(Console) Is it just me, or does the free aim option still have *some* aim assist? Posted: 01 Aug 2018 12:20 AM PDT I was playing around with free aim (regular free aim, not free aim - assisted) a little in single player, when I noticed that my reticle would slow down whenever I would aim at someone.1 The effect is very noticable when moving your reticle across groups of civilians. I don't know if free aim has always been like that, or if Rockstar messed with it in the latest patch. Either way, it bothers me that I seem to be unable to turn it off. I know it will just make aiming harder, but I should be able to make bad decisions if I want to. 1 This is what's called (in battlefield 4, anyway) "aim assist slowdown". It does not cause your reticle to move with your target when your target moves. EDIT: I just checked again, and there might not be aim assist in free aim?
