. Thanks :) [link] [comments]
Posted: 08 Aug 2018 09:22 AM PDT To preface this, i started to play again after ~1½years of hiatus and initially it went well, calibrated at ancient 4 and climbed to ancient 5. I'm not exactly sure what is happening now but I cant seem to carry games anymore. I feel like the games are either decided in 10 minutes by lanes and then you're fighting a huge uphill battle or thrown later on. I feel like one lane losing hard enough dictates the whole game too much and i'm quite clueless on how to proceed. [link] [comments]
Outworld Devourer Visage Familiar bug Posted: 08 Aug 2018 06:48 AM PDT In this video you will see first a normal OD W then what I would consider a bug [link] [comments]
What are you supposed to do with ET? Posted: 08 Aug 2018 05:06 AM PDT His laning is super bad, he only has a low aoe sleep with a very big delay. His gank potential is very bad because astral's stomp deals low damage without the actual hero. Everyone could escape the sleep if they try, even heroes with low ms like CM. [link] [comments]
Posted: 07 Aug 2018 07:41 PM PDT So I've been having trouble ending games with clinkz in 3kmmr bracket. I usually go safelane, get a 15 min orchid, gank and take towers when I can. My team often gets a lane of tax or two down but then the enemy team ends up with a lot of vision and disable and wins the team fights, often leading to a 45min loss for me after 30 min of being ahead. Any tips on what I can do here? [link] [comments]
Matchups you should lose (common sense + global winrates) but actually win consistently? Posted: 07 Aug 2018 01:05 PM PDT So, I have looked at global winrates in certain hero matchups, and, being surprised because matchups in which I thought that hero A is favored actually have hero B favored, and compared my own winrates to the global ratings here. Lo and behold, global winrates and my winrates frequently have nothing whatsorever to do with each other. Highlights: 1: I have an 81% winrate as Bristleback vs Lifestealer. Bristle should, generally speaking, be mostly food here. I dont do anything particularly special. Heavens halberd whenever he open wounds someone then ignore him while killing his team. 2: As gyro, I have a 63% winrate vs Lifestealer and a whopping 72% winrate vs spectre. What I do perhaps different: Build Is Aghs, Maels, Satanic. Maybe Silver edge after the BKB. Turn on Satanic when specs pops bladmail, be next to a teammate, win the slapfight. Normally, Gyro should have considerably more farm then spec. Also, Silver edge is not unreasonable on Gyro and always value vs spec. 3: As WR, I have a 63% winrate vs spectre. What do I do different? Satanic and sometimes Silver edge. Spectre players do not expect a WR to succesfully manfight them, but with a satanic you actually can. Did you ever tried to figure out in which matchups you are better then you should be? Bear in mind that I am just a 2K-3K scrub, but I think that searching for such anomalies is potentially useful for anybody at his respective MMR. [link] [comments]
How does turn rate contribute to the game? Posted: 07 Aug 2018 04:57 AM PDT A common rebuttal that I see from League Of Legend fans is when they try DOTA, they are not satisfied by the turn rate as it is not instant. My question is how does turn rate add dynamic to the game? [link] [comments]
What do you guys think about buffing silver edge effect a second or two? Posted: 07 Aug 2018 11:58 AM PDT I've noticed that quite often the amount of time you get with the target hero broken just isn't enough to bring them down, a especially if they build tanky like Bristle, Spec, or Cent. Considering that Silver Edge is usually gotten as a counter to these beefy heroes (as squishy heroes with big passives like PA can be nuked down with spells), what do you guys think of buffing the break duration by one or two seconds? If it's too strong, you could increase recipe cost to compensate. I think it'd be a good slight nerf to these heroes without tanking their winrate by giving teams a legitimate option to kill them lategame. [link] [comments]
