Jumped on for a quick session and got into the weekly with a group of 3 demos. My buddy was going to run run demo as well but decided to swap to medic with so many already in play.

I couldn't even keep up, and half the time I got into range as a zerk, the enemies would just explode instantly. I couldn't stop laughing. Best game ever!

KF2 Server Issue - Custom Maps not shared

Hey everyone, apologies if this isn't the best place to write this if there is a more appropriate subreddit I'll make sure to add it there.

The issue - if the server changes to a map in which at least one player on the server does not have downloaded the server freezes.

A bit of background, I've recently got my server up and it works well almost all the time. A few issuses if I boot the server while kf2 is running, usually steam workshop not found. If that happens then the server is detected but no one can join, no error just unable to join. That isn't the problem though I found just loading the server with Steam closed solves it the majority of the time.

I've had friends connect from out of the country and from within with no problem. When the server freezes a few things of note are shown:

  • A message appears ipnetdriversteamworks=# where # is typically 0-3. I've looked into this and people say this is the message that shows when someone disconnects, I've only seen it in this situation.

  • Everyone on the server is stuck on the loading screen for about two to five minutes before being directed to the main menu.

  • The server can be detected but you can not join.

  • The server cmd is completely unresponsive, I can not terminate it via task manager and the only way I have found to close it is through logging off or powering down.

  • While the server is frozen the web admin access is gone it shows a can no connect to source page as if connecting to an invalid ip.

  • After five to 15 minutes the server starts running again as if nothing happened and people can join once again. Usually the map that was causing issue is the active map although sometimes it is the start map in the cycle.

The only way I have found to fix this is to have each player subscribe to the map through the Steam workshop and restart steam & killing floor. My cpu or memory doesn't surpass 50% whilst the server and killing floor runs. I have almost no problems while running any standard killing floor map.

I thank you all ahead of time for any insight you might be able to provide! I'm no pro at this at all but if anyone has questions pertaining to their own server I might be able to address them.

How to change the menu music?

I followed this tutorial but I still get the default music, which is weird because I removed the original file from the directory. I want to replace it with the original Outbreak soundtrack. In the tutorial there are 2 text files with a list of all the tracks but I only see BNK files (which I have no clue how to open but apparently they are audio files). Someone mentioned in another thread from 1 month ago that 799659999.wem is the menu music, I replaced that with Outbreak (using the exact same name, of course) but it still loads the default one. Any ideas?

TripWire for gods sake fix the damn bug that screws up your perk skills loadout after leveling up

Each time you hit level 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25, your perk skills get shuffled for no reason midgame. If you look in the menu, the skills show the same as before but they are actually not.

Good example is playing Support. You hit level 20 and suddenly instead of having Salvo, the game changes the skill to Fortitude for no reason and it's stuck like this 'til the wave is over. I can't get over how annoying this is, especially when you level up at the start of a long wave.

This bug has been in the game for ages. I was reminded of it's existence after prestiging all my perks and going through the grind. Please fix it.

Incursion: why are you FORCED to use PS Move...?

I'm not looking to buy the PS Move sticks for use with my PSVR set as I was not at all impressed with the "teleporting" movement in Doom VFR. I used my friend's PS Move sticks.

Is Incursion on "rails" meaning you move automatically like Rush of Blood? Rush of Blood allows the use of a regular controller so why doesn't Incursion...?

Deployment on the killing floor

In this game we are mercenaries sent to dispatch zeds in different places, nicknamed the killing floor. But to me it doesn't feel like like that. Once a game starts we just magically appear at our location together. I think something that would be really cool or boost the immersion is some sort of deployment sequence arriving at our location. It doesn't have to be a long cutscene, I feel like players would get tired of it and want to skip it eventually. But how about spawning in a helicopter up above and dropping down into the map? Or you and your teammates exiting a car/truck? Maybe the truck crashes being attacked by zeds and you're forced to exit into the killing floor. Sneaking in from a vent/or jumping a fence? The situations are endless and I feel this could add more excitement and give you more of a sense of being a mercenary.

Is it just me or is this a death sentence? I play mostly endless on large servers and I have yet to survive an FP wave. When the FPs come charging in, you now realise how OP they are (weakest points are covered by FPs who are almost designed to get the first hit in before you can really damage them).

Has anyone survived this on a normal map?

Gunslinger vs Marksman Sharpshooter (right-side perks)

I've always struggled playing as the marksman-style Sharpshooter. His headshot-only damage combined with unreliable stuns (Ranger rarely works) made me shoot so much ammo that was rather pricey (Centerfire shoots for 5.5 dosh per bullet), so I'd have trouble making it viable for a 6p HoE match.

I recently found that the T5 Centerfire and T4 Winchester are great on marksman SS, but I still find that Gunslinger wears it better due to his ability to run fast reloads with Rack 'em Up plus quicker sprint speed (or can get extra body damage plus stumble from right-side perks). The SS, on the other hand, gets semi-effective stuns and is slower, but can shoot 10% quicker and stock 30% more ammo. Still though, GS feels so much better.

So, my question: when would the Marksmen-style Sharpshooter be a better choice over the Gunslinger? Also, what's your favorite load-out for this?

A game ending glitch

I've been getting a glitch a lot recently where my game will freeze for a second or less and when it unfreezes I'll be looking in a completely different direction. This only happens when I switch weapons. It had happened a few times before but ever since the recent update it's been happening almost every time I switch weapons, and it's caused me to die multiple times while trying to figure out which way I'm looking. Has anyone else experienced this?

I'm on Xbox, if that's important info
