| Posted: 31 Aug 2018 12:51 AM PDT Hey guys, recently the game has gone on sale, on Steam, and I was wondering if I should buy it. I played this game actively for about a year on PS4 until February, when I got bored of it. The main issue for me was that the new DLCs seemed pretty stale and too similar to the others along with not wanting to spend a ridiculous amount of money in sharkcards to purchase the new items. A lot of people have said that the PC community is terrible with modders/cheaters as well, and I'm not a big fan of singleplayer. So as someone coming back to the game, would it be worth buying? Is the game in a poor state right now? [link] [comments]  |

Posted: 30 Aug 2018 10:57 AM PDT I was just going to comment having seen this question being posed in the thread earlier but it was too long winded to post as a comment, so I will write a post about it instead. GTA settings are quite a long and complex issue based on the style of games they are. GTA is a 'satire of American culture' - Rockstar have said when asked previously if there would be any future games based outside America like GTA London they said no as they view the franchise as a satire of American culture & with a growing international audience American TV shows, celebrities and even the identities of cities like LA or NY are more famous than counterparts in Canada or the UK. The cities created for GTA are based on strong cultural identity, international recognition and heavily influenced by satirical stereotypes, as well as being steeped in historical gang activities. LA, NY and Miami are perhaps the most famous settings in America, I would hazard a guess that a very high percentage of TV shows and films based in America that are popular around the world are mainly set in one of these three cities. With GTA being played by more and more people from around the world they need places, current events and comical rip-offs of people an international audience will know. On paper I think 1960's/70's Detroit is an AMAZING setting for a GTA game, Motown was in full swing, black gangs were appearing and taking control of huge chunks of the city, the mob had their hand in all sorts of unions around the city, the nightlife was lit (for the time), the city itself has a history littered with corrupt politicians, heroin became an epidemic in Detroit around this time, there was the famous riot of 1968, everything is set for a great GTA game. But it will never happen, GTA is focusing more and more on modern pop culture and although Motown Detroit is a great location most of the events, celebrities, groups and culture from that time wouldn't be known or understood by most of the international or younger players, so GTA would lose its identity, its satire. There are some unique cites that already have a GTA version, Capitol City/DC, San Fierro/San Francisco, Las Venturas/Las Vegas, Carcer City is mentioned in GTA III, IV and V and is thought to be either Philly or Detroit, Alderney/New Jersey. But to be honest I dont really see Rockstar making a GTA outside of Liberty City, Los Santos or Vice City in the next twenty years. They are iconic and have an eclectic mix of people and cultures all of which people from around the world know, much more than Atlanta, DC, Philly, Detroit etc. It is for those reasons I believe GTA will is and will remain set in those three cities going forward. I'm pretty much broke again, so what is the best way to make money? I played on 360 and I am currently level 4 on PS4. So, any advice? | Stuck on "The Paleto Score" in Storymode Posted: 30 Aug 2018 05:25 AM PDT Hello, During the end of "The Paleto Score" heist, i can't seem to make any progress. When i approach the railway platform, at the back of the Cluckin Bell factory, this subtitle pops up (without any audio) "Team uhh come in. I'm trying to hold these guys. Where are you?". I then proceed to hear the approaching train, but when the platform becomes visible, nothing is there. Nothing triggers when i walk onto the the platform, and i can even go outside, by way of the platform, and nothing happens. No cops, no nothing. I've already tried contacting the Rockstar Support, but they seemed to miss my problem entirely. They said they were sorry to hear of my problems with "GTA Online", and that i could try to clear my cache, by deleting my local profile. This did absolutely nothing. I've tried entering the heist from all 3 characters, restarting my computer, switching characters during the heist, before the "missing" event is supposed to trigger, and I've tried reloading checkpoints, by killing myself. Nothing happens, and I'm stuck, as this is the last mission i need to finish, to make progress in the story mode. I've already restarted/replayed the heist 8-9 times, and it's getting a bit boring. 😴 I would really appreciate any help! Best regards [link] [comments]  |

| GTX 1060 Only 50% usage in free roam. Posted: 30 Aug 2018 03:26 AM PDT So I noticed that my GTX 1060 6GB is only being used 50-60% in free roam. And I get 60-90 FPS.... Mostly it will stay between 60-70. Now, if I start a mission at a location where I'm getting 60FPS... and when mission animation starts. Card usage goes to 98% and so does it boosts my FPS by 20fps more at same location. And when mission animation ends. Card usage goes back to 50-60%. And FPS drops down to 60. What can I do about it?