Why is Spectre so heavily picked? Posted: 07 Aug 2018 09:04 AM PDT With the meta being 2-1-2, it is much tougher to lane as a POS 1. I occasionally play with a divine 3 friend of mine and he emphasized picking strong laning cores in this patch (PL, Bloodseeker, Necro, Jugg), which aligned with what BSJ said in his stream about picking strong laning cores. He basically advised me to not play AM Why is Spectre picked so often if thats the case considering her atrocious laning stage, and why doesn't a weak core in lane like AM get picked or do as well as her? Isn't the importance of this meta about winning your lanes? [link] [comments]
Help with getting ganked mid 7.19 Posted: 07 Aug 2018 10:14 PM PDT I was under the impression that roaming middle lane isn't effective this patch, but in about 60% of my games, I constantly have a treant, tusk, sb, etc just camping my lane. I end up feeding and somehow my other lanes will still manage to lose with a player missing. Is there something I am doing wrong I just don't get it. https://www.dotabuff.com/players/153676618/matches Happened mostly in all of my meepo games and the most recent sf game [link] [comments]
| List of resources to learn meepo? Posted: 07 Aug 2018 07:28 PM PDT Jungle rotations, hotkeys/options, item builds, mechanics, tips/tricks, etc. etc. He is the only hero I don't really know how to play and I want to learn him If anyone has good resources to learn him I would appreciate it. | Why don't I see any jungler/ roaming roles anymore? Posted: 07 Aug 2018 07:49 AM PDT I recently came back to Dota and I have played a few matches and have yet to see anyone take on the role of jungler? Why is this ? Also, what is your opinion on the situation ( i.e make jungling more viable if that is the case). [link] [comments] |
Posted: 07 Aug 2018 11:19 AM PDT I've been watching a bunch of Visage guides and practicing him unranked on a smurf account but I'm hesitant to play him ranked on my main, because there's some stuff I don't understand. 1) What lane is the best for him now? I'd only assume mid, but in some videos they said safelane. He seems like the kind of hero that you can just let him have a complete garbage lane CS-wise so long as he gets his lvl 6, on the other hand, offlane is the new safelane, so maybe he could work there in a dual lane? 2) Once you get 6, do you focus on grouping up and taking towers, or do you just keep hitting ancients till you have your core items up? 3) Do you go medallion or HoTD first? I've seen both in the videos I've watched. 4) Midas? I assume it's garbage in this patch, but he does have a 40% XP talent. 5) Is the best build the solar + aura items + optional Aghs build or solar + lockdown items (atos, bloodthorn) + Aghs? Like let's say you're playing against a Storm Spirit mid. On one hand, you can get a really fast HotD Pipe and just push highground before 20 minutes, on the other hand you could go atos and make it such that he's scared to zip into you, since you can set up a perfect stun lock on him. 6) How do you play against counters? Don't birds die fairly instantaneously to Axe calls or Timber chains? Is there counterplay or do you just have a rule of thumb to never pick Visage into those heroes? Thanks [link] [comments]
What realization led to your biggest jump forward, and at what rank? Posted: 06 Aug 2018 04:55 PM PDT I know these won't be completely generalizable, but I'm curious if people have had "a-ha" moments that helped their gameplay a lot. Mine is really stupid but it would be interesting to hear perspectives from higher-skilled players and people who have climbed a lot too. For me, it was when I calibrated at 900 MMR, was stuck there for a while, and then was introduced to the idea of always taking "free farm" if there is any. I played support and had the mindset that I shouldn't ever be hitting creeps, but if a wave is pushing in on your side of the map, then it's throwing away money and XP if you don't go farm it. Gained 500 MMR pretty much instantly once I understood that. [link] [comments]

Why can't I break out of Ancient?? Posted: 07 Aug 2018 12:31 AM PDT I've been stuck in Ancient for the past few months and I went on a huge losing streak so I decided to buy a Divine 2 5.2k MMR account. Since playing on that account I've raised the MMR of that account up to 5.7k Divine 5 but for some reason when I go on my Ancient account I can't win games what is happening? If I am able to significantly raise the MMR of a Divine account then I must be a Divine+ player. The games on the Divine account I bought are so much easier than the games on my Ancient account. Is it because I have behavior D on my main account? [link] [comments]
