I started by talking to the ghost in Ebonhawke with my Charr, and the ghost immediately just started asking why a Charr is there being all friendly, and saying that she was making a sword to kill us.

[qT] Quantify vs Matthias [3 man | No CC]

Hey,

 

we really wanted to do a lowman again for quite some time but we struggled to find a boss that's both possible to kill with less people than the previous kill and one that's truly challenging and engaging. Some of the things we wanted to try were 4 man Gorseval(No Updraft), 5 man KC, 4 man Sabetha and 4 man SH but they either were impossible due to the recent balance patch or just very boring and grindy.

 

3 man Matthias ended up being a 6-day, 35h+ project with 478 wipes but we think the end result is worth it.

Some explanation of the strategy:

From a viewing perspective the kill may seem like we simply just out-healed mechanics and had some random downstates/were slow with dropping mechanics, however we tried to minmax our damage as much as possible in order to have as little time spent in enrage as possible. the timing of killing the non-corrupted player or holding onto/dropping the action key were critical to skipping the window in which you can get chosen to be sacrificed and also the timing of receiving the next corruption. To explain this a little better, the way his sacrifice mechanic works is that if a player is down or has a corruption/action key on them during the time of the sacrifice (every 45 seconds starting from 9:45) they cannot be chosen to be sacrificed. After figuring this out, we devised a strategy to keep corruptions on 2 players constantly so they could not be sacrificed, while the third person was killed just before the sacrifice in ice and rain phase by either tanking the corruptions of the other two players, or eating the hadouken just before the sacrifice. (For the very first sacrifice we had to use Nature spirit to quickly res both downed players since we only had 1 corruption at this point. In the fire phase the player without corruption delayed dropping the action key bomb, as holding onto this also prevents sacrifice occurring. One other timing issue we had to overcome was getting the action key at the same time as the corruption would occur, in this case we had to move away a few seconds before-hand and instantly spam the key to drop the bomb so the corruption could target the player.

Hey Everyone!

We have one more week until the Festival of the Four Winds comes to an end, and with it my favorite festival gamemode: The Queens Gauntlet! I'm still thoroughly enjoying the 1-player content, it really pushes you to improve. So I've decided to hold a Competition on THE BEST Turai Ossa Kill with max Gambits. The ultimate solo contest, in which you can show off your skills in the Gauntlet!

The Rules are quite simple: record your fastest Turai Ossa kill using every single gambit, upload it to YouTube, send me the link and you're in!

However, I want to include everyone in the community and the competition in the PvE scene can be quite intimidating. That's why I've decided to split the contest into three categories:

  1. Category: Fastest Kill (everyone)Simple enaugh: the fastest kill wins this category.Price: 1000 gold
  2. Category: Fastest Kill (excluding pro players)Same rules as the first category: fastest kill wins! However, in this category, pro players - such as famous speedclearers or solo-specialists - aren't allowed to enter! That way even if you aren't a well-trained PvE specialist you can still have a chance of winning a price! The distinction of who can enter this category and who can't will be made by me, but I promise this category will be casual-friendly.Price: 800g
  3. Category: Most Creative KillNot everyone enjoys just pushing for the best times. In this category, killtime doesn't matter at all. This category will judge the creativity of the build you used. Of course, you will still have to actually kill the boss, so the build also has to work. Think outside of the box and impress me and my jury with a truly creative kill to win this category!Price: 600g

Here are a few more rules to keep things fair:

- The boss-Timer must be clearly visible in the video, as that will be the determining factor of your kill-time. You can add a timer in the video if you want, but the boss-timer is what counts.

- You can enter multiple categories with the same video if you want, or each category with it's own, however, you can only submit one entry per category. If you want to replace an old entry, just send me a link to the new video and it will replace your previous one.

- You may only use what your own character can supply. Precasting of things such as banners IS ALLOWED, as long as you yourself are the source. For example: going into the ring to cast a banner, dying, removing banner from your skill-bar, then re-entering and picking up the still standing banner IS FINE. Having teammates buff you up to a minute of quickness before the fight however is not. If you are unsure whether what you are doing is allowed, just contact me.

- You must be under the influence of every single gambit while performing the kill!

The Deadline to enter the competition is August 14th 2018, 8pm CEST.

Rise to the top and prove yourself as the best solo player in the game!

Zodiac armor skin is awesome, but for the love of God. Just let us dye it already. I seriously want to use the male Light "Leggings" but the blue part honestly makes me not want to do it.

[RACE] the EU Beetle Racing Guild is pleased on inviting everyone to join our first Beetle League Tournament. EVERYONE can join :D .

Here're the rules of the tournament.

The tournament will be held on the 25-26 of August 12:00 server time 14:00 cest.

The tournament's tracks will be 5: Shaemor circuit, Metrica Boarkk circuit, Plain of Ashford circuit and 2 secret tracks for the semifinals and final.

Depending on the number of the pilots, we'll split the contestants in 5 squads.

The first pilots of every race will gain access to the next track (depending on the number of pilots).

The 6 finalists will win prizes for a total value of 1000+ gold.

PC Shutting Down While Playing

Wondering if anyone has ever had this issue. Computer just shuts down completely while playing after maybe 15-20 minutes.

Obviously first thought is overheating or PSU failure but the funny part is I just spent an hour and a half playing Final Fantasy XV at 4k max settings and had no shut downs whatsoever. I have been playing it for several days now too with no issues. Torture tests for CPU (Ryzen 2700X) at 100% utilization after 10 minutes showed a comfortable 67.5 degrees Celsius. No other games or PC use have caused a shut down of this caliber. I have to unplug my computer or flip the PSU switch to cut power completely before the computer will turn back on.

Not sure what the hell to think at this point. Hoping there's someone out there who sees this and has heard of this issue. PC specs in case you're wondering:

Ryzen 2700X

Asus X470-Pro

Gigabyte Aorus Extreme 1080 Ti

16GB DDR4 3000MHz

Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 650W 80+ Gold PSU

Edit : Just booted the game up to see if it would do it again and it took approximately 3 seconds after the map loaded for my PC to shut off.

Edit 2 : Can add Doom to the list of games that play with no issues. Can't imagine Guild Wars 2 could even be remotely close to demanding as FFXV or Doom in 4K maxed settings. Going to try reinstalling Guild Wars 2.
